Jays have interest in Drew and could pounce on Ubaldo at 3/39.

Drew + Ubaldo + Burnett/Shark is just omg.

I think that'd be as good an offseason as you can expect from the Jays. I wonder if Burnett would actually want to come back to Toronto. He did have some of his best seasons here but at the same time his relationship with the fans and media wasn't exactly the greatest. Burnett has grown up a lot since then though.

I saw Al Leiter doing a breakdown of Ubaldo and Santana tonight and I have to say based on how he broke it down Ubaldo is DEFINITELY my choice over the two.

Jays in on Nelson Cruz apparently as well as Morales, personally Id take either of them over Lind.
I don't even mind Lind unlike most fans, but Cruz would be more Boom with EE and Bautista. good luck going through that SH!t storm. Also depending on Melky it could make them both split time at DH keeping the legs fresh

Cruz plays RF though, so would him or Bautista be able to shift to LF?

I wouldn't mind that. Signing Cruz and Morales, then trade Lind + Melky for either a SP or a 2B(preferably a 2B), and then also signing Jimenez and maybe AJ(if he wants to come)

            "drools"

3-4-5 of EE, Bautista and Cruz would be insane!

I think if the Jays do sign Cruz it'll most likely be a one year deal from the way i'm hearing things. Cruz severely overvalued himself but if he does well on a one year deal he'll definitely be getting megabucks in the offseason next year.

Ya I was thinking (and sure they are) that Cruz would move to left, hes not the greatest fielder to begin with.

That would push us from an 85 win team to probably a 90 win team. Absolute best offseason possible. I've been pushing Drew and Burnett for months.

The highest I would pay for Nelson Cruz is probably about one year, $6 million. Highest I would go for Kendrys would be one year, $10.5 million, or two years, $22 million with a team or vesting option.

Hmm, not so confident we'll get Drew. When was the last time the Jays signed a Scott Boras client?

I'll be shocked if Burnett comes back to the Jays. He was absolutely terrible his last few years with the Yankees and I have to believe he'll avoid the AL East. I guess it all depends on money. It seems like he is one of these pitchers who is more effective in the National League.

If Cruz signs for the Jays for one-year at $6 million that's an all-time bargain. I think teams are scared of him because he is an awful defender more than the steroid stuff. He could have a big year playing at Rogers Centre. I'm really shocked how little talk around baseball there has been about Cruz.

I'm really hoping the Jays fans tonight at the State of the Union spur management into doing something this off-season.

It seems bizarre to me that there are so many quality free agents out there at the end of January.

I'm surprised about Cruz as well.
I'd say it's due to his PED use, but Melky and Peralta had no problems getting signed after getting caught. Same with Colon.

I wonder if there's some personality issues there. Maybe he's a bit off-center?

I'm a Tigers fan, but I'm excited to see what the Jays can do this year. I think they're going to rebound in a big way. Hopefully.

While I totally understand your reasoning on AJ wanting to avoid the AL east, he has a soft spot for Baltimore or should I say his wife does... whooopissshhhh! He's been linked to the O's and Pirates again but who knows.
I do agree though he wont come back to Toronto no way, he had a pretty miserable time here mentally not too mention when he came back with New York the verbal Thrashing he got lol it wasn't talked about much but it was on the same level as Vince Carter the first night he was back. I was at the game (sold out) it was vicious

I'm probably in the minority but I thought he pitched very well for the three years he pitched in Toronto. There were certainly some members of the media who hated him (Richard Griffin of the Star really had something personal against him. Some of his columns criticizing him for not posting more wins were ridiculous especially the one season where the bullpen must have blown like six or seven of his leads.). It was disappointing he opted out but I wasn't surprised. You know players are always going to try to score more coin. Never hated him for that but I totally understand why people booed him for opting him.

Speaking of verbal thrashings, one thing I never understood last year were the people in the stadium who really gave it to Vernon Wells. It's not like he asked for a trade or quit on the team. It was the Jays decision to trade him. That was a real head scratcher for me.

Among what I disagree with in this, this is probably what I disagree with the most. Cruz is like a one win player on the wrong side of 30. He's so hilariously overrated.

I 100% agree, Toronto fans in general are pretty dumb, (not to get anyone here angry) but a lot of them have no clue about anything and follow the boo's as well.
Vernon was a solid Blue Jay for along time until towards the end and was always a happy go lucky guy who never caused any problems. I still got love for the guy, I think Real baseball fans in this country do too

seemed like all interviews lately with Jays brass, a lot of talk about nothing. Made me laugh that they chose the questions from emails instead of letting people rip them right to their faces

So Kinsler could've come to Toronto had he waived his NTC.......

And Jays could've gotten Anderson if it wasn't for their concern about his injuries....that makes no sense. They'd rather keep an injury risked reliever in Santos over trading him for an injury risk starter in Anderson?
