Did the Jays win 11 straight before? You can't tell based on the pitching we've seen lately.

Eventually the pitching was going to slump. Unfortunately the hitting is a bit hit or miss at the moment as well.

^Last 2 losses though run scoring wasn't issue, it was horrible pitching(or possibly horrible game calling from JP?)

8-7 is now record needed going into the break.

Would people consider trading Adam Lind(whose trade price might never be any higher) and JP for a new starting catcher? Imagine some sort of deal like:

Morneau,Mauer from the Twins for Lind,JP and other stuff(Maybe Josh Johnson included in that deal as well, especially if we can't resign him)?

On a diff note, Justin Miller(Jays pitcher from 02-05) found dead today, he was only 35 years old.

I wouldn't trade Lind unless we get something back that'll help for now and the future but yeah, trade JP ASAP!

That is never, ever, ever, ever […] ever happening.

Our best bet for a catcher is McCann or Ruiz.

Yea, that trade would never happen. Lest we forget Mauer has a no-trade clause and and there is a 110% chance he would not lift it to go to Toronto.

Plus, the Twins would have to eat cash (not happening) for us to be able to afford him, not to mention that Lind + JJ + JPA couldn't get you his *** **** shampoo.

Dirk Hayhurst thinks JPA + Oliver for Carlos Ruiz would work. I don't think it'd work but if Amaro is as stupid as I think he is, I would definitely jump on that.

Jays need to win tomorrow too! Series split is what I expected from the start, so hopefully they can at least get that after bad first 2 games to series.

And then coming back home against Tigers, so unless we can somehow make up losing this series by winning Tigers series(which seem real unlikely), gotta get split!

We could really use a win tomorrow.

I'm going on Monday, can't wait. Sold out Canada day game with Dickey on the mound, haven't been this pumped to go to a game since the Halladay game.

I just hope the dome is closed(it seems unlikely though), Dickey is WAY BETTER at places with closed roof.

                        It won't be.

Doesn't Dickey(as the games starting pitcher) have option of whether or not the roof would be open or closed?

Dickey doesn't have control over that, I don't believe.

It's Canada day, and a sold out crowd, in summer, they sure as hell ain't closing the roof unless it rains.

Small sample size. Also has to do with his opponent. A couple of starts is not enough to say that he will never ever pitch well with a roof over his head. The fact he pitched well in Tampa says roof closed or open is not the influence (since he has had good starts elsewhere on the road, see San Francisco).

Meh, I'm all for statistics, but I think there was some science that backed this up.

Speaking of Dickey, check out what a guy I know did on the true Dickey effect.
