Honestly I grew up playing NCAA games and always improvised and easily won. Popped in the game yesterday and having a hell of a time trying to play like that but that's the easiest way outside of fast breaks to do it.

Also I would say to keep an eye for anyone cutting to the basket. If you see that double tap Y (if on X1) and you'll get an alllyop chance.

Outside of that just be patient and move the ball looking for the open man or anyone cutting

How do you hit cutters besides an alley oop? It feels like i'm getting every single pass tipped or stolen when trying to pass it to a cutter or someone getting into the interior.

Yea but not very often. Is that the only way to this a cutting player in the paint? The lob pass takes too long.

To start off I usually play mycareer or just play now. I've been having a lot of dribbling troubles and I know I'm at least some (probably the majority) of the problem.

1. Often when I do a dribble move and then try to drive I just run into the defender and get a charge. I feel like the defender is slightly to the side of me when i start to drive so I should be able to slip past him but I am often called for a charge. Really big problem in mycareer for me because I'm getting about 2-3 charges per game which can really put a damper on things. Advice on not picking up so many charges?

2. When i try a behind the back dribble it often results in the ball getting knocked away. I'm assuming this is bad timing on my part, but when should i be trying to execute the move?

My stick skills are def not expert but I find if you really exaggerate your drive it helps. As in, don't try to run beside the defender but run in a wider circle to the rim.

What camera angle do you use? Try playing around with the different camera angles and controller settings to find what is more natural for you

Is there a way to run plays for yourself the same way you can run plays in Play Now?

As a post up C for example, how do you run a post up play for yourself other than just calling for the ball. I find when calling for the ball, it's not really a "play" as your team isn't set up in the same way. Also, since it is not a "play", my AI teammate will sometimes post up right beside me like wtf.

Hi guys,

I have a couple of quick question about running plays, hope somebody can help. For context, I play MyLeague with the Cavs and I have adjusted their playbook to just those plays that I think fit my playing style (about 20 plays). I have set "call offensive plays" to "Auto" and also set Running Plays Frequency from the default 80% to 100% in the Coaching Sliders. The questions are:

a) Sometimes when I start my offence I can see the specific play that is being called (e.g., "ISO 1 Go"), which helps me know what's coming. But sometimes, many times actually, it simply says "Cavaliers" (the playbook) which is not helpful as I don't know what play is coming and I have to sort of figure it out as it evolves (which is generally just a plain P&R). What do I need to do so that specific plays are called each time?
b) I have the impression that sometimes plays that are not in my Custom playbook are being called despite the fact that my offensive set is set to "Default" (my current playbook). Is this possible?

It seems like the AI throws in freelance offense mix with playbook. I suppose u have ACE turned on. Who did u set as your offensive focus i.e Play through Star? To call for specific plays u will need to manually call it. To have the AI calling the plays from playbook for a specific player u could set your offensive focus.

Plays outside playbook - Havent experienced before.

No preference - AI will random pick a play from playbook. If u choose someone as offense focus, AI will run plays for that player more frequently, and will base on the Play Type. Say PNR Handler is assigned to K. Irving, and yor Offense Focus is Play Through K. Irving, u will see more PNR plays runing for him at start if game.

Cav could be the Freelance that AI throw into the mix. If u have ACE enabled, the AI may default to Freelance offense over the plays from playbook to attack, depending on the opposing team line-up. I will suggest u turn off ACE and see if it helps.

Setting to Auto if u want ease of mind and let the AI call the plays for u. Say if u saw Freelance play is called and u dont want to run it, manual call a quick play for a player. Say if Lbj has a mismatch, run Post Up quick play for him.

How do I cancel a cut (hold triangle)? Sometimes I want a player to cut but the game chooses the wrong player. I can't seem to cancel the action and I almost always turn it over.
