I wouldn't mind getting rid of Hinske.

      What a craptacular series.

I agree with you AF that after the payroll increase if this team isn't contending then JP's gone. I still wish the Jays had hired Terry Ryan or Walt Jocketty. Those two guys have had great success over the past recent years with middle market type of budgets.

As for Hinske.....This guy needs to be cut. I think the only reason (other then contract) that he's still around is because he's one of "JP's boys". JP doesn't like admit defeat.

I'm sure all Jay fans would agree Hinske's rookie season was abnormal. I would like to get rid of the guy but no team is going to touch his contract. He's set to make 4.33 mil in 06 and 5.63 in 07. Even if the Jays picked up half of his contract no team would want him. Any club could get "Hinske" production" from a player making the min.

Once Koskie comes back I expect Hinske to be glued to the bench. There's no way I'm sitting Hillenbrand or Hill on a regular basis.

I wouldn't sit hill that's for sure. But Shea I'm not so sure about.

General manager J.P. Ricciardi said that if someone has to sit, if egos have to be bruised, so be it.
We're not worried about egos any more. We're worried about putting the best team on the field that will allow us to win," Ricciardi said without referring specifically to Hinske. "You want to be in the lineup? You want to win? Do the things that allow you to win. It's not that hard."

                Hinske.

the man is a world class bum on the field tho he does seem like a nice guy overall.

More like Koskie at 3rd, Hill DH and Shea at first.

Aaron's been struggling a bit lately. Offensively, this month this team has been on fire. We still don't hit very well situationaly, but the runs are definatly coming. Wells and Shea have been offensive players of the month IMO.

Best of all, we get Koskie back after his rehab stint in Syracuse. Bye Bye Eric!

Also, I keep hearing that Roy is only about 2 and a half weeks away from coming back. I've herad people say august 4th is the date for a possible return.

Sadly, we were only 5-5 against the 3 worst teams in the AL. Losing the 2 series against Tampa and KC is inexcusable. The Jays should have been at LEAST 7-3 (3 from Tampa, 2 from Seattle and 2 from KC would have made me very happy - winning every series). Oh well.

On a more positive note... Jays win the first game against the Angels, 8-0. Koskie is back against the Angels going 1 for 4, and Chacin pitched an absolute gem . Glad to see the bats are going consistently in the last 20 games or so for the Jays.

Hearing Doc's return is great news. I heard he's starting to throw the ball around now. Unfortunately, Lilly misses his next start on Saturday. Hopefully the injury plague is over for the Jays. It would really be disappointing if the Jays are injured-plagued like last year with only around 60 games to go.

Quite simply, that was the best game of the season. Hopefully we sweep the Halos tomorrow. It seems like we do better on TSN telecasts as opposed to RSN telecasts. Anyway i'm sick of Jaime.
