Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
I’ll start posting Defensive Settings tomorrow for the 5 teams completed, but here is a preview of the first half of Rockets/Jazz with the first minute showing all of the custom Defensive Settings.
Rockets vs Jazz

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster (X1)
The CPU is blowing by me at will because the acceleration is high and my players almost have a delay in their lateral shuffling. Also, even when they start shuffling it is almost in slow motion. It really doesn’t matter who I am using on defense (Steph, Iggy, Klay, Draymond.)They feel almost stuck in mud.
Just some feedback for future testing.Comment

YAK- Just a little feedback as I’ve been playing in scrimmage mode for an hour or two. Overall, it feels great, but we may need a some more balance with the lateral quickness of USER controlled on-ball defenders.

The link to the spreadsheet for Defensive Settings has been added to the OP.

If we make these manual adjustments, does it eliminate the CPU defensive ACE adjustments during the game?Comment

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
From my testing so far, here's what I believe is happening (Czar/OG know best though):
1. The CPU still makes ACE adjustments to any setting which is Auto
2. The CPU still doubles on screens when Perimeter Double is set to Manual if a player reaches high point totals (although they don't double on catch from what I've seen)
3. ACE seems to override all settings for CPU teams in end-game situations.
There's still a chance that Czar/OG update the ACE defensive settings throughout the season and I'd be happy to not have to override these in the future. I'll also add some sample coach profile settings for future years in MyLeague where other coaches enter the league. There are only a handful of defensive styles that are used as the base defense throughout the league.Comment

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
These can be set one time at the coach/team level in MyLeague. The player specific settings (including the center settings) need to be set at the start of every season. Unfortunately, you need to set them every game in Play Now.

I went back to your slider .3 (Superstar). The only change I made was moving the global game speed to 58 and the speed in slider settings up to 50. Feels pretty good to me.
The one thing I do notice is a lack of CPU shooting fouls. (I realize this is likely a hard coded issue)
I just played a full game against the Rockets and they only shot six free throws all game.Comment

Love your attention to detail! I’m going to love using your roster.

Try moving the User Speed back down to 45 and see if you feel like you still can't defend with good perimeter defenders. The lower Speed forces bad contests when caught out of position and more block attempts from behind which lead to fouls. The margin for error on defense for Users is mostly tied to the Speed and On-Ball Defense ratings/sliders in my opinion.
If you can, post a screenshot of a post-game box score.Comment

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
Thanks for the feedback! I'll check for this in the next few games, but I was seeing 12-16 FTA per game in play testing on All-Star. I'm only a handful of full User/CPU games into testing on Superstar though since most testing is CPU/CPU. There are still only 1-2 fouls per game at most on jump shots and there's nothing I've found to fix that.

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
Czar posted the 5-out update for the Bucks this morning. Expect some huge playbook updates to the Bucks and play updates for all teams over the next week.
The playbook updates are by far the best 2K delivered playbooks in the history of the series in my opinion. I will end up using at least 50% of each of the updates playbooks in the roster, but will also add some standard actions I’m seeing around the league. I don’t like leaving too much empty space in the playbook, but I’ll also consider leaving a few play types without plays just like I did for the Bucks/Rockets in Midrange.Comment

Now, here is to hope for 2K addressing the lack of variety of plays ran by teams, be it due to series taking over or due to other reasons. Between this and the bugs that affect the sim stats, we would be much closer to our Utopy.Last edited by ffaacc03; 11-27-2018, 12:13 PM.Comment
