yes you can offer contract extensions to players during the season, i think the deadline is in February not sure though. You can only offer extensions to players who say they are ready to sign a new contract now, most common with extremely loyal guys.

Just go to your roster screen and pick the player and you should be able to see the option "sign" if they're ready to sign an extension.

I remember your Bobcats association last year. I'm running w/ the Mavs and loving it. I don't have to rebuild, I'm in contention to win a ring, I've got some guys I really like (Dirk, JET, Caron, Kidd, Beaubois), and I can rebuild on the fly.

Like someone else said...the guys who are eligible (final yr of contract) and who want to extend during the season will get reported on the NBA.com menu. You can check there or ever so often go to your roster menu and tap 'A'. If they want to resign an option will appear there. From that same roster menu you can just edit their contract too and extend them that way...

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm now 38 games with Bobcats, everything is default with 12min games. All transactions are automatic, so I let CPU trade at its own will. I'm leading all teams with 30-8 standing. After 15 games, I got ben gordon in exchange of some of my improving players. The transaction boosted my team record but I felt bad it traded Stephen Jackson after around 25 games and he is leading my team 29.7 points a game. And guess what it was traded to Celtics having already a monster lineup: Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, O'neal, O'neal (Jermaine). I only got Robinson and Perkins on that trade and nate is injured for 2-4 weeks. Injury is somewhat frequent in this game. I'm lucky Augustin is activated from injury and I really need his outside scoring. They (Celtics) are 29-12 so far and we just break their season high 10 game winstreak with a squeeker 101-95.. showing jackson that he is in the wrong team But despite of the good performance by my team, I'm also having a hard time with the Grizzlies (gay, mayo in the outside... randolph, gasol inside) and was 0-2 to them already including killing my team high 8-game streak... and dealing our 2nd 2-game losing streak. Very frustrating as I'm gunning to match the record 72 wins by the bulls...

There are some thrilling close games with the heat, spurs, nola... winning on them in the buzzer Those moments really make me hookup to this game.

I really don't have a good lineup but just decent enough to win (hoping wallace will not get injured):

              PG Augustin
              SG Gordon (hurt)
              SF Wallace
              PF Diaw
              C Perkins

Thomas, Mohammed, Affalo, Henderson, Livingston, Diop, Robinson (Injured) etc.

No major problems/glitch so far but I'm expecting this coming to the allstars and might restart it fresh after the patch

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I have a feeling this association of mine won't last long.
Some details first of my play style:
                Difficulty: All-star
                Length: 9 minutes per quarter
Sliders changed: For user: Dunk success 90, For CPU: Mid-range and 3 point shot: 45, Shooting foul frequency: 65, Blocking foul frequency: 60.
                Team: Philadelphia 76ers
Preseason games and Allow CPU trades are off.

So I decided to build around Evan Turner. Before my first game, I traded Iguodala, Young, two 1st round first draft picks to the Kings for Tyreke Evans and Luther Head. Following that, I needed a big man and small forward, after looking at some, I decided to go back to Sacramento and traded Jrue Holiday and Spencer Hawes for Whiteside and Casspi. (Yes, bad trade but I like it.)

About to play my first game against Miami.

1-2 with the Mavs JET(as JBH3 refers to him) is playing amazing. I am just having trouble getting consistent points from the SF and C positions.

Oh cool, I beat Miami 107-99. I only pulled away in the 3rd quarter. Tyreke finished with 35-6-9 but 8 turnovers. Turner supported him with 32-5-5. LeBron carried the Heat with 43 points.

I think it is worth it!
As long as you don´t do any intra squad scrimmages.

                            JET is Terry's initials.

Cody -- You've got to know how to use the Mavs man.

You shouldn't be looking for offense from Haywood and/or Marion.

Dirk, Caron, JET, Beaubois, and slashing to the rim w/ Kidd for a dish to an open man or to draw a foul is the way to go.

Get Dirk going, so he can start drawing the double teams, and then stretch the floor w/ Kidd and JET. Caron is even good for a couple 3's too...

I've really gotten Marion going at times, but his offense come strictly from inside and in transition. If he gets an OReb he's going back up with it, and when he's matched on someone who he can abuse in the post (like Chase Budinger) he's getting the ball then.

When I can run the floor and get out on breaks, I'm getting Marion the ball because he dunks the best, and has the best vertical. Mostly his role is to D-up the opposing teams best offensive player, and hustle -- what he's known for. When Dirk gets hot and draws the doubles, Marion is just another body who can sit out on the 3pt line and sneak a 3.

Haywood -- He's strictly there for interior defense and rebounding. In stretches I'll work the ball to him in the post, but that is mostly when/if Dirk is out or someone is cold and I need an easy bucket.

I've now won 6 in a row with the Bulls bringing my record to 11-6. Two of the six wins came in OT including a double OT win against the Cavs in a game that I was losing by t18 at one point. During the winning streak I've moved from 9th in the East to 3rd, including first in my division.

Beat the Mavs last night by 20. Held Dirk to 9-32 from the field including 12 blocks as a team. The Bulls are HOT right now baby!
