    Re: NBA 2k15 Beluba Q&A

there is one question i've been dying to know the answer to since last year when the park was introduced...

this year they're called badges and you must earn them in offline mycareer. do they have any effect on your myplayer, then, in the park (or jordan rec center) online?

The flow of a set-play is often interrupted when you don't get close enough with your defender to the cpu-player who has the ball in hands. If you set on ball pressure to medium it is very likely that the play isn't properly executed. Even the short interruption of a play (by not beeing close enough at the ballhandler) has a severe effect to the flow of the play, because i think that the off-ball actions (cuts, picks, etc.) aren't triggered by the position of the ball (state of the play) but run independent (Say: Play has a duration of x seconds and has x actions performed by x players. Once it is initiated by beeing in the blue circle, it runs and the actions of the ball and the actions off-ball aren't in synch anymore).

Do not agree. I think too many people play the game ignoring real life conditions. If the ball is not in your hand, how can you expect to get a pump fake immediately?

Mike, do you or do you not own the Live 10 "engine"? 😈

          Thank you.
This drives me crazy. I hate pausing or calling timeout just to see how tired someone is or waiting for the gatorade sign.

Mike, is there anything in the patch that helps with the way PG's bring the ball up court?

Foul situations. I average maybe 15 fts a game and I have all the fouls up. That's just not realistic. Is there a temporary way to fix this? Will this be addressed in the patch?

              Thanks in advance Beluba.

EDIT: Nvm. Just saw your answer for this.

                Mike,

                1. Can you let me know whether the shot stick release for perfect release is tied to some stats or something? I have a problem getting some guys to get a perfect release from 3pt range who are good shooters.
                2. Are some guys glitched to be impossible to get perfect released for a reason? I am talking good shooters or guys at least with 80+ 3pt rating.

I have not been able to get a perfect release from 3pt range with Diaw, Green and Mills. It will be right on the meter but early or right on the meter and late never perfect. I was in the practice mode HOF sim and I just couldn't get it. I am talking 15 minutes each. If it is me let me know, but if it is not can it be patched.

Parker HOF Sim yes perfect release 3pt
Bellini HoF Sim yes perfect release 3pt
Bonner HOF Sim yes perfect release 3pt
Duncan yes Sim yes perfect release mid, fadeaway
Leonard yes Sim yes perfect release 3pt
Ginobli yes Sim yes perfect release 3pt
                Diaw NO
                Mills NO
                Green NO

                3. I have also found some guys to be very very easy to get perfect releases at least in practice mode like Kobe.

                  Mike,

First of all I want to thank you for a quality game, yet again, also, the interaction is a fantastic thing. I can't stress enough how much we as a community surely appreciate it, even if we don't show it nearly enough.

Few questions, hopefully you're able to get to them.

                  1. Is the 'line sub' situation being addressed any time soon? Very rarely is there a situation where there are 5 man subs made in the first quarter of a basketball game.

                  2. Was there functional reason behind changing the controls to call a play from the buttons to the D-pad? I can't see any plausible reason that the dev team thought this was a game improvement. Especially for us PS4 users

                  3. What was the motivation behind showing PSN/GT names online instead of the name of the actual player name? Is there any way that this can be modified or reversed? I actually liked it better when I didn't know whether my opponent was playing on/off ball. Seemed more realistic that way, to me.

                  4. I know it's already been touched on, but is there any possibility that the stamina AND foul situation for each player can be added back to the D-pad sub menu? I understand that there is an issue regarding the lack of fouls called in general, but this was something that was changed a few years back and I don't see how it enhances the experience.

                  5. Fouls in general, is there any way that you guys can look into more aggressively implementing the things below in the future? Perhaps a 'SUPER SIMULATION' setting...
                  http://www.operationsports.com/forum...gs-matter.html

I understand that there's a high probability that you don't have time to answer all of these as in depth as I would like, but any feedback would be welcome. Thank you in advance Beluba.

Beluba thank you for answering so many questions.

My question is - why does the CPU AI shoot so few 3 pointers? Do you have any suggestions on how to get them to shoot more 3s?

Follow-up Question - When I pass to a player at the 3 point line, that guy used to set his feet behind the 3 point line as before he caught the pass. It seems like the AI controlled teammates don't do that anymore as I get a lot of shots with my toes on the line.

Can you guys add this back in?

                        Re: NBA 2k15 Beluba Q&A

Hey Mike, congrat on making a great game. I can honestly say this is the first time since 2k7 that i enjoy playing 2k15. All the talk and me ranting about cannimation and not being able to control the player in the game seems to be solved. So far i have played over 150 online ranked games and won more than 100 and I can tell you that the CPU offensive rebound is overpowered. Many times I was clearly in front of the man and boxed out and yet the defender for whatever reason was able to manuever his way to get the rebound. This is CPU vs HUMAN!! And this dude is no Dwight Howard.

2nd question: Is it true that you have to hold longer online to make shot?? Many times i hold the button pretty long and yet shot indicator says, "slightly early"? Just saying...but i have no problem with it.

3rd question: After a shot is made, why do you have the CPU inbound the ball at the center spot in front of the basket every time? In real life, player inbound it anywhere closest to where they're at in that particular spot. The reason i say this is because sometimes i lose ball ended up on the right side of the court, the CPU pick up the ball and had to jog to the middle ....but he could have just stay right there and inbound the ball instead of jogging to the middle under the basket.

4th question: Does charging ever work in this game? So far, all the charges i seen seems to be CPU generated. In other words, if i commit myself manually to take a charge (although i rarely try), will it work if someone try to dunk over me?

