I was getting lonely in here :O

But I agree. The last game his control slipped a little but he was good enough overall to win. He has been a pleasant surprise.

I STILL think he's not worth Kazmir, but if the Mets would've given up a couple of mid-level prospects the trade looks great.

I think the Post or the Times had a story today about the trades done last year. Almost all the players in the Pittsburgh deal are not doing very much and Huber is playing first base for the Royals right now. Kazmir's record isn't very good but he is still young and playing for the Devil Rays. I could still see them trying him out as a closer down the road and if that happens the deal doesn't look all that bad. They still shouldn't have made the Kazmir deal, but it might not turn out that bad in the end.

Like I say, he seems like he's taking a completely different approach on the mound, like he's not trying to blow everything past the batters, instead trying to get outs. Sure, he still walks a few guys here and there, but he's looking a lot better now than I expected. I had expected(wanted :P) him to be DFAed at this point, but now he is solid.

BTW, Chris Woodward, oh lordy lord what a find. You can't see him.

I just hope the Mets dont make questionable moves at the trade deadline like they did last year. On the bad news front it appears that last years No. 1 pick Phip Humber is having arm surgery today.

He actually had it yesterday and it was succesful. Big difference between this year and last, Manaya is not Douchette.

Sorry fsquid for the mis-information. I do hope he is able to come back and help out the rotation in a year or so. I do trust Minaya more than Duchette, but I think that Wilpon made Duchette do the trades to stir up the interest in the team.

I like the fact that Omar Minaya is more agressive than Duquette when it comes to making deals. He has made some good moves and non-moves like Floyd/Piazza for Sosa and Cameron for Byrnes. All we need is a bat at first base and maybe a middle reliever and we should be able to compete for a wild card spot. Especially with the Human Rain Delay due back soon. The Mets can afford a contract like Sweeney or Helton but who knows if those guys are available.

I wouldn't expect to see Huber anytimes soon.

I've heard we have a pitcher that was just promoted from A ball to AAA. I've heard that he's been tagged as the one to watch. Never caught a name though.

Squid, I have no idea who made the A=> AAA jump. Petit is still at AA, and he's the best prospect we have now. Gaby Hernandez got bumped from Mid-A Hagerstown to High A St. Lucie and he just turned 19 a couple of months ago (pretty amazing).

Bannister started in Bingamhton. He did pitch in Brooklyn in 03.

I can't find any info either, but I've heard it on MLB radio on XM and my buddy mentioned it also the other day. Who knows.

I'll state this again although none of you have bought into it. If we can go at least 4-2 each week the rest of the way out, we will be in the playoffs.

nope, agents have started to tell college pitchers to hold out all the way until the deadline to sign before they are thown back into the draft. Happened with most of them last year and again this year.
