Re: Understanding slider coefficients
Playing on the All Star difficulty, I've gotten the sliders as close as possible to replicating the players' actual rating. Only changed the CPU's sliders.
It's impossible to get the following sliders exact. You're either gonna be over (green) or under (red) by 1:
Handles 46 (in the red since security can't be changed)
Strength 47 (green)
Security (green, can't be changed)
On ball defense 47 (green)
The following sliders, you will get the exact ratings:
Hands 43
Offensive/defensive awareness 40
Everything else, I left at 50.Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
To counter that, you could just raise/lower the Gather/Takeoff Defense Strength sliders to lower shooting % off the dribble and raise/lower the Release Defense Strength sliders to lower shooting % in traffic.Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
I agree, even though its not 100% confirmed by 2k.Last edited by JasonWilliams55; 12-02-2012, 12:22 PM."Most people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them"Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
This is all great and everything, very interesting, but rather than me having to piece together a slider set from a hundred different replies about different aspects, can the OP just post what the right sliders would be for each diff level?
I know you might want me to work that out myself as you have given all the information, but my brain isn't powerful enough.
If you can't be bothered to do them all can you just do All Star? I get that you're saying you will have to be -.5 or +1, so +4 clicks for +1 (on all star) or +3 for -.5.
I think it would just be more legible to have ONE post with a slider set for example. Unless I'm missing that there's already been one?Comment

this will just result +1 to those affected att and +4/5 to SIT and SOD. you can actually get their actual rating in rookie and HOF however those two adjustable att will either be red or green depending on the diff you choose, -10 in rookie and +12 in hof. not so accurate with the boost but its something like that.Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
shoot off dribble.once you get the feel in all star, try it in HOF, played a game yesterday and i had step curry shoots 0/12 from the field even with the +10 in SIT/SOD.though its just one game.Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
Do these rating differences stay if you change teams in game? In other words, if I start a game with no team selected and pick one in game, do they still apply or can we somehow work around it?Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
Sliders are dynamic in that respect ... you change a team and they change with you.Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
Is there a difference in the way the sliders work between online and offline association modes? I do most off my testing offline but when I plug sliders in online they almost seem to work completely different. If so can someone point out the main differences?Comment

Re: Understanding slider coefficients
All Star/Sim Settings is the base.
Then I made the following changes (unless noted, changes are for CPU only):
Contact Shot Success - 47 or 48 (depends on whether you feel it's too easy to make shots. I found 45 made players miss the simplest of shots. This is for both user and CPU)
Strength - 47
Ball handling - 46
Hands -43
On ball defense - 47
Offense/defense Awareness - 40Comment
