There was only one game in the Bulls series that could be considered a thrashing. After going up 3-0 they let the Bulls back into it. When they finally did close, I breathed a big sigh of relief. They were falling apart during the Cavs series. I am not saying that's the only reason they lost, but it didn't help.

Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
I'm sorry, I'm getting tired of the media shoving this down our throats. Everyone keeps saying that, the Spurs will be prepared for this game and take us seriously. So the only reason the Cavs are in the Finals is because the Pistons didn't take us seriously? And the only chance we have to win it all is if the Spurs laugh off this series? That just gets old, we're in the Finals, we have just as good a chance to win it all as San Antonio does.Originally posted by EWRMETSMaybe the best post in OS's history. I'll be cheering for the Cavs but I expect San Antonio to become a "dynasty" in 6 games. I would love to be wrong once in a whileComment

Agreed on the meaninglessness of regular season games. The first meeting in SA was the second game of the year and the Spurs were coming off a rivalry game against Dallas the night before. We could put a bit more stock in the January game, but even then it wasn't the post All Star break Spurs Cleveland was facing.
Game 2: Snow starter, Pav and Gibson combined for 13 minutes. Again, amon was the main guard off the bench.
Yet, we won both. The Spurs surged in the second half, we overhauled the entire rotation in the second half. They're better, we're better. No disrespect to S.A., who could very well sweep...they are that good/deep/seasoned...but while the "regular season doesn't matter" cliche sounds cool, those games were still played on the same 2 courts, using the same rules. They do matter, if just for the purpose of confidence.
I understand the doubt though. The Cavs played inconsistent, uninspired ball for several stretches during the season, and their rotation still isn't cemented. On paper, the Cavs shouldn't stand a chance. Lucky for us the games aint played on paper.Last edited by HMcCoy; 06-07-2007, 01:00 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Game 1: Eric "I. Cant. Shoot." Snow was the starter, Pavlovic was the 10th man, and Boobie Gibson was inactive. amon Jones and Old Man Wesley were the key backcourt reserves.

Well, SA are known to be a different team when it comes to playoffs. They usually do not perform like a championship team in the season. Even ATL can win against SA in the season. Not that I am undermining CLE. I used to cheer for CLE during the Era of Mark Price and Brad.

Game 2: Even though it was before the all star break and Horry was starting plus finley played a total of 8 minutes, no exscuse.
But anyways, as a spurs fan, we have not fogotten those two losses and know it will be next to impossible to stop lebron. As long as the Spurs contain him then I think we have a chance of winning. Gl cavs fans!Comment

IMO, the best three teams in the NBA...clearly...are the Spurs, Suns and Mavs (GS series aside)
Only one could come out of the west.
I'd rank the Cavs just below Utah. You've got a very good team.
I don't think you're close to San Antonio's level though.
Let's see. If it's 4-1 to the Spurs, I'll have been proven correct.
If the Cavs win, you'll be correct.
I WANT to see the Cavs win...so I hope I'm wrongComment
