lol, Kawasaki felt it before the game he was gonna get home run(he hit one in batting practice too)

5-4 in next 9 games to finish above .500 at midway point in season, but we're at .500 right now! Hopefully we take at least 1 more from O's, get Reyes back, and start Rays series.

Anybody make any money off this? haha

Well, not as much went our way yesterday but we still made up ground.

So here's is what we want to see today: Toronto win (obviously), Texas loss, would like a Tampa win but not required today, a Cleveland loss. A Boston loss would also be welcome, but Detroit may not be as good as that record indicates (good for us in a week or so).

Betting line has Baltimore winning, not covering the 1.5 run line. Expect another close one. Hopefully Vegas has it wrong today. If you had bet with Vegas this month, you'd have only been 6-11 with Toronto so looks like they are struggling to figure us out.

Went to the game last night. It was as enjoyable a baseball game as I've ever attended. The crowd was great, and went absolutely insane when Muni hit that homer. I thought for sure it was going to die at the wall.

Well there is a new wrinkle. The Rangers have caught up to the A's, which means more to watch out for. Here is what I said earlier in the week. The aim was to be 4 out of wildcard #2 and 4.5 out of wildcard #1.

          Texas - 1 GB
          KC - 4 GB
          Tampa - 4.5 GB
          Cleveland - 4.5 GB
          Toronto - 4.5 GB

We'll pass KC and Cleveland if they do worse than 2-1 in their series. 1.5 more games made up in 5 days? I'll take it.
Guess what? I'm pretty damn close. Here is what we want to see and where we should stand with one more week down:

For the love of god another Boston loss
Must see Tampa over NY (we can make up ground on Tampa ourselves next week)
Would the Twins please get their **** together
KC no longer matters as we have a 2.5 game lead on them
Because Oakland and Texas are tied we need at least one to lose (Texas plays Wainright, Oakland sees Bonderman).

We still don't know who is pitching for Baltimore, so I will consider us possibly losing. If it is like the donut king and they get the best of us for 6 or 7 innings, we'll see. I didn't watch enough MASN yesterday, but if it isn't listed yet, they still haven't named a starter.

If at least one of TEX and OAK lose...

          TEX/OAK (one leads the division)
          BAL - 1 GB
          NYY - 1.5 GB
          CLE/TOR/TB - 4 GB

Just 3 games out of the playoffs.

          If we lose to Baltimore...
          TEX/OAK/BAL
          NYY - 1.5 GB
          CLE/TB - 4 GB
          TOR - 5 GB

So not the end of the world, but 5 games behind both teams in the latter.

If both TEX and OAK win... eh, Texas shouldn't beat Wainwright so let's not worry about that scenario. We could be in the wildcard by July the way things are falling. An early look at next week's schedule has CLE/BAL, TEX/NYY, COL/BOS, TOR/TB, CIN/OAK followed by CLE/CWS, NYY/BAL, DET/TB, TOR/BOS, CIN/TEX, STL/OAK.

If we are winning, those series pitting teams ahead of us against each other are guaranteed to make up 1, maybe more games, on those teams. If Oakland could hit a cold streak, that would do wonders.

For all the unsung hero worship Kawasaki gets (and rightfully so), Maicer Izturis has been such a valuable role player over the streak. Clutch hits, and his defense has been solid. The double play he made retrieving the ball in foul territory, stepping on third, and gunning it to first was so damn sweet!

Nice to see this what this team is doing now, and nice for all the guys in this thread slogging it out through some real crap baseball.

              Re: 2013 Toronto Blue Jays

Whenever this streak ends, hopefully Jays bounce back after the loss.

In 87, following the 11 game win streak, Jays ended up going 6-15 in the following 21 games(including a 8 game losing streak) and in 98 following 11 game win streak, Jays ended up going 4-7 in the following 11 games.

So lets hope this time around, whenever the streak ends, we don't end up playing below .500 ball for the following 10-20 games. Jays missed playoffs in 98 by 4 games and missed playoffs in 87 by 2 games. 87 was because of 2 big losing streaks(and fact that only 1 team in division made playoffs, even though Jays were 2nd best team in the league) and 98 Jays slow start hurt them.

You better hope they don't lose for the next week and a half then, though by that point, they'll have passed the 2002 A's. Too many potential losses over the next 11 games.

Or they can win every game from now till all star break and break MLB record lol.

Seriously though, 20 games left until all star break, so hopefully we can win at least 10 of those. Hard stretch will be back to back 4 game series(both against division leaders in Red Sox and Tigers).

Seems like he is ready to go for tomorrow, but Jays just keeping him away from Tropicana Field.

Hoping Jays can win at least 5 of their next 12 games. Split Red Sox and Tigers series and win 1-2 against Rays.

Seems like a good reason, AA thinks he's not ready though. Also probably trying to delay changing the team until the last possible day. 6-5 is what I'd prefer to see, and any extra wins are bonus. Teams ahead of us are playing each other so we'll get some natural help.

I was hoping to see Reyes in Tampa but it makes sense to keep him off that turf for a bit. I'm just going with the idea that if the Jays win/split every series from now to the all star break i'll be happy.

lol ya, Bautista took that video on Jays plane to Tampa.

On a diff note...I'm buying tickets for a game, and don't know if I should wait until the day before(or day of) the game to buy tickets(since 1st row seats become available on gameday) or just buy tickets now? I wanna wait cause 1st row seats sometimes are available on gameday, but don't wanna risk not getting 1st row seats or my 2nd choice either, and Jays have "no seat upgrade" rule either, which sorta sucks.

The price will be the same regardless, it's just whether or not I get to sit 1st row, or several rows back.
