Matter of fact, since when are they in a position to "wait til the last minute" to show folks anything? Last I heard, the last Basketball game they put out was crap(well except to you and maybe 2 other people)and when you put out crap games, you don't really get the same benefit of the doubt that other companies get when they put out games that aren't crap.
You don't think there's a bunch of people just waiting to buy an EA Sports basketball game? Especially in the iconic "Live" series? You are definitely mistaken. EA isn't some new kid on the block that needs to prove themselves. They have a huge catalog of games and history to back them up. They can wait until the last minute to release info if they want to.

It's not like they're losing anything by waiting so long. In fact, if this really is part of their plan (again, I don't know as I don't work for EA), it's working if you ask me. Seems like people around here are very anxious about seeing new footage, to the point they're calling EA Sports out (lol) and making new threads, dissecting video of confirmed pre-alpha footage, etc. So like I said, I won't jump to conclusions that the game is being cancelled. I don't work for EA so I can't make those types of comments. I will just continue to patiently wait for new info.

Thing is, even they don't pull this stuff. You hear about a game like GTA or Halo getting made like two years prior. A release date is announced and then during that last year you get info/trailers/teasers all that over the course of that year. Hell look how much we got on Halo 4 and that don't drop til November.

I don't recall me ever saying that at all or implying that.

They have a huge catalog of games and history to back them up. They can wait until the last minute to release info if they want to.
I'm talking about their Basketball Game, not what Madden or NCAA or FIFA have done as far as numbers go. I'd venture to say that they could drop Basketball altogether and they'd still be fine as long as they have those other 3.

Seems like people around here are very anxious about seeing new footage, to the point they're calling EA Sports out (lol) and making new threads, dissecting video of confirmed pre-alpha footage, etc.
Oh you mean the samething that happens whenever a major sports game is releasing(or in this case supposedly)? My bad, I didn't know this was limited to only Live.

Thing is, even they don't pull this stuff. You hear about a game like GTA or Halo getting made like two years prior. And it's basically September and other than that leaked video that EA put out and a few screens, they haven't put out anything else. I can't think of another gaming company that has done something like this and still managed to do well.

I'm sure whenever they start releasing info for the game we will have plenty of it to go around. Just be patient.
I understand your own opinion and thats cool and all, but you done lost yo freakin mind

They haven't marketed crap but lip service and what 2k aint doin

Besides this leak video which was given where somebody exposed what the media was calling trash and ash at E3 and in previous articles, they haven't done anything but tail tuck and get quietly pushed into the background even further by 2k Sports with each passing week.

What are they going to heavily market?

          The right stick?

          Animations?

          Franchise mode?

          A coverboy?

          What, tell us

Listen, it is a bit odd that we don't have much information for the game yet. But I'm not panicking. I am a little concerned though. You're right, we should at least know a little more than we do now. I don't know why they're being so secretive, but they've been secretive even since E3. I don't really know what they're planning. That's my point. We don't know so why assume the worst? I'm at least giving EA the benefit of the doubt. They still have a month to go that's plenty of time to release a good amount of info. Bottom line is I will remain patient and see what happens. If the game ends up being cancelled, I'll be really upset, but we'll see. I'm not ready to assume the worst just yet.

Well, there is something to that though. IF the game is REALLY good, it would actually be effective to wait for the competition to "blow it's wad" so to speak and THEN come hard at the last minute. Of course, I don't if they are in any position to do that right now. But we will see.

And all I want to know is - what have they done to deserve that benefit of the doubt? Seriously? And don't say it's just your personality because I bet if it were any other company, you wouldn't be saying that. That's the problem man - you've shown a complete lack of objectivity and most people don't respect your position because of it. And don't say you don't care because if you didn't, you wouldn't have put the effort in that you have to defend it.

Its not odd considering their past, but you're choosing to ignore that.

Nobody is panicking, because we'll have a great game to play whether this game drops or not

We dont know what they're planning because they've been tail tucking. The last 2 times they hid this long both games turned out to be donkey manure.
You're the one ignoring the facts and then saying "hey I know gas burns when you put a match to it but they might only have a lighter this time, don't run"

The bottom line is they've been out of the game since Mike Wang left after Live 10

How much time does a game company need and how many excuses does it take to give them a pass?

If it gets cancelled i would be very happy. That means they have no excuse to build off of this "pre-alpha" and have something very solid for next Oct.

I don't give a damn if people don't "respect my position". I'm not here for some competition or to see how many likes my posts get. It's a forum for expressing opinions and that's what I'm doing. And sorry dude, but it is my personality not to rush to judgment and automatically assume the worst of every situation without knowing all the facts. If that means I give people the benefit of the doubt more times than not than so be it. I'd do it in any other situation too.

I'm expressing my opinion because all I see is negativity towards EA and this game. I'm not gonna call anyone out, but I see lies, hate and other nonsense that makes me want to stand up and speak out against it. So I will continue to do that. I want to see EA succeed. 2K has a great product but we'd all be better off with competition and variety in the market of basketball games. So I'm sincerely hoping all the naysayers are wrong and EA still plans on releasing this game. Like I said, I'm not panicking yet. I'm going to continue to wait it out and hope for the best.

And how am I not objective? Because I see positives in the pre-alpha footage? Because I liked Elite and Live 10? The only way to be "objective" to you is to bash EA's game. If I had just chimed in like everyone else and said "LOLZ THIS SH*T SUCKS OMG" you would have no problem with that level of objectivity. But because I have a different opinion I'm obviously not being objective. Makes sense!

who wouldn't want live to succeed? i think everyone here would agree that they rather play 2 very good basketball games a year instead of 1. It's upsetting that live has the resources to make a solid game but tank every year. You just have to face the facts sometimes, you can't always spray perfume on dog poo, it just doesn't make it any better. I hope they get their act together and im sure everyone else does too.

Hey I have been a live supporter since way before Live 10, I have kept a roster up to date on here for all the community to use, I am a 36 year old gamer who credits ea sports for getting me into gaming......I Am far from an EA basher.... I feel like EA has held out long enough....I as a fan of Live I say that it is long overdue that we get something offical from EA. it is the least they can do for what fans they have left.
As for that roster update to 10....if EA really cared it wouldnt have lasted longer than just the 11 season and it would have included a courts/logo/jersey patch.

                                Shots fired!!!!
