Is Lawrie ever lucky the Jays won yesterday because his antics would be the talk of the town today.

That was absolutely a garbage move to complain about Lind not scoring. Completely selfish. One of the worst things I've seen on a Major League field. I think it was much worse than the Escobar eye black last season. Lawrie was showing up a teammate and a coach. The excuse he is just 23 doesn't cut it with me.

He deserves all the boos he's going to get this week.

If I were him, I'd be schmoozing Kawasaki for the next month because you're right - if the Jays had lost, he would have been the focal point and not the awesome Kawasaki interview.

The problem with Lawrie IMO is that when he was traded here, he was hyped as a good prospect and the present and future of the Blue Jays. It helped him a lot of course that he was Canadian and he had that hot start. He was amped up and people (including myself) loved it because the team had been lacking someone like that.

Last season, he struggled a bit and his antics started to wear a little thin. Between the helmet incident and his my way or the highway attitude, we started to see that side of him that made me think at least that he needed to calm down a bit.

Yesterday was just inexcusable. You can't publicly question your coaches and teammates during a game and especially when you're a professional athlete on TV. It was indeed selfish and unnecessary. He should be sent a message from the Jays brass if they want to curb this once and for all. Just because he's Canadian playing for the Jays doesn't give him the right to be a complete moron and this is coming from a guy who is a big fan of his

Kawasaki better not leave when Reyes returns. Like people were mentioning before, maybe Rasmus + Izturis or something for a permanent 2B?

Then Gose stays as starting CF.

That, or we send Gose back down, Bonifacio becomes our OF backup, and Kawasaki/DeRosa are the IF backups.

I don't know why everyone wants to get rid of Rasmus so bad. Until Gose shows he can perform on the Major League level, I don't want to see it. Wasn't that impressive last year. Hasn't done much of anything this year. I'd rather have Rasmus' 20+ home runs and decent defense. Now, maybe giving Gose a starting position for months instead of just 50 games like last year, he'll come around... or he could turn into another Travis Snider, and I'm pretty sure no one at this point would say they'd rather have Snider out there. Although, Snider hasn't been THAT bad in Pittsburgh, but he's between his first 3 years in Toronto and last couple.

Jays have much more OF options than they do at other positions(not just Gose, but a guy like Sierra, and even Bonifacio are guys who can play CF) while 2B is a position that's one we really need to improve on.

Especially in the AL East where 2 of the 4 other teams 2B are among the best in the league.

lol, this is still funny to see

Bonifacio wouldn't be the answer to CF if it meant moving Rasmus, unless you get Kinsler or something like that, which I think that would be hard to swing even if Texas has Profar. Sierra I could see in the future moreso than Gose, but can he play center? He was only in RF last year with Bautista out and he only has 14 career games at CF in the minors.

Rasmus hits 20 homers and plays decent defense, but he's so frustrating at the plate sometimes that some people (myself included) want to see him go. I agree that Gose or whomever the Jays want to play CF have to prove themselves. Colby for me is someone I want to do well, but it sames to be the same for him. He will make you think he's coming around and then be terrible at the plate again for long stretches.

But on a positive note, he hit a monster shot tonight and doubled off his brother. That was cool to see Lawrie sprained his ankle - karma's a you know what Brett...

                  Re: 2013 Toronto Blue Jays

I hate the scheduling they have set up.

Jays play two weekend games at 10pm....Why can't the game start at 7pmEST(4pm local time) or 4pmEST(1pm local time) instead? MLB obviously not caring/thinking about the eastern team in the east vs west game. I could understand if it's a weekday(cause then it'd have to be 7pm local time), but two weekend games at a time where half the teams playing, would barely have fans watching the entire game?

Yankees on the other hand, face the exact same team(Padres) on the weekend, and they get the time convenient for their fans to watch....So looks like the MLB schedules are just made to favor the MLBs fave teams, the ones that get people to watch on USA networks. Sounds just like NBA.

And next weeks Giants series looks strange too. Game on Tuesday is at 10:15pmEST, game on Wednesday is at 3:45pmEST. Don't get reasoning behind that at all.

Destroying the Jays, one series at a time.

Jays about to bring up their 40th and potentially 41st player of 2013 season. The Mariners,Rangers,Braves,Reds all had 41 or less players used for the entire 2012 season

Lol. On a positive note I am liking Arencibia more and more. He still strikes out a ton, but his game overall is improving.

Hopefully Morrow is ok. The Jays have this odd thing about announcing minor injuries that blow up into long-term ones. Plus, this rotation has been cursed the past two seasons.

It's just insane how many innings the bullpen has had to eat up this season. I actually think Gibbons has done a pretty good job managing the bullpen considering how often he has to call the bullpen before the fifth inning.

Wow, we're 29th in team ERA, 29th in home runs allowed and 25th in quality starts.

It's just so difficult to put any winning streak together when you can't get five innings consistently out of your starters.

It's pretty depressing seeing the lack of starting depth in the minors. I'm not sure they've received a quality start (6 IP, 3 ER or less) out of any of their call-ups.

Indeed. I just hope that Morrow's injury doesn't turn into Tommy John.

I was just looking at the Jays long-term schedule. Between June 7 and July 4, it's going to be very tough to make up ground

They play 27 games in that span, only three against a team with an under .500 record (Chicago White Sox).

                              That includes:

                              Seven games against Texas
Four away to the Red Sox
                              Three away to Tampa
                              Four against Detroit
                              Three against Baltimore

Looks more like the perfect way to make up ground. You play 3 teams that are ahead of you in the division/are in the wildcard race. You don't make up ground playing bottom of the barrel teams while everyone else ahead of you still wins; you make up ground beating those ahead of you.
