the game is wildy unoptimized on all accounts. there are so many more problems than just the crashes we are experiencing here. all they need to do is make the game not use 110% of the console's resources and it would be fine

I feel this is pretty much the problem right here. It will be interesting what will happen when GTA6 comes out.Comment

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)
the most insane part to me is that I have like 200 hours in MLB the show and it's literally the first year it's on Xbox in a decade, was developed by freaking SONY!! and never once have i had a crash. literally the only problem that game ever had was overpopulated servers for the first month.
i guess all we can do now is keep reporting an outage on the xbox status page and keep making a fuss on internet forums. so so sad.Comment

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)
my xsx will be returned from repair on monday sept 27.
i sent it on the 18th. so 9 days from ship to back to me.
they're sending me a "new" xsx. i hope i get a lucky one (as i've said before, my son, directly across the hall plays all the same games.. just as much/more -- his xsx has never ever shut off, not once).
it could be some xsx batches are bad. or a combo of those xsx with software requesting things that are very heat inducing.
that would explain the differences between my son and me with mine constant, his never.. well plausibly.
i guess we'll see monday. they sent a different unit back. not a repair.NFL - RAVENS

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)
Have no clue the validity of this, but just had Xbox Support respond to my question of "Is there anything specific people need to do to get the fix for Xbox Series X turning off during gameplay on NBA 2K22?" with this
"Hello Christian, Thanks for reaching out to Xbox Twitter Support. Our apologies for the delayed response as we are receiving a large volume of requests. the issue should be fixed if you are still facing problems ,let's start off by doing a quick power cycle to the Xbox, first go please to Settings > Account > Remove accounts > then select your gamertag and remove it then hold down the power button for about 10 sec until it shuts off then unplug the power cord and wait for 2-3 min then plug it back in and turn on the Xbox. If this doesn't help too, try a reset to the Xbox and go with the option keep my games & apps, go to Settings > System > Console info > Reset Xbox > then select reset and keep my games & apps."
Only now trying these so will report back but I only saw their message fresh off another shutdown during a Brickley workout. No guarantees but these are two things I hadn't done to this point (at least, removing the gamertag or doing the Xbox reset while keeping games/apps)
I think that there are a big batch of faulty consoles out there and MS doesn't want to admit that to avoid huge loses.
Edit: Most of them have started to fail again.Last edited by setis; 09-24-2021, 06:24 AM.Comment

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)
I also did everything that Microsoft Support suggested, and twice...
--------------------------------------------------
Settings > Account > Remove accounts > then select your gamertag and remove it then hold down the power button for about 10 sec until it shuts off then unplug the power cord and wait for 2-3 min (while waiting we recommend you restart your internet router) after the 3 minutes is done, plug it back in and turn on the Xbox
Settings -> network -> network settings -> advanced settings -> Alternate MAC address : CLEAR -> Restart.
Settings -> System -> Clear local saved games -> restart.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console, then Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.
---------------------------------------------------------
.... but the issue is still there, even I would say that the power off in my Xbox Series X is even quicker than before... it happened to me always playing a MyNBA Online game with a friend... This is getting dramatic...Ignorance is Bliss...Comment

The funny thing is that with me I never had any freezer before until a couple of nights ago with 2k. This is just weird.

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)
@XboxSupport has addressed this again! This is getting comical!
"Teams are continuing to investigate reports of consoles powering off or quitting to home while playing NBA 2K22. Please watch for news here or at http://xbox.com/status"
Link: https://twitter.com/XboxSupport/stat...13352715010050
1. XboxSupport tweeted yesterday it was fixed, everyone replied it did nothing and their systems still completely shut off, some people say it now shuts off quicker.
2. XboxSupport deletes the tweet.
3. Later in the evening, XboxSupport tweets a copy/paste of the original tweet, saying this problem was fixed. Everyone replied, AGAIN, it did nothing and their systems still completely shut off.
4. Xbox Support deletes that tweet.
5. XboxSupport tweets again, today, that they are investigating the problem. And now we have started all over, back to square 1.
The thing that makes me chuckle is how Xbox was saying the problem was fixed, but there was nothing new on the Xbox. No update, nothing! There was an NBA2k22 Patch that never even mentioned consoles shutting down. So what was fixed? Obviously nothing!PSN ID: Filth_Flannigan

Can you share how you contacted Microsoft to get this done? I can go to one of their sites, and it asks me the problem and is ready for me to ship it to them, without speaking to a single person.
I tried to do a Chat, and it told me they couldn't help. The only other thing is to call them. Did you call them up? I cannot find anything where MIcrosoft has a Support Ticket System, where they contact me and try to troubleshoot it, via email or something.
It's either Phone Call or Virtual Agent, or just send it in without contacting anyone for a "free" repair or replacement.PSN ID: Filth_Flannigan

I'll give MS points for at least trying to fix the problem. In the end, I hope that it's something can be fixed for good.Comment

Re: Nba2k22 turning off the console (Xbox series X)
i just hope the different xsx they sent me to replace mine doesnt have the issue.. as i said,my son in my same house, plays 2k22 in all online modes with zero shutdowns, ever -- even when we were in the same game, i'd get shutdown. not his xsx.Last edited by CRIP4LIFE; 09-24-2021, 12:51 PM.NFL - RAVENS
