Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
But thats exactly what I'm saying.
I'm not saying one way is better than the other.
It's just that threads are started about rumors outside of here. That is what makes this thread pointless. If we kept all the rumors and such in here, it'd be fine. But that's not the case.Comment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
I know one thing - regardless on how the rest of the free agency period plays out, next year is going to be the most competitive NBA season in a long time. It will also be the most compelling due to all the storylines. I love it how the big dogs are not resting on their laurels and are instead trying to make themselves better. Bill Simmons is always chastising the "No Balls Association." Well, at least for one summer, this has not been the case:
Lakers: Same team - Ariza + Artest = Defending champs with a decent shot at a repeat
Spurs: Same team + Richard Jefferson = a force to be reckoned with.
Nuggets: Same team + Ty Lawson = a hungry team with even more speed to boot
Trailblazers: Same team + Turkoglu - role players TBD + Greg Oden: Sam Bowie Part Deaux? = finals darkhorse
Cavaliers: Same team + Shaq + LeBron drama = must watch TV
Magic: Same team - Lee/Alston/Gortat + Vince - Turkoglu = Questionable blow up of conference champion....although Carter gives them more scoring punch up front.
Celtics: Healthy KG + Possibly 'Sheed = '08 champs go for one last hurrah
Pistons: Gordon/Villanueva - 'Sheed + New Coach = Rebirth in the Motor City?

On one hand, if there are no injuries, the playoffs should be priceless.
On the other hand...............Comment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Sources told ESPN.com that the Raptors are offering a four-year deal in the $36 million range, but Marion is said to be seeking a five-year dial in the $50 million range, similar to what Turkoglu is likely to receive from the Trail Blazers.

posted this in the turk thread
"Contrary to the news, Toronto Raptors are still interested in me" Hedo stated to NTVSport.
Hedo - who wanted by Portland Trailblazers persistently - spoken to NTVSport.
Hedo - in Portland currently - told that Blazers front office is trying their best to sign him and confirmed Portland Trailblazers made him an offer worth up to $53m. While stating he is really pleased with the interest he saw in Portland ; he said that contrary to the news come up in canadian press, Toronto Raptors are still in talks with his agent.
Yesterday Toronto Star newspaper wrote that Raptors wouldn't be interested in Hedo anymore but David Lee. But the truth is they are still in talks with Hedo's agent to assure Turkey's national player.
Hedo - who lead Orlando Magic to reach NBA finals- previously turned down Orlando Magic's 4-year offer worth up to $36M after becoming free agent.Comment

Maybe he means off the bench?
CLE does need another creator off the dribble. Only have LBJ that does that on their entire roster.Comment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
I really like the probable Gortat signing for Dallas. A center that can block shots, as well as one that can throw down dunks and play pick and roll offense, was the #1 priority for the Mavs this offseason. Hopefully Gortat will be able to at least catch the ball and throw it down if teams leave him wide *** open, something Mavs centers have had trouble with.
Gortat must break you! The rim is scared of Gortat! (I just like saying Gortat, it sounds menacing lol)...btw, Marcin means "warlike" in Polish. That sound exactly like what Dallas needs at center
now, If the Mavericks can maybe use their cap pieces to trade for a good wing, Dallas might be able to do some things this seasonComment
