Well yes. Nash said he'd rather chill out and relax.

I remember Sheed saying the same thing. Wanting to spend time with his family. I've heard others say that as well on the radio.

I know they don't all feel that way, but just the same there are some that do and never say anything.

i'm sure they'd love to get the recognition but would rather sit out the festivities. c'mon dre. being named an allstar is more money for them. recognition from their peers, coaches, etc are important to them. also, nash and sheed, there's always going to be an exception. just like we all say that if we had that kinda money we'd sit home and just chill instead of going out clubbin and bangin any female we wanted.

I agree, the reason sheed and nash are the exception, is because they're getting older and they need the time off... for younger studs like Howard, this would be a great thing, and something to pride himself on. I still say he gets in on Injured Reserve.. but still...

                    Re: All-Star reserves

I was answering your statement SoMiss. Some guys do like enjoying their time off. Some guys like going just to be spectators. Of course its a dream to become an allstar, but there are fans here whining like their moms just got shot.

Its an exhibition game man. A good deal of fans are unified in their whining this month.

Like I said (as a solution) I really think the other deserving guys should be allowed to play in a US vs International game.

no one was comparing the NBA to office jobs. if you do well on your job, you want to be recognized for it, right? if your favorite player does his job well, you want to see him recognized, right?

The MVP race is over now. Dirk should be the unanimous MVP so far since only HE is the reason why they've won 38 games in 3 months. Only Dirk is responsible for that and Avery Johnson deserves coach of the decade for his work.

i said as it stands right now if Nash was to get his 3rd while Dirk still doesnt have his 1st, then it would be a sham.

Dirk was the MVP over the first half of the season, and yet most people put Nash at #1 on their list which is absolutely silly to me. Of course it could change, but over the first half of the season Dirk is the MVP.

Where most Suns fans think that if Nash gets his third, cool... if not, Dirk deserves it. You sound like if Dirk doesn't get MVP, its some huge catastrophe. That's where you set yourself apart from everyone else.
reverse it. If they deserve it equally and Dirk was on his way to win his 3rd in a row while Nash hasnt won one yet, then it would piss Suns fans off...especially if the Suns had scoreboard.

Same with the all-star game. You act like its some huge deal that Josh freakin Howard didnt make it, with your only real argument being "look at our record".
Dallas should get the same respect that the Suns and Spurs have recieved from winning a lot of games over the past couple of years. Being among the better teams in the league is absolutely a main reason why the Suns have 3 allstars and the Spurs have 2 this year.

and Howard has certainly played at an all-star level this year and has been a huge reason for the Mavs' success. I know this as a mavs homer that has watched most of their games. Howard certainly would deserve a spot as much as anyone, and being that his team has earned one of the best records in the west this season, and over the past couple of seasons, maybe that should put him over the top imo. That usually does put players over the top when it comes to the all-star game.

You have been asked countless times to say who you would take off and replace with Howard but have yet to do so.
i dont know who i would take off. you shouldnt have to take someone off to fit Howard on. My point is that he should have been put on the reserve list from the beginning.
