Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
YAK, you are right!!! Wow! What a great update for the Bucks! All the 5 out stuff is great! The quick 5 out 3pt is his Atlanta action we need more of though with swing comeback stuff. The guard post is great. The iso and pnr plays are money! Only thing like you said I’m not a fan of is having 0 plays in a category or 1 guard post as you tend to see same play too often. Even adding 1 guard post. I saw them run a punch with thru action to giannis as a backup play for variety. Plus in my league if rosters change through the years with trades, draft, coach firings need to account for it imo... But wow this is awesome without testing and just looking at play art action! I realize usually more depth in options once in game too... What was the other team done!Basketball Playbooks

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
Not to hijack this thread. I was just thinking though. But it looks like the 5 out freelance was not added to the game or for the Bucks in this update. They have the Bucks at default which seems to be the 4 out 1 in. For this reason and because of the good plays now in the Bucks playbook I’d probably go 99 or 100 in run plays personally to assure they use their stuff they run irl. Of course that’s with the workaround. We know they run a lot of freelance irl and just play and they dont run a lot of sets, but the spacing wouldn’t be right if you didn’t do it that way imo... Thoughts?
Check out iso 13 punch too - iso play for post up to giannis with thru and spread for shooters. Saw them run this other day too...Last edited by vannwolfhawk; 11-27-2018, 01:58 PM.Basketball Playbooks

I think Czar said they would just add the 5 out plays no a freelance. Auto play should launch the series for youComment

They do run some of Bud’s classic sets so it’s fun adding that to break up the 5-out (even if it’s not exactly how they run it).
I’ll check out that Iso 13 Punch tonight. The Bucks ran more cross screens for Giannis/Middleton in the preseason (which I liked), but have moved towards just putting the ball in Giannis’s hands and using ball screens to set up mismatches on switches to attack in either Iso or Dribble to Post Iso. I’ve tried to keep both in the playbook since the cross screens are a Bud staple.
This update has me more excited than I’ve been since the release date. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for base actions across the league!Comment

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
Bucks offense is mostly 5-out with a handful of off-ball actions in real life, but I think we’re stuck duplicating those actions in set plays this year.

I’m with you though it was an amazing update with the depth and realism of the new plays for all teams!Basketball Playbooks

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
YAK, is your Nov. 19th file the latest file uploaded. Sorry, I havn't looked. I want to see what you are getting so far... Thanks man!
Edit: Just saw your sliders as well. It looks like you had same idea with higher acceleration with ball to eliminate the on ball defense brick walls. I'm curious to try out what you have there as well after seeing your post in another thread seeing best games you have had yet in last few weeks. Are those up to date as well in 2k share or on main page or are you still tweaking them?Last edited by vannwolfhawk; 12-01-2018, 06:17 PM.Basketball Playbooks

I’m using high Acceleration both w/ball and for defenders (base Acceleration attribute slider) so you see more explosion and recovery in the on-ball interactions. The default 2K game of brick wall and grind to the basket is unplayable for me. Really happy with how well the custom defensive settings are working even with ACE turned on.
Here’s video of a Rockets/Nuggets game from yesterday: https://mixer.com/youALREADYknow/mobile?vod=69004764
I let the Auto play calling run and keep the gameplan basic when play testing, but still got a competitive game.
I’ll post updated Superstar sliders to 2KShare in the morning.Last edited by youALREADYknow; 12-02-2018, 12:17 AM.Comment

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
Roster and Slider updates have been posted to 2KShare. Sliders will be Superstar difficulty going forward unless 2K makes some crazy changes in future patches.
I'm picking up the editing pace on the roster over the next two weeks, so expect daily updates to the v0.3 file on 2KShare.
Focus areas for this week are getting physical attributes and badges set for all teams so they are all playable. I'm hoping for 5-10 more games of data from this season before updating attributes/tendencies across the league, but will start with the teams in order from A-Z (76ers to Wizards). Some global tendency scales will be applied this week also (dribbling, iso)Last edited by youALREADYknow; 12-03-2018, 08:37 AM.Comment

@youALREADYknow:
I remember you said that it's imperative to change opposing team's Off-Ball Pressure to Moderate/Gap (and even Leave in some circumstances). I definitely agree, but how have you been handling On-Ball Pressure?
I'm considering a system where if a player has X or higher 3P Open rating, then he gets Moderate. If he has lower than X, he gets Gap (elite mid-range guys with no 3P range like Shaun Livingston would probably be exceptions).
I wanted to hear what you're doing with this, though.Comment

If you’re talking about for your own team’s defensive settings, then I’d agree with everything you posted. It’s just going to become too easy after a while to exploit an AI that has too many presets defensively.
Some things are team/coach specific and that’s always worth copying. Rockets switch everything, that’s a must. Have you played any games with the settings listed yet? I’m curious to see if those help rotations are better for others as well.Comment

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
Auto for every team. I’m even testing going back to Auto on a few more defensive settings to let ACE take over and keep the game more dynamic. There have been updates pushed over the past few weeks that have improved defensive adjustments in my opinion.

You haven't had the same problem with the AI playing great slashers too closely?Comment

Yes, default Auto plays too aggressive on downhill slashers. Gap or Moderate makes sense for them.Comment

Re: 2K19: Return of The Sim Roster
A completely off topic question but I’m seeing that some roster updates such as new shoes and accessories or whatever the case, that have been updated don’t get updated within any active MyLeagues..
Is that to say that, it doesn’t update within MyLeague and/or if the roster file used is previous to that update? I’m big on accessories so I’m just trying to prepare myself to rage against 2K if this were the case.Comment
