I got in contact with 2K support and they confirmed with me that I cannot get demoted from the GOAT league. This is very unfortunate. Hate getting matched up against all time teams while using regular teams. I will be very careful in 2K20.

That's why I just stay at freshman - I still get good competitive matchups and I don't have to wait 20 mins for a game either.

I'm finally coming back around to hating steal spamming. It has way too much upside and is way too annoying to have almost no negative consequences. It makes doing everything so much more annoying and impossible at times. Your opponent can just switch and spam constantly, if they reach it will either block you from doing anything, steal the ball, or least likely of all it will cause a meaningless foul.

Having fouling being the biggest penalty does nothing to prevent steal spam. The foul limits for players and teams is the same as a full length NBA game, but 2K games are half as long, which means you can fouls TWICE as much as you would be able to in a real game. Having a player get 4 fouls in the 4th quarter is unheard of, and even if it did happen the chance of getting 2 more fouls is nearly impossible. I don't think I've ever seen a player foul out in 20 years of 2K.

The limit to reach the FT penalty is also high compared to how long the games actually are, so you are almost never in the penalty capitalizing on a fouling opponent, even if they are spamming and actually getting called for hacking all game.

Right now I can't even be really mad at steal spammers because it has such a ridiculously high upside, and absolutely no downside.

I can't think of a reason to NOT steal spam.

Well there's always the to many penalties glitch lol. Will it be 2 fouls or 8 fouls haha? I've had dudes had that many fouls against me but that message has probably only popped up once. Where as it's probably happened to me 20-30 times for only 2-3 penalties/fouls.

But more to your point, it's the AI steals that annoy me sometimes, way to aggresive. Steal spammers aren't hard to beat.

Most dudes quit after they realize I'm only scoring with Ray haha...and it is actually hard to score with him! I get blocked a lot and 3s never go in.

Getting so sick of Portland...they got Lillard playing waaaaayyyyyy above his shooting ratings. He's basically an athletic version of Stephen Curry. Kanter got a damn block rating of 52, and he's protecting the paint like he's the second coming of the Mutombo with the rebounding skills of Rodman. He manhandled the hell out of Hibbert, and Lillard was destroying Paul George.

Like, I'm literally shocked when other players on the team contribute anything.

Most AI steals are a result of your teammates running behind the defender during a pass.

Anyone trying new teams compared to their usuals?

Tier 3: Started using the all time Kings. I really really dig this team compared to the other all time teams. I’ve given on using any of the current modern day tier 3 teams. The Wizards being still in tier 3 is inexcusable. There needs to be new life in this tier. Put the Nets, Kings, and Hornets in tier 3 and bump Wizards to 2.

Tier 2: I’ve taken a break from my Blazers and been using Indy. I really like Indy’s defense potential and like their team balance too. Honestly might be the most well balanced team in the tier. I recently played a game with the Shaq Magic after I played vs them as Portland. The Penny/Shaq PnR is unreal. I was vs Portland and Shaq is just a force vs Kanter’s weak defense and anytime Leonard or Collins is matched up on him, it’s a guaranteed two points or a kick out to an open shooter if they send help. The tricky thing with this team is managing Shaq’s stamina. He has 85 stamina iirc which doesn’t make sense because IRL he was getting 38 minutes per game. I think it’s 2k’s way of keeping him from being too OP which is stupid because he was IRL. Make users try to stop him with defense, not cuz he’s tired. Anyway, I ran away with the game in the last few mins. He was chasing Penny off the line however the mid was open. Hit three wide open floaters in a row. Then they started to pull the C up to contest. Dump to Shaq: 2 points.

Tier 1: I’ve gone back to BOS. Team defense, shooters, can play inside out, lots of opportunities. They’re a little small when running Kyrie and Smart vs PHI or MIL but they get the job done. Might give OKC a look again now that Roberson is back in the roster.

With My play style I prefer having a shifty speedy PG (Lillard, Kyrie) but I’m really digging Indy. I don’t really try to feature Dipo. I like to play him at SF and late in game the opposing SFs usually aren’t quick enough to defend him off dribble and the Turner pick and pop is lethal. 2k really needs to pull some teams from tier 2 and move em to Tier 3. The teams I mentioned above are just too outmatches and require a good amount of skill when facing other good users just to overcome the talent gap.

I’ve played the 92 (I think) Bulls twice in my last ten games and they’re terrible. Idk why ppl in the higher tiers pick them. I literally send doubles at Jordan all game. Pippen is an awful shooter so ppl are scared to run with him. I spotted this guy a 9pt lead (36-27) after the half and I still ended up up double digits by the time the 4th started before the quit came in. I was missing a lot of good looks meanwhile Jordan was scoring in transition on the break. Once the shots started to foul and they had to run a half court offense, it was over.

I’m in like a 7 game win streak with the Indy Pacers lol. After Dipo was added back to the roster, I lost a few but after tinkering with the lineups and matchups (Sabonis on Kanter when playing Portland) they’re incredibly tough to beat. Basically need to hope I miss good looks, which does happen when there isn’t a premier perimeter threat (Dipo is solid all around but not a guy who can get hot and score at will).

Me going over the on ball screen and staying in front of the ball handler = ai helping for no reason and leaving the roller wide open for a dunk.

dude just went 18-20 with giannis from the field just dribbling for 20 seconds tryna force it in. if that didn't work, hed just force a pass into brook lopez in the paint successfully for an layup since the ai is too stupid to stop it. this game is hilariously stupid. 2k needs to make passing harder. you cant just pass the ball to someone in the paint unless theyre open or have an established post position.

not to mention draymond fouls out the game because the ai decides to foul. not me. i don't even press square or triangle 95 percent of the time. i really dont know what constitutes the ai to set an illegal screen or reach in. how tf can a game penalize me with fouls for doing nothing??? it's ****in ridiculous.
