Was fortunate enough to run into a great squad if randoms tonight.

It turns out if you center your offense around the 7'2 tank who has 6'7-6'9 centers on him, good things happen

Someone made a suggestion here, but have you guys thought about making a SG to abuse 25 interior defense builds? I've been a Center since 2k13, but since we can't get 95 Post Fade I don't even feel I can make a good post scorer. Also mentioned wasn't matching up with much faster 6'7 PFs.

How about build a Post Scoring SG? Only downside is your Post Control is on the lower side, I think 79 at 6'6.

I'm going to try to build a meta breaking guard this weekend. I was so stuck on building a Shaq-like center that I didn't think about creating a backcourt player. It's going to be a change though. Historically, I mostly built centers, but I did do okay with a PG in 2K20. I mainly used my center, because I felt like a "Superstar" with that build. Even IRL, I was primarily a PF/C with some ball-handling and passing skills, but never a "pure" offensive-minded perimeter player.

I'll give it a try and report back.

Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

After spending a bunch of time with my meta PF, I decided to switch back to my 6’10 Paint Beast. Those PF builds are ridiculous but I really don’t think I have the skills to become anything more than a competent dribbler and it bothers me to play a build I can’t come close to maximizing the potential of. My time was well spent though as it definitely did improve both my shooting and my perimeter defense.

I’ve found a good jumper, spent time in career and to get my hot zones and changed my takeovers to two shooting takeovers. This allows me to get a dunk, a few rebounds or a block and significantly boost my 3 point rating up to a point I can reliably be a spot up shooter. I’ve dragged my 3 point rating up from a 43% in Rec to 50% in just a few days. I’m probably shooting 65% or so since I modified my build.

I’m still struggling to guard PFs in space but I’m mildly more successful than I was before. At least I can punish them a bit more on the other end with a more diverse offensive game. And I can get my rebounds and blocks which I was missing on my other build.

I created a 6'7" Kobe Bryant SG. So far, so good. I might go back and tweak the build just a little bit more to make my build more of an athletic freak of nature though. Otherwise, I kinda like having a "post player" at the shooting guard spot.

Definitely the worst matchmaking process I've personally experienced. I mean this is BAD. I wish I didn't like playing so much. Its absurd that you enter a game and are immediately paired with bots.. they don't even try to get you a full squad or give you the option to back out right away ( you have to quit the whole game and skateboard back to that stupid rec building) ... then you enter and you're going vs 5 99 elites !... you stand no chance... these bots do not bother to press shooters ... they just get J'd from 3 all day ... why couldn't they fix this?? I mean do the devs themselves not play rec and experience these frustrations? It was much better back in the days when you can just walk around the Jordan Rec Center and press A to hop in a game that was waiting for next .. it gave you the option to atleast see who else is waiting and whether you want to team up or not .. paid so much F*kn money for a next gen console and a next gen game and still be dealing with these frustrations.

Oh no! Matchmaking with the "Got Next" and "Squad" spots absolutely sucked. I want to jump into a game as quickly as possible. I agree that matchmaking with bots is a bad idea, but I rather do that than "waste my time" looking for a game and hoping that someone will play with me.

How about No! Got next in the rec center was the worst idea ever when it came to the rec. Im not about to wait 40 minutes to play the game . Already bad I have to wait to play in the park most days when it should just be an instant matchmaking there as well.

I understand ... that ain't no fun either ... I'm just upset at the game man.. I personally wish matchmaking was better .. I'm not a fan of the way it is now. Sad to believe it used to be worst.

Saw my dude on at 5am and nobody is on the other games we play at that hour so I ran a couple with my 73 rated defensive big. Badged enough to ball.



We played a squad that likely all had modified controllers and nobody was guarding. Their set up was decent. Zone. Two lock down shooters. Play making shooter pg with pm take over. Locks in corners. One guy was always center green and the others were almost always excellent green. And when they weren't they were center.



Terrible d. One of our guys quit and the rest gave up. I passed thru the zone to get my a+ with 9 assists cuz not many rebs were to be had.



Got it on tape. Need to watch it before I call it for sure but Yea d stops these guys somewhat but they auto release and get greens on light contests. I can make them miss but I obv can't guard everyone. People think zone is some freaking unbeatable strategy too.



Still, either people have figured out 2k shooting w boosts and all. These guys weren't 95+ so I dono. Or they like got mod controllers for Christmas. I really hope this helps 2k continue to change how they do shooting cuz even tho it can be stopped and beaten no other sports game that I can think of has such an op exploit.

I understand ... that ain't no fun either ... I'm just upset at the game man.. I personally wish matchmaking was better .. I'm not a fan of the way it is now. Sad to believe it used to be worst.

It gets a lot better once you're able to pick a spawn point. I think on All Star 1 Rep but not sure on that. But yeah matchmaking is crap. You either gotta do a Looking for Group, get friends together for 15min, or pray that the other team has AI teammates too. The only saving grace is that quits don't count as L's, which is a W, which I'm surprised 2K had enough forethought to think of that. They need to phase out AI in rec in a patch, as more people get next gen consoles.

Did they do something with the matchmaking? When I load up rec on my switch I get all rookies as teammates. Can’t even get a game started because everyone backs out.
