DaHarlem_Hitman, I've already stated that we won't be going down that avenue in this thread. Race is one of the topics thats listed as a no fly zone in the Terms of Service.

Back on topic. I'm sick of the Heat coverage during the training camp. And Lebron is INTENSE in practice! Really? Really?

Is it really a surprise that Lebron is this intense?
"That's just me," James said as reporters crowded around after the session. "It's not something I wrote down on paper and said I need to bring to this team. I've always been vocal. I've always been a leader. . . . I don't want to wear out my welcome on day one . . . [but] I can't hold back. My leadership skills won't allow me to do that."

      ...he's always been a no-jokes kinda guy?

Of course. Didn't you see how intensely he danced up and down that sideline against the Bulls last year? He's all business all the time.

Whatever. He gave his point of view and I gave mine. That's all it was.

Thanks for drawing attention to yourself.

Back on topic. LBJ is just looking for attention. You'd think he would just lay low, let his game do the talking, and let "the Decision" die. Media backlash is a horrible way to ruin a rep.

Not surprised to see who's taking shots at James

Cleveland fan and Bull fan I'm shocked

Seriously though, James can't help it if ESPN is all over their nuts. I doubt any of you have actually watched James practice during his time in HS and in Cleveland. I would wager he is practicing pretty similar as to how he did throughout his entire career. Just more media attention obviously for his new team.

He really isn't doing anything diva-ish outside of his idiotic comment about the race issue.

I mentioned 40 posts ago that I think it's hilarious LeBron is being Mr. Intensity in practice thus far.

I don't doubt that the Heat come out on fire to start the year though, blowing teams out left and right.

All that will matter is whether or not he shows up in the playoffs. He can be the leader all he wants during the regular season when they are killing teams, but can he be a leader in the playoffs when they need a basket?

Is that one directed at me? If so, I'd wager to say that you're wrong on the Cleveland and the HS fact.

I'm not blaming him for the media coverage either, nor did I say that I was.

I just think it's funny that the guy is always Mr. Consistently 100% Hardcore practicing, when the same guy and the entire Cleveland roster quit in one of the most important series of the franchise, which made me Goodbye to the Cavaliers.

I misread your post, when you said "LBJ is looking for attention" I wasn't sure if you were referring to his idiotic race comment or how he was practicing "intensely".

I'm assuming you were referring to the former?

Anyway besides that, I just find it funny when people on message boards call him out for "practicing hard or intense" and then always bring up how he dances on the sidelines like the two have anything to do with one another. I guess they think having fun and playing around at the end of games means they don't practice hard? Or something like that? I guess these same people have seen how the guy has been practicing his entire career?

Yeah, it was the former. Nonsense.

I've seen some very lackadaisical practicing in my few viewings of his practices. Nothing wrong with it though. As I took more than one practice off in my days. Just don't act like you're bringing it 110% of the time.

I think the way to rebuild his reputation right now is to stay quiet and let his game back him up for a few months, and let all of this blow over.

Something that comes to mind is a criticism a few had about last season's Cavaliers team -- that they were frontrunners. I get the sense that is how this Heat team will be. After all, that's the psyche of Wade, LeBron and Bosh to join forces.

Because of that, I'm almost 100 percent sure this team will A) steamroll to the top seed in the East and B) lose to either Orlando or L.A. in the conference finals or league finals.

Then, come this time next year ESPN will be all over them because of how "hungry" they are.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!

                            Except that

                            A. Wade and Haslem have already been champs once
                            B. James won't be going into battle with Mo "Ghost in the playoffs" Williams and Antwan Jamison, he'll have Wade and Bosh

I am not saying pencil Miami into the Finals but if they lose it won't be because anyone of them are "front runners". That's preposterous. They'll lose because of injury or lack of depth of big men

That is the million dollar question right there. But, I think that is why he leagued with Wade. He doesn't have to be THAT guy now. Which is good for him, because he isn't the assassin that Wade is.
