Really 2k really. You screw with the gameplay itself now just to fit your story. Now they've gone too far. Plus smoove also mentioned the vc glitch where the he isn't giving him all of his vc, and I've noticed this as well. Smh I'm done with 2k, wake me if 2k15 is any good.
Lol I forgot to mention those. Yes this is very true. There's even one game where you can't make a jump shot to save your life and later your teammate comes and tries to cheer you up by practicing your shots. Beyond scripted.

The biggest problem I have with VC is that you can actually purchase VC with real money - remove that, and let everyone use whatever gear they wish, free of charge, within the confines of the single player game modes, and the problem's done away with.
Most dedicated or most moronic? you can't dedicate that much time to get a small amount of vc. If someone has a closet full of clothes they paid for it. That's not most dedicated and this is where the problem lies. They obviously reward VC purchasers and punish the ones who paid only 60.

Would really like to believe this but seeing as I maxed out my free throws and always release them at a perfect release, then suddenly some perfect releases are missing makes you wonder.

Not only that but I was getting fouled for any little thing (lebron treatment) just so I can go to the line and Dwight Howard the game. I Dont know about that.

Then let me ask, why is it some games i am just destined to miss, no matter what. Now I understand having off games, but something that has caught my attention, not only in 2k14, but in 13 and 12 is that i have played some games where i can't buy a shot too save my life. So i just figured i was cold for the game. But one game in particular, the server went down for mycareer(thinking about it this had to be 2k13 when i experienced this) and my game didn't save. So when i went back and played the game over again, i was still missing my shots horribly. So figuring i'd try something, I played the same game again, and I still couldn't by a basket. After doing the game over about 3-4 xs i finally came to conclusion(as if i really needed to play it that many times over to see this) that some how the game has already decided that i would go cold for the game. And it wasn't just that one time, its happen to me several times on 13 and at once or twice in 14 already. Specific games in and of themselves may not be "scripted", but something predetermined is obviously going on here, because i am not the only person this has happened to.

Punishment...? Again with the hyperbole. If someone values the extra items that much and is willing to pay, isn't that their prerogative? If 2K reversed the structure, I'd think you'd be complaining that much more. It's not perfect and none of us would want to pay extra for anything - ideally we'd all like to be paying less for these games in general. But reality is what it is; most publishers/developers are trying to figure out new avenues for revenue. That's something that shouldn't be ignored. I think no matter what 2K does, there would always be some contingent complaining loudly. They were one of the last companies to get in on the microtransaction train from a sports game standpoint. I remember when the only pay-for-content they had was the $5 Draft Combine, and people complained based on principle. 2K could've easily gone the pay-content route with the Legends years ago and didn't. And still hasn't.

lol there's nothing 2K can say that will appease some of you because you're gonna believe what you want to believe. You want them to respond, they respond, then you say you don't believe them, I assume because you're never going to allow yourself to agree with what they've done. It's your right of course. I just wouldn't expect them to respond to everything when it's likely there's nothing they can say that will make some of you happy

Question, is it just me or the PA announcer sounds very very low? I can't even hear him properly, I know for sure it's not my TV. Anyone else having that issue? I even messed around with the TV broadcast settings and still can't hear it that well. Anyone else experiencing this?

Try changing your presentation settings and raise the PA volume.

Edit: you probably did that did you lower the other sounds as well?

That's fine and dandy and all and well yes its their prerogative. But I paid 60 dollars that I am getting no enjoyment out of because the game is built in a way to make you pay more. These aren't micro transactions, these are manipulated ways to make you spend more. I bought a game and I should be able to enjoy it as intended like I have with my previous 2k games (before vc) without purchasing anything extra. But when you constantly receive miniscule amounts of vc for all the hard work you put into the game it becomes a chore, its not fun anymore. Its something you begin to just shrug off. I love basketball but every passing year I hate basketball games.

You're confusing mirco transaction with what 2k is doing. Micro transaction is put in to give you a little head start an incentive.

Think games that let you purchase new masks (the last of us) maybe some different kind of guns, or gta by purchasing money to buy things. Now although they offer these as mirco transactions, You do not need to purchase this to enjoy the game or play as it was intended. You'll still have other free masks other things to customize your character. But in 2k EVERYTHING requires vc. And seeing as you only make enough for one sleeve and Nike's halfway into a mode is ridiculous. And that's not even building your characters stats yet.

but if you play the game long enough you should get what you want. In 2k I was half way into my career(about 30 something games) and accumulated only 15k total vc. That is one arm sleeve, some nikes, and maybe a shirt. And I've spent 4 days playing the mode. Come on now, seriously this doesn't make you wonder?

I Dont expect him to know how the game was programmed but its alarming that we all have the same experience at about the same time. Its hard to believe we all coincidentally shot poorly from the free throw line at the exact same time, think about it.

Dude why do you respond to him.

No offense to spankdatazz but your will for defending 2k is just as strong as the guys you claim never let 2k win. I mean, some things do get blown out of proportion with this game, and other things are legit complaints. yet you still defend them right or wrong. But this argument in general just seems pointless.

Dont know him personally but I felt I made some more valid points that just came to me on this train and felt it needed to be stated lol.

The micro transaction argument is one that needs to be addressed because it is not the same thing. You can't compare this vc system to dlc, or micro transactions. Two completely different things.

I don't take any offense to it. And nor should you guys. I wasn't trying to justify it as I've said preferably I'd prefer to not have to pay anything. It's the level of contempt being shown relative to what the game is overall, that I don't agree with. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, no biggie - we're discussing a videogame for goodness sakes. I think most people have said they'd prefer these things not be in the game, but you've seen some people say it's not as bad as it's being made out to be.

A few years ago I went through and itemized what the costs would be to get the "full" version of various games and it opened my eyes to where games were heading then. I wouldn't even try to do it now, as there's no way to figure out what the costs would be.

Last I looked a sleeve costs 800 VC, and with a shoe deal in MyCareer, shoes are free. So for argument's sake let's say you bought white/black arm sleeves and leg sleeves for home/away games, you still have ~13000 VC to spend on attributes. That'd give you an overall rating of +80. Is that really so horrible? Do you really have to purchase VC to enjoy the game?

Like I said, there's a lot of work that should go into balancing the VC system if it's gonna stay. But I don't feel like it's a gamebreaker that you have to spend 7500 hard earned VC for a pair of sneakers to use in The Park (you can't use purchased sneakers in MyCareer without a shoe deal, and like I said, once you've got a shoe deal, they're free).

It's not about "what is my preferred mode"
It's about "I pay 60$ for 4 main modes (MyPlayer, MyGm, MyTeam & the Park) and I want to be able to ENJOY (not just playing) ALL OF THEM without being forced to spend real extra money"
I know, I've been keeping saying this concept a lot, but to me this is the main (and probably only) issue with current 2k products

What's the solution here then? To me it seems like the entire mode (MyTeam) hinges on using some form of currency to add players. I still say VC isn't a bad idea per sé, it just needs balancing.
