Great to hear. Jays are the one Toronto franchise who actually loves having former players around. Raptors don't have anyone notable to be around, and Leafs seem to only bring back guys for ceremonies and stuff.

Jays on the other hand, you'll always see guys like Alomar,Carter and many more at Jays events throughout the season.

Hopefully one day this can translate into future in coaching for these guys. Imagine having people like Alomar,Fernandez,Halladay,Delgado and others as coaches on this team.

After the interview Damien Cox said that Halladay should go into broadcasting. I'm inclined to agree with him as Halladay was the most open he's ever been and gave his opinions unflinchingly without coming off as an *** the way Zaun sometimes can. I doubt Halladay goes down that road but it'd be cool.

I agree with you about the other teams. I don't know what Butch Carter's got going on in his life but I heard an interview with him on Tim and Sid on Friday I think and it was the most in depth, interesting interview i've heard in the longest time. That man should be either broadcasting or better yet coaching somewhere in The Association again.

Jeff Blair on twitter said Jays have had talks about Billy Butler, god Id love for that to happen and Lind to be headed back (which is the rumour)

Also since you guys are talking about baseball media coverage anyone here listen to PTS and feel like knocking out Damien Cox when he talks about baseball?? its hard to listen to him most of the time on the subject of baseball.

I feel like knocking out Damien Cox whenever he opens his mouth. I have a feeling McCown feels the same way deep down inside as well. The guy is just an obnoxious "know it all who doesn't know a damn thing" type of blowhard.

I said in the Hot Stove thread that I'd like to see Butler in Toronto as he'd be a great professional hitter in the lineup who's generally steady throughout the season without too many peaks and valleys like one Mr. Lind.

I'm starting to get worried we're not going to add anyone of significance to the starting rotation.

The Jays management do realize they need to improve in a lot of areas, right? RIGHT?

Heard there is apparently 3 deals on the table for teams with Toronto for a Starting Pitcher.

Although I agree they need more than JUST pitching, keep in mind most of the starting position players SHOULD bounce back as well...

It really seems like AA is just sitting around with his thumbs up his arse. Hopefully the Jays can get something done that won't cripple them long term.

I'm starting to get worried that like most people, AA doesn't realize that we actually have a giant gaping hole at 2B that needs to be filled even more than the rotation.

So um, are the lights on at the Dome and no one is in there?

Everybody's making moves and the Jays still haven't done anything to address their issues.

With Tanaka not gonna be posted, wonder if now the Jays will stop playing the waiting game and move on with what needs to be done.

And about them not doing anything...this is a trend in the entire city. Biggest reason why the entire city sucks at pro sports, cause nobody does anything, it's all just "We suck,we acknowledge that we suck, and we need to change things to improve" and then that's it. Nothing ever happens. City is just full of talk(among other things).

Big reason why I'm really starting to like NFL,no Toronto team I feel forced into cheering for, so I can like the team that I want(not bandwagoning, but it's just me choosing a team and sticking with them)

This isn't fact yet. Don't spread an unconfirmed rumor. There are lots and lots of conflicting reports.

Ugh. One, it's not a contract extension. His option became guaranteed. No, they're not the same thing. They're really not. Two- ugh, no, not getting into why Gibbons isn't a positive or a negative.

Jays seem to be in lead for Jimenez or Santana.

If it's the 2013 Jimenez the Jays are getting, that'd be GREAT signing. Really,as long as it's not the 2011-2012 Jimenez we're getting, it'd be great.

Santana also would be good to get, just hopefully he becomes consistent. Cause while he's had 4 seasons with ERA below 4, he hasn't had 3 straight seasons of good play.

2010 Jimenez and Santana would've been perfect to have. But seems just as likely that we could get the 2012 versions of them.

Out of the two i'd probably be more comfortable with Santana just because he's shown a little more consistency and has been an innings eater. I just worry that he'll get killed at Rogers Centre with the long ball.
