Yeah, they did. That's why I guess it doesn't bug me. Green jersey with 11 at a school called St. Patrick's. Dude was born to be a Celtic. Hahaha. [emoji13] I could see how it looks weird though. He's been wearing 2 for awhile.

Him and MKG tore it up. Their highlight reels are still awesome.

2k hasn't had the rights to MSG & TD for a while now. I remember they had to patch MSG out the game this was like 2k9.

I know they can't use sponsor name and logo, but does this affect colors too ? I wouldn't think so, but I have no idea.

No, It doesn't. The accuracy of courts and arenas have been a sore spot for 2K for as long as I can remember. I was hoping that the attention to visual authenticity this year it would extend to courts and arenas, but clearly it hasn't.

I honestly don't see huge issues in your defense concerns. I don't think the correct play in the embiid scenario was to cheat up on either side. Heyward box out was late, but in line with real basketball. He should've taken one extra step out earlier, but I'm taking into context one single clip.

The play looked like a clear ISO post up for Embiid, and I think cheating from the defense either way also gives up a mid range 2. You could only cheat a step off your guy, you won't make it to embiid to disrupt the shot, especially after he cleared space. I feel like this was an alright way to approach this possession. Alternatively I would hope one or 2 of those would lead to a double team, but again, 1 clip.

I don't understand your problem with the Kyrie lay up either. Irving is met at the rim and finishes, while help opens up a dump pass 3 to a guy who shot 35% from 3 last season, or a pull up mid range. There's not much you can help on that shot. In a scenario where Kyrie gets middle penetration like that, you can't really help.

Center should pick up the drive, one wing should rotate to pick up the dump pass to the C, and kyrie's defender rotates to cover the wing gap. Even then, that's still on Kyrie for finishing a circus shot on good contact.

Once again though: This needs to be in larger sampling. The rotating didn't happen. But what happens next time down the court? Is this what happens every time? More over, what difficulty is this? These are a ton of questions that need to get answered before we bust out pitchforks.

I know you're actively hunting for stuff to call 2k out on, and that's good. The community needs people doing that. I'm concerned you're looking too hard at things without knowing what's controlling them under the hood or how isolated of an event they are. We also don't know the build that trailer was made using. So, a lot can be way different.

No disrespect, keep doing what your doing, but maybe don't let it get too overblown in your mind until you can for sure know if it's an actual issue, yanno?

Have to agree. You also see Reggie had a running head start beyond half court before he went into his cross while Irving was operating from a dead stop in the half court. As far as the cheating defense concerns the score is 4-2 in the 1st and I think it may be too early to start cheating towards/doubling The Process. The guys on the perimeter are JJ Redick and Saric and I don't think you want to cheat off of them. Irving is checking Fultz(I think) and I don't think you want to leave him wide open. I think strawberry is right that Gordon should have atleast blocked out Simmons. I think you have to also take into account the ratings of these players. NBA Players don't always do the right thing in every situation otherwise NBA teams would average about 70 points a game due to perfect defense and proper defensive rebounding on every possession..

I know I already addressed both of these comments that were in response to my earlier post, but I wanted to address them one more time with good reason.

I decided to reinstall NBA2k14 (PS4) yesterday and give it a test run strictly because of the "2k17 substitution thread." I wanted to see a previous 2k timeout substitution menus. Decided what the heck, let's put on a game and honestly I was amazed by what I encountered. It actually killed several birds with one stone so to speak.

(1) Cheating, help, anticipatory defense was absolutely fantastic. This is probably why this was probably the most difficult challenge I've ever had in a 2k basketball game. And why 2k17 was the easiest ever on HOF.
(2) Layup rim physics was fantastic. Yes, the ball actually hits the rim on plenty of made and miss layups, lots of layups rim physic variety.
(3) The ability to blow by the defender without being "stuck" was fantastic. Even someone like me that wasn't skilled on the stick could blow by the defender without being stuck was fantastic.
(4) Ball physics, loose ball physics.
(5) The halftime show was fantastic, in game studio updates was fantastic. I still love the current halftime show in 2k17, but a lot of the 2k14 element needs to be brought back.
(6) Lighting was pretty phenomenal.

Most Important Part of this post: Cheating, Help, Anticipatory Defense
Look at the below NBA2k14 footage. Check out some of the animations, contextual animations, player awareness, floor awareness, anticipatory awareness. You don't have to "hug" your assigned man near the perimeter like they're doing in 2k17 (and possibly 2k18). You can still keep an arms reach with your man in 2k14, provide anticipatory help defense when it calls for it. Clamping down the paint.

First sequence: Look at how Curry is defending the 3 point shooter in the first sequence. Look at how Iggy is also defending the 3 point shooter in the first sequence. Both Curry and Iggy are also anticipating the post paint game.

Second sequence: Look at Curry and Klay cheating towards the post. Look at Iggy defending the perimeter shooter, and potentially anticipating the paint.

Bulls vs Pacers

Then there's some more sequence down below Bulls vs Pacers. Just check out the defenders on each sequence giving anticipatory cheat help defense, clamping down the paint. Protecting the paint, but still within arms reach of the perimeter. Still able to recover and guard the perimeter without having to "hug" the assignments. There's an isolation play where the defender still shrink the floor and anticipate clamping down the paint but still protecting the perimeter, there's a couple plays specific to the post (post play). Everything just feels and looks appropriate. It just looks so much more like what I would expect to see on TV.

For what it's worth, Fox Sports ranked all the teams home courts last year, and the official court designs that they used for their pictures looks like the same color as 2K.
