I was at the game yesterday. There really was nobody there.

Mind you, it was a 430 game on a Wednesday, but still.

It was incredible to see Joey Bats single handedly put the team on his back. He batted in all 4 of their runs plus the game winner.

Despite that there were a sprinkling of fans in the outfield seats so at least that makes it look pretty good for TV purposes. It's not like we're talking about the Expos in their last couple years in Montreal levels here.

Bautista is sure intent on carrying this team on his back All in all, I was happy. Buerhle's been pitching much better since I posted that he should be traded. It sucks that he didn't get a decision against either the Red Sox or Tampa, but if he continues to pitch like this, he will win.

The Gose call-up was surprising, but the kid had a decent game last night and hopefully, he will learn good plate discipline and get on base. He's got speed and we need that in the lineup.

Minus the 2 losses against the Yankees, the team is playing better in the last while

Guys like Rasmus and Lawrie haven't done much at the plate. Yesterday was literally about waiting through the lineup until Bautista came back up to the plate. Nobody else could do anything.

At least Lind is good for a walk or two.

According to BleacherReport, the Jays are going to call up Sean Nolin from Double-A to start against the Orioles on Friday.

Rasmus is so frustrating to watch. Lawrie I think is still catching up from barely any spring training.

I really hope Lawrie can make a strong comeback. He can't even make solid contact with the ball at all lately.

It'll be interesting to see how Gose does. We need a formidable option at the lead off spot. Although, I kinda like Cabrera there with Joey batting second.

It's unconventional as hell but the lineup as its currently constructed has given opposing managers fits in the later innings. I think it's best to stick with what's working than muck it up by doing anything too fancy until Reyes comes back and they move everyone down a slot.

Jose Reyes is getting the job back in a couple of weeks.

It has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the fact that the Jays have never had a playoff contending team in almost 20 years. This season had lots of hype, and if Jays lived up to the hype, then they'd be getting alot more fans. But when you're playing the exact kind of baseball fans have been seeing over and over and over again for 15-20 years now, you're not gonna draw people in to paying $11-$210 for tickets.

                      Leafs are diff cause:
1.They only need to fill around 19,000 seats
                      2.It's hockey
                      3.They're Canadian team

Had any non Canadian team been playing like how the Leafs did from 05-12 then I'd expect like 15,000 or so people only to be attending those games.

Jays TV ratings have been real great this season too though

21-13 is what Jays need to go to be .500 at midway point in season!

I certainly hope we can win 7 in a row. The team does need Lawrie to start hitting with consistency. The talent is there and he just needs to get confidence to get going.

IF AA decides to trade Rasmus, what would we be looking for in a trade? Pitching? Prospects?

Neither, I'd be looking for a middle IFer ASAP. The Jays can't turn double plays to save their lives with the middle infield alignment at the moment.

So I decided to read the game thread of last night's game on Drunk Jays Fans....I know some people don't like Arencibia but those guys really laid into him in there. They even have a nickname for him Strike3bia.

Also it looks like Bucko is going to be away for another 5 days. I just hope that doesn't mean Matt Devlin calling games the rest of the way. The man is the most vanilla and boring PBP guy i've ever heard. He makes Jim Nantz seem like an energy drink compared to him. Dunno why they wouldn't let Wilner do the TV duties or at least have Jamie Campbell do the games as he's had experience.

Oh well....Hopefully while i'm in South Florida the Jays keep up the solid play. I'll definitely check up on them on MLBN.
