You cannot user control all 30 teams in season mode, but you can still make trades for non user controlled teams and adjust their rotations.

Okay, that's one positive. But there's no Create-A-Player in this game?

I seem to be in the minority. I have absolutely no problem with the changes they've made.

For me, I'm glad they changed things around for MyGM. For me, Association mode was getting really boring the past few years. I'm really liking MyGM right now.

You must have great internet connection. For those of us without it, this pretty much means it'd be a waste of time to even buy next-gen 2K. Just not a smart business decision IMO. Really disappointed over this.

I've been buying NBA 2K since the Dreamcast. Although this is a stunningly beautiful game I think NBA 2K13 might be my last purchase. I picked up my PS4 this morning and was really looking forward to getting 2K14 next gen. But no create a player? That is a deal breaker. I've always created custom rosters with myself and my friends on them for years. The fact that I can no longer do this takes away any enjoyment I might have in a basketball game. I'm not sure who wanted a myGM mode where you manage the price of hot dogs but this isn't at all the direction I was hoping for. I only played Association mode and the only thing I wanted was for them to fix the trade and draft logic in the mode. myGM takes things way too far. And now having to need VC to play this mode? Another deal breaker.

I hope in future versions of this game 2K can reach some sort of compromise with its fan base. Making a multi-year season mode would fit the bill nicely where we could just play basketball and manage rosters on all 30 teams without the VC and RPG elements. Of course adding back create a player is a must. I would even be willing to purchase a DLC if create a player could be added to 2K14 next gen. I just hope 2K doesn't lose sight of the what got them here. Please put back the elements that made this series so popular and enjoyable. But as it stands right now I cannot purchase NBA 2K14 next gen.

Did they at least tune sim stats? Example: Top shot blockers average only 2 blocks, Chris Paul averaging 7 assist and also how are top rebounders. 2k is always up and down on rebound sim stats. Sometimes to low. Is potential the same? Is everything the same???

There has to be some under the hood improvements. Was mygm built from the ground up but they ported over association problems? How can it be built from the ground up but have the same exact problems as association? Makes ya think.

Exactly, LOL! I'm sorry but there's no way this can be defended in regards to gutting these things out. Why take out 30-team control and CAP? That makes no sense whatsoever. I'm not buying this 2K moved to Next-Gen and they're trying". You build on what you have. Those are key elements in sports games. Customization is everything.

Attention Original Poster: Not everyone wants what you want. I don't know why you feel the need to take to the forums to "Rant". Believe it or not DEVs do care about your feedback, but a post like this will never be read because of the way you approached it. Why you couldn't just post a professional paragraph about the things you don't like and why I have no idea.

The OP couldn't have expressed his discontent any more appropriate than he did. You simply didn't like what he had to say.

Newsflash.

Any dev that is reading and taking the communities complaints into consideration (*insert roll eyes gif here) are big boys and girls. They get paid to do a job, just like everyone else in this country. This society doesn't make exceptions to coddle health professionals, teachers, or any other occupation that deals with a hell of a lot more scrutiny daily than discontentment concerning a video game.

If you can't handle the criticism (especially criticism that was less than inflammatory) then step down and give your job to someone who can. Or take the starving artist route, because that is all you will be able to stomach if you're that fragile that a few paragraphs rattle your nerves.

That's all well and good and we appreciate it, but what about THIS year? This game just came out. So we're just supposed to accept that we got hosed (well, I haven't yet because I was waiting on reactions) and say, "Oh well, maybe next year?" Man, I'm getting too old for this stuff! Smh. LOL!

I am just being realistic. The issues I listed WONT be fixed in 2k14 NG, which sucks for guys who have the game. I stayed with CG for this very reason. There was NO info that showed the game would be improved. They put up some GREAT Graphic Shots and few details here and there, but i KNEW when questions kept going unanswered, their were going to be alot of problems with 2k14 NG.

I don't know why I keep writing about this. I truly wonder what happened to the people who worked on 2K6 and 2K11 and what happened afterwards, why did their mindset change? Did Take Two tell them to step up, change direction?

Whoever is in charge of the Dev team, is it still the same guy since 2006 or is it someone totally new?

Sometimes I think the developers don't have any connection to the actual game besides creating it. Of course it's sounds good on paper but in reality it isn't. I bet Ronnie and LD2K think this game is amazing but that's because they use codes or get free VC and unlock everything immediately. We've seen it before when he had a 93 rookie player at the draft.


This game could have been so good. I just don't get why they can leave basic stuff out and implement really difficult stuff. Doesn't make sense.

Gameplay/graphic devs deserve heaven; the problem is the rest.

In conclusion. .just stick with CG if you agree with the OP. No sense in going around and around about it? We just have to wait and see. Will they patch it? Who knows they probably can't. We have a stalemate. Some like NG some don't.
