They had just come off one of the greatest individual battles in NCAA history...They both had mad hype coming in. Thats what made them compelling rivals...two young studs with opposing styles. They literally saved in the NBA in the early 80's.

Bottom line LeBron has been an MVP candidiate, and been a top 10 player in the league since he stepped on the court...at 18. Thousands of players...THOUSANDS...have been in and out of this league, and at an age where most "greats" were still freshmen chasing college tail, he's put up "only three other players in NBA history have done this" type numbers. Yeah, thats over-hyped....he's only been more productive than 99% of the leagues history..why not 99.8%? OVERHYPED! lol. Doesn't deserve the hype? Please...he's exceeded it.

No matter how many lame *** media types try to generate readership by calling him out ("this will be the big story, seriously! you heard it here first!" weak, Bill Simmons...real weak.), the Cavs are still in the thick of the East with severely underacheiving supporting cast...even though the kid is worn out. This season, for him the goal is homecourt in the playoffs. Thats it. Nothing else matters. Get these bums to the playoffs.

Based on your logic, MJ should have had the Bulls in the Finals 15 times reguardless of age/situation. Wizards not in the Finals = MJ overhyped! :y4:

I don't think you can compare defense of today to the 90s. Obviously it's worse, but at least half of that is the rules. If Jordan was playing defense against Wade like he played in the 90s, he'd foul out in the first. The Pistons and Knicks would have had half their team suspeded every game. Who knows how todays players would play defense if they weren't whistled for coughing on a player.

well yeah almost everybody in the NBA plays bad D, and the have bad defensive but I was talking about HIS IQ, so I take responsibility for that miscommunication.

Yes I admit that I was wrong about his offensive IQ.

However I told you that if Lebron decided to be "selfish" at clutch times he would essentially win the game for the Cavs. It's good to hear that he's doing those things now.

HMcCoy were you talking to me?

Nah. I will say this to ya though...Until LeBron ices his jumper, and at his age it's gonna take time, he's a bad option as a buzzerbeater, plain and simple. According to 82games, he's 4-19 for game winners. Why on Earth would he keep trying them?

Last-second shots are sexy, but if the better decision for him is a wide-open shooter, Bron kicks it to a wide-open shooter. I'd be willing to bet that he made more game-winning assists than Kobe, Arenas, or Wade hit game-winning shots last season. I hope he never listens to the hype and starts jacking up bad looks just to please the masses. When he locks up the J, then I gurantee you'll see him launch more but for right now...

          ...just win, baby.

I've never understood how people can criticize someone for giving it to someone who is in the best position for a shot, it's just crazy.

Everyone give me a break. This guy is good but is highly overrated. He drives through the lan with his head down and gets the call everytime. Jordan comparisons, what? He isn't even close to Magic, Bird, Zeke, Kobe, and so on and so on. Has he made it up over 70% yet from the foul line?
P.S. The only thing I am a WITNESS of is an overhyped player who has the NBA force feeding everyone this guy and he is probably the third or fourth best player out of his draft.

LeBron has some terrible players around him. Case in point, tonight's game.

Bron is carrying those fools tonight...but he's got to hit those clutch FT's! He's a mental mess at the line.

OK, did anyone watch this game? LeBron was ballin', and almost pulled it out...but the kid should *NOT* be attempting 23-ft gamewinners. Point blank. F' the media.

And in the end, LeBron can't make the big shots.

The perimiter is just not his strength. Thats like expecting Steve Nash to consistently come up with the clutch rebound. No excuses for the FT's though. He's got to hit those.

Well, the FT's, he got hit in the ribs pretty hard going into the crowd, so those last 2, are a little bit more understandable for me. Have you all ever tried to shoot after taking a blow to the ribs? It's EXTREMELY hard. He didn't really lift his arms up over his head on the FT's... so you could tell it had an impact.

As far as the 3pt'ers, well, I'll take it. With the way EVERYONE else was shooting, I'd rather have a banged up Bron taking them w/ the game on the line.

Marshall, Pavolic, both had WIDE OPEN 3's thanks to LBJ... but neither of them could hit the broad side of a barn.

Thats good. Wade has a ring. Melo hasn't misssed the playoffs. Howard is a all-star on the best team in th league. CB4 is carrying his team. Let me guess Lebron's team is worse. Whatever, guys always have bad nights and his team had a bad night. Lebron had a decent night. Please don't overhype 39 points. Jamal Crawfod has dropped 50+ in a game. You King Clangs fans kill me because you always have an excuse. Z is the best second best C in the East. Larry Hughes was supposed to be his Pippen. Varejo won he game for him against Raptors (It was an over-the-back that wasn't called), and he once again passed up a game winning shot. For instance; tonight he got fouled hard and he once again has an excuse for being a CHOKE artist on 4 shots. Maybe one day he will be worth mentioning with Kobe and Wade, but never with the big three.
