Yeah that last one didn't work for me. The only place I've had any success completing games more than once is Pro-Am 3v3. Otherwise we're still stuck with no real progress or communication from Xbox or 2K since they acknowledged this issue on the 14th. I can play any other game endlessly but the moment I hit a Rec game or something, the Xbox is shutting off.

100% same here. The only other mode I've have slight success in is Old Gym and even then it will guaranteed crash after 2 games. Half the time it crashes a couple of minutes into the first game

Well, it no longer happens, after the new patch ... but you have to do a couple of things:

1.- disable the MAC in the NETWORK configuration (when deactivating the Xbox series X restarts), then check if the NAT is open (If not, restart the console one or as many times until you have open NAT).

2.- The most important thing (I have seen it in another video that happened to him with the valhala) ; before starting the nba 2k22 you must run another game that has Quick resume (I do it with the Forza horizon 4, the one in the video does it with the Gears 5),

now you start the nba 2k22 for xbox series X and I have already played two games of myteam unlimited and draft and it has not turned off ........ try it, it has worked for me

This may have worked for you! However, I thought, I have only tried 12 different things to fix this problem, why not try yours?

Funny thing was, I started my system up, did exactly what you said to do, went and tried the Chris Brickley Gym to just try and finish the first game, and my console shut off in like 2 minutes. The game score was 2-0 lol. My console has never shut off quicker than it did when I tried this.


Microsoft or 2k, Fix this. It has gone on long enough!

Hell, the only game that I can play online is Triple Threat. Anything else beyond 3v3 is not going to happen. I don't even know how I was able to play the four or five games in a row that I did this past weekend.

Turned off even quicker than before in the draft combine. 2k and Microsoft are absolute jokes of companies

Silver lining...they're trying.

Current gen is a solid game for those who have it, but I really like the pace and looks of next-gen.

well i'm worried that's going to be their only attempt at trying. nobody online is saying this fixed anything for them and now we have to wait and see if either Microsoft or 2k acknowledges it

True that. I did have to chuckle at one of the comments, because they asked how it was fixed when neither the console or game had an update. Make sense to me, lol.

Biggest issue I have with this is that it seems Xbox is just saying it's totally fixed completely to the point they've removed it from the Xbox Status section. If Xbox is just trying to wash their hands of this after no progress fixing it for two weeks, I'm gonna be really disappointed.

at this point if they dont' release nothing to update (2k or SO xbox)...they can't say is a hardware issue (how many people will going crazy with this news?(maybe it will affect other many game next gen in the future), so they just say it's ok ...and so many people 50% stop to play 2k22 and the other 50% going to replace or repair own console...

People will still report it via feedback on the console and it will re-open the issue. More than likely, 2K told Microsoft they fixed it and Microsoft relayed the information. Who knows though....

MS has to address it with or without 2KSports or EA. Let's also be fair...it's been pretty much confirmed that it happens with Madden, Fifa, and F1, so MS has a lot riding on this situation. We all know how social media is. If this becomes a recurring thing for future next-gen games, then XBSX becomes the console "With next-gen specs, but can't handle next-gen games". As others have stated, it's definitely a software/hardware problem.

Have no clue the validity of this, but just had Xbox Support respond to my question of "Is there anything specific people need to do to get the fix for Xbox Series X turning off during gameplay on NBA 2K22?" with this

"Hello Christian, Thanks for reaching out to Xbox Twitter Support. Our apologies for the delayed response as we are receiving a large volume of requests. the issue should be fixed if you are still facing problems ,let's start off by doing a quick power cycle to the Xbox, first go please to Settings > Account > Remove accounts > then select your gamertag and remove it then hold down the power button for about 10 sec until it shuts off then unplug the power cord and wait for 2-3 min then plug it back in and turn on the Xbox. If this doesn't help too, try a reset to the Xbox and go with the option keep my games & apps, go to Settings > System > Console info > Reset Xbox > then select reset and keep my games & apps."

Only now trying these so will report back but I only saw their message fresh off another shutdown during a Brickley workout. No guarantees but these are two things I hadn't done to this point (at least, removing the gamertag or doing the Xbox reset while keeping games/apps)
