I guess you can add Didi now. Man is ice cold and not in a good way. Two outta three from Boston is fine though. Let's go smoke Oakland now.

Why are Cole and Hale even on the roster if they're not going to be used at all? Not even down 4 coming out of an hour long rain delay?

Not going to be irrational and get upset they lost because they can't win every game. But, I'm not a fan of Betances pitching 2 innings. Seems to be a regular thing and it's not working out well.

Don't know when the Yanks/Nats think they are playing these games tomorrow! Looks like rain and lightning almost all day. At least I got to see 5.5 innings

Well that’s disappointing. Obviously it’s more important he avoids going into a slump afterwards but the derby suddenly becomes a good bit less exciting and worth watching without Judge in my opinion.

He said before the season he wasn't going to do it again. Would've been cool to go into Washington and dethrone another hometown favorite/potential future Yankee with Bryce in this year, but Judge gave the people what they wanted last year.

Someone must've really bugged him about it to get such a direct and negative response from Judge. He usually is much more passive

I think some people were speculating that the derby also contributed to his shoulder problems that caused his second half slump last year and required him to get surgery in the offseason.

Judge said “the Derby didn’t really have an effect” on his 2nd half, but asked another way if the Derby is what hurt his shoulder Judge replied “I’d rather not say.”

If it did, it's more likely the Yankees made a very strong suggestion to not do it again.

Bird reinstated for today's game, with Torreyes optioned to Triple-A. Surprising to see him go, I thought one of the corner guys would've been sent down.

Should of just sent Bird down in my opinion. Just disrespect to Torreyes, very undeserved. In my opinion Torreyes is an underrated player. Solid bench piece.
He’s been excelling in his utility role this year, performed great in that same role last season too. I just don’t think Bird has done enough and proven himself enough to just automatically be gifted 1B back upon his return, especially when Austin has been doing well in his absence while at the same costing a great utility player his roster spot.

Yes Torreyes isn’t gone and will surely be back, but still. Maybe Bird will just start going off and crushing the ball immediately coming back from injury and make me look foolish, who knows.
