Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
In 2007 the Cavs played a Wizards team missing its two best players, a mediocre Nets team, and a good but old and far from great Pistons team.
In 2011 he'll have to play All Star teams in Miami and Chicago, an aging but good Celtics team, a Hawks team that isn't winning a chip but can wear you down in the first or second round, and a first round team that is at least decent, especially if he doesn't get the #1 seed.
Regardless of where Lebron goes, he's facing the good teams in the East and a dominate Lakers team in the Finals.Comment

According to http://lebronjames.com/ it's the bulls.
Can't blame him, who wouldn't want to play with Derrick Rose? Best PG for the next 10 years.
With their hang times combined, we'll see double alley oops and unstoppable air time.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
The country is in the worst economic state it's been in most of our lifetimes. The same kind of tried and trusted people were making bad investments and misjudging markets to get the place like that in the first place, let's not act like it's a perfect science to this.
Um, no. Not even close. Just because you're in finance doesn't mean you're one of the jackasses on Wall Street/in big banking that's cheating, screwing over their employees and giving themselves golden parachutes. I can assure you that no Wall Street CEO's were consulted for that research.:
I mean good lord. Yes, Dolan walked into Lebron's office with Bernie Madoff and the former CEO of Lehmann Bros
And it's not even about being a Knicks fan. It's about being a fan of informed opinion. I don't know how Lebron's financial potential shifts with a move to New York, but I know I don't know. People are saying stuff that basically amounts to "he already has a sneaker deal in Cleveland, you think they're just going to give him a bigger one because he's in NY?" or some variation of it. It's just shocking, sad and funny that people are comfortable speaking with that level of ignorance on a topic.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
It always cracks me up when people who don't have millions of dollars act like they know the ins and outs of how big money works. Not that Lebron is even big money. He's more like medium money. Dolan, Prok and Bloomberg are big money, and they hire tried and trusted business specialists to know how to irrigate the flows of money depending on the details of the resources.
When people argue against it, they literally display no knowledge on the subject, citing anecdotal and peripheral information mostly gleaned from shoddy internet sources. I don't think there's a single person on this board who can explain how or why Dolan believes Lebron will earn at least 30% more in NYC, or why a championship would be worth 60mil more than in Cleveland. Nor can you give a detailed rebuttal of that reasoning.
If anyone can, please, please put that info up here, so the armchair business men have something as the base for their sarcasms.

You're directly contradicting what I just said. I know that I'm not a financial expert. Please read above post and you'll see that your sarcasm doesn't fit, despite your efforts to shoehorn it in. We all don't know.Comment
