It would be nice to have the shot meter only available for Freestlye/MyCourt (to practice your release, and in actual games, you have something else to replace the shot meter.

Idk... just an idea..

Me personally, I don't have any issues with the shot meter.

And y'all can blame all of this green light nonsense on NBA 2k15.

It's unfortunate but as far as MyTeam/Pro-Am/Park go, there's only so much you can do to tweak the shooting because at the end of the day all those HOF badges and 100 percent green release will still be a huge factor. At least the offline guys can edit their rosters and tweak the sliders/difficulty. I'd love for them to scrap the HOF badge tier next year and keep it to 3 levels.

I for one can't wait until they scrap the green release nonsense next year. The idea of any jumpshot in basketball having a 100 percent chance of going in seems ridiculous and the complete opposite of "sim" to me. The whole concept of the green releases just poisoned the community, imo. It's not even about basketball anymore, just who can get the most badges and best animations smh. 2K14 had it right. A green release just meant you timed the shot right, that's it. God I miss that game.

When 2k changed excellent release to perfect release, that created a sematic conundrum. Because perfect, implies you should make the shot no matter what. Then when 2k releases a game where green = automatic make, that adds another sense of entitlement to the casual/arcade crowd. But like some people have stated, if they added green releases for everything else, the complaining would be legendary. 2k has to stop catering to the lowest common denominator, especially since their going the route of esports. Online lacks depth and skill.

It also is ridiculous to see people like agent00 complaining that sharpshooters are dead now and other nonsense, when they can put up 100 plus points by themselves by shooting deep and running around screens the whole game

No idea what's up with today's tuning, but this might be the deadliest my Shot Creator has felt all year. I've been putting up about 25-30 points average in Walk On all day, and I'm not even trying to.

Yea i think it was a mistake for wang to say "this will be the last tuning" here - he pretty much closed himself to more experimenting. Which i for one don't care since 2k18 is not long from now. Experiment away for all i care.

I wonder if 2k could organize a sort of closed version of 2k17 for testers all year long - i guess you could call it "test realm".

Before any changes are done to the legit game - players on this closed version would vote on whether they are good or not - whether they have bugs or not etc.

The audience would probably have to be a split between sim and arcade players - players that have played 2k for years and are mature and not willing to let their personal preferences get in the way of legit testing. Obviously the likely danger would be if an arcade player decides to give feedback he prefers for his playstyle.

I just think arcade players are horrible people to ask for such things. They just want what benefits them.

On the other side sim players just want a legit - competitive - balanced -
basketball experience.

It just seems logical to ask sim guys above arcade since they aren't in it to be "THE GOAT CAN'T STOP ME TOO STRONG OWN YALL"

But oh well - 2k just mostly caters to whiny arcade players. Who want everything easy.

I do think this idea would be worth looking at though - because constantly making game changing decisions on the real game does look like a bad look in terms of game stability.

Anyways - wang - i get that you said that this will be the last shooting tune.

But does it have to be the last change? - if so - if you are not satisfied with this tune. If sim people hate it and it's just pretty much what you were trying to fix in the first place.

Then please - keep trying to fix other aspects - such as defense.

If an aspect of basketball is too strong - then it's logical to try and counterbalance it with an aspect that correlates to it. AKA defense.

Sure let them make shots - but atleast allow us to defend it better. And there you go. We have better balance.

Balance doesn't have to be "Make this aspect equally as weak" - it can also be "Make this aspect strong enough to be able to better contend this one".

There are badges to help low offensive stat players to play better offense - the least you could do is give a boost to defense to balance this out. IMO.

Just too much favoring offense.

Honestly, as far as I'm seeing, I'm fine with it for the time being. I'll get a bit more sample size tonight, but I was seeing a good mixed amount of makes and misses.

Simply tuning down HOF Brick Wall (everyone who has played this year knows it's stupidly strong, even overriding HOF Pick Dodger most of the time) and the potency of Pick & Roll Maestro alone stops Playmakers and Sharpshooters (as we all know, 99% of the Sharpshooters in this game can't operate without 2-3 screens) from completely dominating the game, and brings a lot more balance.

I'm glad you will consider making more changes if necessary - it's all about the long term at the end of the day. 2k17 won't last forever. No 2k does.

So i for one rather you get a feel for what both communities are satisfied with - and once you find that place hopefully it can stay for years to come. Everything learned in this 2k i imagine will just make the next 2k better.

The goal should be a 2k everyone loves and has few negatives. Obviously you guys do some amazing work from a creating the platform aspect. We are spoiled because of what we already have so we look beyond.

The difficulty is obviously making everyone satisfied atleast. I say satisfied because "happy" is likely not gonna happen. There will likely always be complaints from both sides.

But atleast both sides being satisfied would certainly work. I know several people - including myself. That have been frustrated with this years 2k several times. And took a break as a result. Hopefully those experiences happen less in future installments.

You guys also have Esports now - which i imagine will create way more pressure. Will be interesting too see how that plays out.

On to testing.

Is the Shot Meter broken again? I'm getting Very Late releases on shots that are nowhere near late.

A very wise course of action IMHO; anytime there is a change there needs to be a feeling out period for people to get used to the new settings before you can get a good handle of how things will play out in the long run.

You're telling me that you want to be on the team of the dude going for his deep range deadeye HOF and limitless range badges? That sounds fun. People play like idiots enough as it is. Having to watch people go for their badges while playing like idiots sounds unplayable.

In that scenario the requirements wouldn't be so severe as in mycareer. No reason to have to chuck up 50 per game to get a badge. Or just give you the badges that match your archetype. Or take out badges all together for all i care. What DOESNT sound fun is playing 82 games just to get to the game mode you actually have fun playing. MyCareer is so fun i've literally never finished a full season + playoffs on any of my characters... not a single one.

So am I. If so much 'community feedback' was taken for Patch 12, then how Brick Wall and PnR Maestro was missed is beyond me. Those have been two big complaints ALL YEAR.

This has already been called out as a bad idea enough times but I'll do it again. The guys who play this are already toxic players in both gameplay and personality. THE LAST thing 2K need to do right now is encourage guys to take that trash into a online game where they can ruin other people's experiences to get a badge or attribute. I don't know if you have played park this year but there is a badge that you GT for hitting a certain amount of game winners that once you get it increases your odds on future game winners, and I cannot tell you how many times I've seen guys blow games for their team because they wasted 4, 5, or how ever many possession bricking a three trying to get the game winner. And those guys usually are easy to spot as they won't pass even in a double team but will just run side to side until they get a turnover or brick. Or the guy who ignores his team and doesn't care about winning as long as he gets to dribble for 15+ sec and make his guy fall to get the bone collector badge.

Just take the badges out all together then, or just let you pick 3 - 5 badges at a time that you can just have based on archetype. Pro Am would probably be better off without badges.

It's not about getting rid of badge altogether, it's just about not letting people get so darn many, and balancing them. Take it back to 2k14 and let people pick 5-7 badges TOTAL. Pick your 5-7 badges that fit your playstyle, and that's all you get. None of this 20+ badges junk, which was a terrible idea to begin with.

Yeah this update was bad. I basically couldn't miss jumpers with the Spurs. Only played 1 PNO game so I don't know for sure. My opponent seemed to hit shots at a high percent as well. He also had the Spurs.

Spurs are fun! They are my go to PNO team. I don't shoot to much though I play mostly through the post with Pau and LMA by when I do I can't hit poop. Maybe it's just me but Green is just so unreliable. Everyone else if good for me though, I think I shoot more with Manu than anyone else on the team.
