MyCareer is unplayable for me now on my X. I tried everything they told me to no avail.

MyCareer I went to the draft combine and it crashed. Now every time I load MyCareer again it sends me back to the Draft Combine. When I get to the 5 on 5 game it shuts the X down. Reload MyCareer again, it sends me back into the Draft Combine and repeats. What a freaking mess.
      DSM Transfer.

yup I have the exact same issue on my second player. weirdly enough I actually did complete the whole combine one time last week, but it didn't save the progress or something and the player is still back in the combine. I've done the entire combine 10 times at this point and never want to touch it again

Stuff like this is what makes people lose trust in companies and in some cases makes some people jump ship to the competition…

NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)

I have been having shut offs since November 2020 on 2k21 next gen. Its was very random, 99% in an online setting. Could go off twice a day, and could go on without a shutoff for 3-4 weeks.

In late August it did it twice on off line fifa 21 next gen game (previously never had a problem with that one).

I went through 45 seconds of the 1st rec game on 2k22 before shutoff (my career went without problem).

I think it is definitely a combined hardware/software issue. I don't think 2k will fix it, just hope to get i new console once i've sent that one back to Microsoft.

It has to make a big news and social media splash or they are going to keep giving us the runaround. I mean, look, they are already giving us the runaround and buying time.

2kSupport and Microsoft, both, are just trying to stall and buy themselves time to either fix this problem, or hope we give up and shut up.
Yeah if not for this site I wouldn't know about it have not seen talk any where else. I am on n4g a lot never seen it on there. Glade I don't care for Xbox at all but this does suck for them and needs to be fixed.

People that are getting "new" systems from Xbox - are you receiving any sort of refurbished certificate? Does the 1-year warranty renew?

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)

My Xbox Series X is mostly new (about 1 month old) and I first noticed this on 2K21 but very rarely. Now on 2K22 I can't finish an Old Gym game without my console shutting off. Weird thing is, I remember I could play fine on the first week of release (I reached lvl 7 on the season) and all got worse after a 2K update. I haven't had any issues with any other game. I've played Outriders and Fallout 76 for hundreds of hours each, two online games infamous for being buggy. However none of them ever shut my Xbox off.

Even more strange is the fact that my son has another Series X on his room that doesn't have ANY issues at all with 2K. This is crazy.

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)

Some people here are still in huge denial with this being a 2k issue or a software issue. The thing is if it was on the software side it would happen to almost everybody who owns xbox series x.

If it was just a nba 2k issue then it shouldn't happen with Fifa and Madden and other games, etc

It's clearly a hardware issue that's why it doesn't happen to everybody and software updates can only do so little to fix it.

Most Xbox Series X games are cross gen tittles (xbox one/series) that's why only few games are turning the system off because not every game uses 100% of Series X's power.

Yes and no. Hardware may have vulnerabilities and too much variance in their ability to process stuff, but it's also obviously a 2K issue when plenty of games do much more demanding things (Watch Dogs Legion's raytracing comes to mind) with no issue.

So basically, some XSX's may have a higher ability to crash than others due to hardware variance, but when almost no games cause this to occur aside from the most deadline-crunching titles (sports games, Call of Duty, etc.) it seems pretty clear that optimization is a gigantic factor and these games wouldn't be doing this if they weren't built the way they are. It also seems interesting that it's happening in the more networking-heavy games, which would make me suspicious that something in the netcode is becoming much more demanding than it should be over time and triggering these crashes.

And to be clear, I've had a friend who has NEVER crashed in the first two weeks plus of the game crash twice this past weekend. We joked that it's like a virus spreading, but it's not as though his Xbox just suddenly became bad at playing the game in two weeks. It just seems like some Xboxs are better at dodging whatever causes whatever issue the game creates than others.

Do you realize how many games are causing this same issue? I get it, you're a part of the "2K jUsT wAnTs OuR mOnEy" mouth breather club but this isn't the time to spew your garbage narrative. It's an xbox problem plain and simple. Get over it.

PS5 had an issue with consoles bricking when after launch. Jump ship and just run into the same types of issues. It's not just one company. Every company in every industry faces obstacles like these.

2K is no different than any other company in wanting maximum profits for minimal effort. That's not a quality problem unique to 2K. But if it were an Xbox problem, there wouldn't be anyone reporting the issues on PS5. There are. With exactly similar circumstances that the crashes happen (most often during online gameplay, and abruptly so).

Does that mean the Xbox is built in a such a way that might be more vulnerable to the problem caused by the game? Absolutely. And that's on Xbox, and they continue to take responsibility for their part in this issue.

But it's obvious the software itself is causing this issue. What neither team is able to get into yet is how it's doing that, and how to stop it from doing so. Hopefully whatever it is gets patched on PS5 as well and nobody has any crashing and I can play the game I paid for on the system I paid to play it on with no issues.

i havent gotten mine back from "repair" yet. scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.. but:

                              1) i shipped my xsx to el paso, texas. once they received it, the very next day (24hr turnaround) i got a shipment notice of an xsx coming to me from kentucky. so, right there, highly indicative of, at the very least, a different xsx coming back to me.

                              2) on my device list (account.microsoft.com/devices) i have a new device with a new warranty pushed out to 11/11/2022. which is odd, because i sent it back to them on 9/18.. but my old xbox was set to expire on 11/11/2021, so maybe that's why? but again, this indicates a new/different device (it has a new serial number on my device list too).

                              3) my old broken xbox is still listed on my device list too tho. and, i got a microst extended warranty for it which is still attached to that device. so, this kind of makes me worry that the same xbox is coming back despite what i listed above, but i think it's more likely i have to call ms and move my warranty over and delete this xbox from my device list myself, manually. ie; it doesnt auto drop-off.

so, tomorrow i'll know for sure. plus, no matter what i get back, i'll also know if i can play 2k22 without getting my xsx shut off.

                              we'll see.

edit: for anyone wondering, from ship to return (if it arrives tomorrow, knock wood) will be 9 total days. sent it on the 18th, it's set to return on the 27th.
