AI Teammate defense is still awful. Leaving 3 pt shooters wide open for no reason at all. Such a disappointment.

What difficulty and team were you using? If a person/team is a terrible defender/defensive team, chances are a lot of open threes are gonna happen, especially if a team you're playing has shooters.

Also personally playing in All-Star, SS, or HoF, teams will tend to abuse weaknesses in your defense (I haven't played in anything under those difficulties idk how it is with the lower difficulties). For example, The All-Time Rockets were killing me in the paint with Yao and Hakeem so I switched to zone 2-3, the AI then took out Yao, put in T-Mac and Kenny Smith in and shot me out the game within a couple of minutes. This game is realistic.

Tl;dr: Your teammate defense might look stupid, but its a result of the game trying to replicate the fact that not everyone in the league is a Bruce Bowen type. People like Dame and Harden exist too.

I'm struggling with the post game a bit. Coming from PS3 the current moves are tougher to figure. I wish you still had the option to practice post moves.

Absolutely loving this game, the gameplay is A+++

Although MyCareer is abit gimmicky and the cut scenes can be annoying, im loving playing the games so far (on all-star currently).

Used the VC i got with the Shaq edition preorder to make my PG Shot creater/Drive and Finisher an 80ish and have gotten him to an 85 currently. I just got moved into the starting line up a couple of games ago.

Just had my best game against the Bulls, Wade lit us up early and even Cam Payne was giving me the business (). I started off slow, and we got into an early deficit. I went to the bench towards the end of the 1st Q and our bench got the lead back to only 5. It was back and forth until halftime, and we were down 4 at the break.

Second half i went absolutely off, as did Lavine who was my direct match up. We went head to head and it was AWESOME. Seemingly every play they ran was to get him open, and i ran alot of plays for myself (my bad). The game went to 3 overtimes, we were down by 3 with 4 seconds left in the 2nd overtime with the ball at halfcourt, i ended up draining a pull up 3 on the buzzer to tie it up, BEST feeling, the crowd went nuts.

We ended up winning by 4 and i dropped 61 with 12 rebounds and 7 assists.

I cant believe some dont like shooting man....I'm pretty sure It's my favorite version...that little vibration just feels perfect...

Played the Bucks on hof 2 games in a row. I think the shooting sliders could be lowered some. The first game they hit 22 threes on me. The second game they hit 12. The efg of these games were not in line with the skills of the players.

Game DOES NOT need patching. But i think lowering the slider to 45 for the 4 shot sliders would help the realism.

I believe he might be referring to that Otto Porter Jr scenario where the AI defense is programmed to "dare" a shooter to take the 3 point perimeter shot. Your teammate purposely camps directly under the rim while the opposing CPU is standing completely wide open at the corner three.

The transition defense unfortunately is no where near realistic at this point. It still remains an exploit because the defense is not currently programmed to properly stop these long outlet passes. In addition, the way the offense is programmed also makes it extremely difficult on the offense.

I understand why everyone is scared to pull the trigger on changes with the game playing well right now and after last years debacle.

Speaking of that game, it was one of the most enjoyable games I have ever had online...and I was getting killed by Shaq and Frobe. I made some defensive setting chnages and made a 4th quarter cone back to come up short...but it's one I dont even mind losing.

I'm good with saying it now- 2K18 is more fun than I ever had with 17 and is sneaking up on 16s throne as my favorite next gen version really quick. I honestly don't have much on court to gripe about...and I'm having fun.

I can’t make excuses for superstar difficulty anymore. The AI is cheap, plain and simple, at least when it comes to shooting.

Playing against the hornets, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrirst with his 41 3 PT rating just hit three contested corner threes in a row.

I’m talking hand in face, he does a stumbling animation when taking the shot, nothing but net swish shots from deep.

This is nonsense, and it’s happening with all kinds of horribly rated 3 point shot players. There’s no excuse for MKG to hit contested 3 point shots. I’m talking about smothering D, hand in the face 3 point shots.

Why? So the AI can stay in the game? I haven’t tried any other difficulty levels, but I’m so sick and tired of non shooting players making these fadeaway, contested hand in the face shots all the time, while I got Kyrie Irving missing wide open gimmes at the basket.

Might have to drop down to All Star because this is getting absolutely ridiculous

in the post you can fake a defender into the air and he can still make you miss the shot, i dont know about you, but i seen alot of shaquille oneal games, and when he faked someone into the air, he was able to finish 99% of the time if he was close under the rim

defenders can react too quick on block attempts in the post, almost like no body is being put on or into them

I've been playing the myteam mode where you draft players and I love how many people are getting bad because they dont know how to play properly. Theyre running these cheese lineups and I'm just here playing dominant defense to the point they quit

Has anyone beat the Warriors on HOF? I do this challenge every year currently 0/2 with the Rockets & Cavs, Spurs next

I'm afraid to try out of fear of the game upsetting me during this honeymoon period haha..... I'm still struggling to beat some of the lesser known teams (I turned off my 2K strategy brain a long time ago - don't judge me!!)

I make myself beat all 30 teams once before I can start MyLeague so I will end up getting stuck with GSW at some point.

From what I've experienced thus far, I am confident they'll demolish me in the right way - be hard to be too upset about that......

Are you sure you really want a decrease in slider set rather than leave it as is, especially when it comes to three point shot. I just ran a test run with the Atlanta Hawks and Bucks on Hall of Fame. I don't remember the overall shooting percentage but I was focused on the three point percentage because of your particular post.

The Bucks went 27% (4/15) from three point land for the entire game. It would actually have been 3/15 had I not fallen asleep on one defensive play. And this is me playing with the Atlanta Hawks the very first time ever. If they drop the slider down, the Bucks may not have made a single three pointer. And if I recall, at one point the Bucks were shooting 1/11 from 3 point land.

Maybe it's because of the way I play defense, it's pretty smothering defense. I truly watch all 10 players on the court and look for off ball situation where I have to switch from on-ball to off-ball to counter any of their offensive attacks. If I see a curl going around potentially 2 consecutive screen, I immediately switch to off ball defense and take hold of my defender who would otherwise get screen off and allow the CPU to get off a shot. My favorite time to play off ball defense is to counter those off ball screens.