                          Re: NBA 2k15 Beluba Q&A

Hello Mike and thank you for answering community questions. I apologize for my English it's not my primary language.

I have some question regarding gameplay (5 vs 5) and I hope you can answer:

                          OFFENSE:
1.) Why do we have so many non-user initiated animation? For example my guy hits ordinary jumper in first quarter and he goes into celebration animation like it was a game winning shot and slowly walk (not run) back to defense, even if I don't want him to do it. Consequently CPU has a chance to execute fast break and they DO execute fast break -> easy points for CPU. Is it possible that user initiate celebration animation (idea for 2K16 -> same button applies to complaining -> technical foul for over using)?

2.) When bringing the ball into attack area (using turbo) I've noticed auto animation (player waiving hands like he's calling a play), which slows me down. This auto animation occurs soon after I crossed middle court line. I've also noticed sluggish player movement left or right side of the court near 3pt line. Why we don't have freedom of movement there?

3.) Passing. Why is that when you pass the ball to the curling teammate using "lead pass", the receiver goes into weird slow catching animation which allows the defender to close up and contest the shot? I have countless situation when my player was 4-5 meters (yea I am European) in front of his defensive match-up only to see slow catching animation and then contested shot animation.

3.) Passing. Why is CPU able to intercept a pass from the side of the key to the low post player? For example you see your player "alone" in a good low-post position and you pass the ball. As soon as you hit the button, the defender (which is behind your player) miraculously intercept the ball.

4.) Bounce pass with wrong hand. Many of my turnovers comes from fact that system use wrong hand to pass the ball. For example if I am on the right side of the court and I want to pass the ball to the low post player on the right side, my player use chest bounce pass (which of course ended in the defender body). Is it possible to control which hand to use for pass?

5.) Court size. Why don't you increase the size of the court or make smaller players or make player movement near corners less explosive? I am having problem with executing TRIANGLE offense (passing from side top of the key to the low-post player), due to wing player who can defend his guy and preventing passing to the low-post player.

6.) Court spacing and standing. Why is that your teammates are standing well behind 3pt line? It's like you are running 4 vs 5 game... Or why is that your teammates tends to stick together allowing opposing team to use only one player to defend two guys?

                          DEFENSE
1.) CPU dribble spam or CPU player doing crossovers/behind the back/size ups to move into the paint like you doesn't exist. Literally I've seen Manu Ginobili (and not only him) spamming all that moves in the paint with the ball in my defenders body until he finds enough room to pull up. Why is this type of spamming not a turnover?

2.) Going into post mode allows CPU to gain ground in the paint. Why is defender unable to hold ground when player goes from normal dribbling into post mode?

3.) Player has some strange responsiveness when the ball is loose. Like he's moving in the sand in one area of the court (near sidelines) or gaining 5-10 meters (near middle lines) on the other areas of the court. Why is that?

                          Thank you for your answers...

PS: Please make some effort for Online Leagues!! We need them bad in 2k15 (and in 2k16).

Is anything being done to speed up the game, in terms of how long the referee takes to give the ball to the inbounder? It seems that maybe 5 times or more per game, the referee just hangs onto the ball for 30 seconds, then gives it to the inbounder.

Or bizzare situations happen where the referee holds the ball for 30 seconds, gives it to the cpu player to inbound and then the team immediately calls a timeout.

Also, will anything ever be done to "call off" an intentional foul? There have been many situations when I've been trying to call a timeout on the defensive end while my opponent is inbounding the ball, only to realize that I can't call one and all of a sudden all my players go towards the inbounder and get into "intentional foul mode"

This is super annoying, if you press L1 and R1 once, then press it again, it should nullify this. There should be a way to cancel a intentional foul call, especially in these situations.

Also, can anything be done to fix the responsiveness of the alley oops buttons? I constantly find myself shooting a jumper when I press the alley oops button combo with the Square button on the ps4. This is very frustrating.

And the alley oops button combo with the Triangle button never produces an alley oop, and it is also not responsive, because it puts me into "post up" mode half the time when I try to use that combination.

                              1. Yea i thought the celebration was hilarious. I specially find the one where they keep showing the jump straight up in the air w/ stiff looking landing animation funny lol...like when Durant or Westbrook made a big shot, Perkins would show off that celebration. And afterward, you can't control them as far as playing defense.

                              3. I think the passing is fine though. Many times in real NBA, it does slow you down a bit when you catch the ball on the fly. I do think that the alley oop is a bit overpowered though. Can you break off the alley oop? Definitely, but there are times I feel like I was in front of the man and yet still got dunked on.

Hello Mike, I have three questions for you.

                                1. Walk up animation - Being heavy handed, it's hard to trigger consistently. Is there anything I can do on my end, such as turning down speed etc?

                                2. 5 second inbound violation - is there a reason this isn't called against the AI?

It ruins close games, if I don't have a timeout left and it's not enough time to go for an on ball trap/steal, the objective is force the AI into making a bad pass. As is there is no panic to get the ball inbounds if the inbounder is under pressure, the AI will just calmly wait it out as if it knows it will not be called against them.

                                3. Question for late game situations

Are you guys looking at this for next year

                                * 0.2 on the clock - AI should attempt a lob at the basket for a tip in

*0.4 - AI should attempt a catch and shoot

2.0 - AI star player quick Iso

2.5 or great - Quick play

                                Thanks.

Edit: AI won't recognize a mismatch in the post, allowing for ex. user controlled Dwight Howard to back down Chris Paul with no help at all.
