Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Thanks for the feed back on this trade, I went back and adjusted it to make it more fair. It worked out well for me(OKC)
OKC gets: DJ Augistine, Chase Budinger, Hasheem Thabeet, DeSenaga Diop, '11 1st round Charlotte
Charlotte gets: Kendrick Perkins, Eric Maynor
Houston gets: Nate Robinson, Cole Aldrich
What do you guys think of this trade?
But it is a pretty fair trade. Fair, but unrealistic, so you'll kinda have to take your pick.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
This is less of a rate-my-trade thing, and more of the how-the-hell-do-I-even-make-this-work sort.
I've been trying to figure out a way to get Josh Smith to the Magic. Well, firstly, I guess I gotta figure out if it's even possible, given that they're division rivals, and also given their recent post-season meetings. For it to work, the Hawks would have to get enough in return that they'd feel they could take on the Magic, right? The big need is obviously at center, though they'd probably want either a SG or SF as well, depending on who's available and where they wanna play Johnson at.
So yeah, I'm just looking for ideas. I get that this'd have to be a three-team trade, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I've played around with the idea of involving the Suns, since their roster is a mess going into the 2011-12 season, and because Robin Lopez, though not great, seems like he could be had fairly cheaply.
One thing I'm pretty sure I will do, though, provided the Kings end up with a top-5 pick, is trade Nelson to them for said pick, and use that to help sweeten the pot, however things go. (Grab Valanciunas, perhaps?)
Anyway, I know this isn't exactly what this thread's for, but I think it fits with the spirit of the discussions I've read throughout.
Addendum: The way I see it, these are the Magic's trade assets: Nelson, Redick, Bass* and Anderson, in about that order.
* Bass has a player option for the last year of his contract, meaning he might only stay with the team he's traded to for one year. Might put a damper on things a little bit.Last edited by lolercopter; 07-18-2011, 03:58 PM.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
To me, SAC got robbed badly ... as much as they want to get off the books Cisco deal and as one dimensional as Thorton is, the talent of the outgoings is too much compared to what they get ... add some picks and might help a bit to balance things out.Last edited by ffaacc03; 07-19-2011, 07:03 PM.Comment

I'm playing as the Pacers and I'm in my first season and looking to move Danny Granger. I feel like I can manage just as well with him off the court as I can when he's on it, so I don't see the use of having him when I could probably shore up some other weaknesses on my team by dealing him. Personally I'm aiming for some picks and/or a solid defensive big man who can rebound.
I came up with this...
Pacers trade:
Danny Granger
Hornets trade:
Emeka Okafor
2012 1st Round Pick
Would that be a balanced trade? Suggestions?

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Ik.. I think NY got a boat load of talent.... and so did Jazz. Kings were a bit robbed as you said... I mainly post 3 team trades. Im gonna be putting more up so people can judge them. Oh, and Cousins had left Sac so thats why i placed Okur on their team. AND come to think of it, Utah gave up very little for a good starting Shooting Guard in Marcus Thornton and a good backup at Cisco. They also got Billups. Who can do great coming off the bench. Really good trade for them and NY.Last edited by Rhyster95; 07-19-2011, 08:29 PM.You Mad Bro?Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I decided it was time to part ways with the Morris twins as they didn't do a whole lot for me, and think I found a deal that would give me roster space as well.
I traded:
Markieef Morris
Marcus Morris
2 second-round picks
In exchange for:
2 Future First-Round Picks (via Pacers and Heat)
The Pacers lost Roy Hibbert through free agency and traded away Granger for Beasley about two seasons ago, so they needed more young talent right away, and I gave them that for a pick that will probably be in the late-teen's (15-20) and the pick I traded away that will be a very late first-round pick (talking 28-30).
Does this sound fair? Any and all opinions welcome.
I should also throw out that I used the extra roster space to sign Omer Asik with part of the mid-level exception that I still had left-over from the most recent free-agency period.
The reason Asik didn't sign with before is most teams either had a good center rotation or had already used their mid-level exception in the previous summer.
I really needed a tall, defensive-minded center and I got exactly that in Omer Asik. I really like my team's chances of capturing another championship with him in tow.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Alright, in all reality, Charlotte should be looking to move DJ Augistine before the trade deadline because he does not fit the rebuilding direction this team is in. Him and Kemba play the same position and are exactly the same size lol. Kemba works best with the ball in his hands. So I looked to move DJ for some value that would help the rebuilding process.
Trade: DJ Augistine
GetHOU) Chase Budinger, Goran Dragic, '11 1st round Houston
Moved Chase to the starting SF slot, although I hope to draft/sign a SF to start over him this off season. Same with Henderson at the SG. This trade should be another lotto pick.
I LOVE DJ on this game but it was simple, I will not offer him the max contract he is going to want at the end of this year because I have Kemba. So I needed to move on and fill in spots where I needed guys.
What are your thoughts about moving DJ or the trade? The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I like Trade 1, The Raptors get a lot of talent. OKC picks up a nice lottery pick. I can't see this happening in real life but hey, who saw a Felton/Andre Miller trade coming lol, works out great for OKC.
Trade 2 is a stretch, you have to see it from the Kings prospective. They are giving up their franchise player. They do gain Harden but they essentially get worse. Thabo also creates a 3yr/9mill clog in the cap situation. I feel like from the gaming stand point, to be fair, that Raptor pick may need to be heading to the Kings to even make this trade remotely benefitial to them. Just my two cents
Trade 3 is not going to happen realisticly. However, if you want to play the angle that Love is angry at the Wolves and requested a trade then maybe this is a possibility. May want to ship some picks their way. That shouldn't be that big of a deal being that even a OKC 1st will be looking at a late 20s pick.
Just my thoughts on it. With the roster you will have after these trades, you should be the top overall rating. The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Thanks for the opinion, much appreciated.
I actually made the 2nd and 3rd trades in the 1st and 2nd seasons (without using trade override) of my first association. I'm now starting a new game and I've just become really used to using these guys especially Evans that I was thinking about forcing the trades, but without doing so unfairly.
Would you be able to suggest something that would get Evans to OKC without having to give up KD, Westbrook or Ibaka? I'm rather new to basketball and I don't know players relative values and how tempting draft picks are as part of a deal.
Thanks againComment
