    Re: 2013 Toronto Blue Jays

Giants said a reason for their errors was that many guys never played on a surface like astroturf before.

Obviously wasn't the reason they lost, but it was reason for some of those errors. But it also makes me keep on hoping that one day, Jays get regular turf for their field. While our opponents might not be that used to it, our own players obviously don't fully like it either.

Would be good for everyone, and that includes the long-term health of Reyes. I wonder if Melky's hamstrings are a turf casualty.

The ironic thing about Reyes though, is that he didn't even get injured at Rogers Centre, and the injury had nothing to do with our field, it was just one big crazy accident. But with an ankle injury now, you have to wonder how he'd be on our turf once he's back.

Argos I believe are the ONLY reason this is an issue at the moment. And like I said months ago, if they aren't gonna change the turf, at least have a normal infield(all dirt infield. Instead of just dirt around the bases)

Turf or no turf, we've won four in a row and are now 7 games under .500. Hopefully, we can continue this nice streak of ours. The team still has a ways to go, but they are playing good baseball now

The turf will be gone in a couple years so it's not something to lose sleep over. I expect regular grass by 2015-16.

Kawasaki is an interesting guy and probably the most eccentric guy to put on a Blue Jays uniform since George Bell. He's the type of personality that'd be great in a clubhouse on a contending team.

So there's talk that the Gose call up may be a desperation move on the Jays part or the first part of some further development with Rasmus probably being traded. I wouldn't mind seeing Rasmus traded. I know that Gose's numbers are basically the same as his in terms of OBP and he doesn't have as much pop but he's a plus defender in the OF AND can be a viable lead off guy if he practices the plate discipline that Chad Mottola is preaching right now.

I guess we'll see if this was a desperate move by the Jays or the lead up to a trade of some sort.

I think that it could be a little of both.

Dunno if any of you guys heard Blue Jays central today but oh man....Blair and Hayhurst are like oil and water. There's a show on MLB-N that contrasts the old school and new school aspects of the game and I thought the way Blair and Hayhurst were going that they were far more interesting than what MLB-N has to offer on that end.

It's a real head scratcher that they called Gose up before Sierra considering the two players stats at Buffalo. It will be even more confusing if they simply leave Gose on the bench. He needs at bats to get better.

Plate discipline? Gose struck out 41 times in 154 at bats in Triple A!!!

What's really scary is that he stole only five bases and was caught stealing four times.

Hence why I said he'll need work with Mottola

Hopefully the Jays can win the rubber game against the Rays this afternoon.

Friend of mine who lives in Toronto said there was nobody at the game Tuesday night and everyone has packed it in.

Same ol same ol fickle Toronto baseball fans. Huge market, massive downtown population, poor attendance.

Jays were 15th in attendance heading into tonight's game according to ESPN.com

I don't think that's bad considering the team's record. It's a bit inflated because they've had their only weekend series against the Yankees and Red Sox already.
