Not sure I understand the question.
What is this "OG Love" that LeBron is getting? Can you be specific?Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
i mean right now and how they are already comparing him to the OGs of the game. saying he is already on that level. and what im trying to say is that i cant remember another athlete who has ever been elevated so much without actually having the stripes on his uniform to back up the love.
look across all of sports, at all the athletes considered superstars, past and present, none of them get the red-carpet rolled out for them to OG status the way that lebron does. 4ex. how is lebron any different than P. Manning at this point. yet they get treated completely different. because ppl wont dare put Manning in the same sentence as Montana. i mean alot of ppl still say brady has win more superbowls for the question to even be worth mentioning, if he's better than montana.
but its like we dont hold lebron to these same standard that we hold every other superstar in sports.
he's only won 1 champion, yet he gets treated like he's won 3-4. he gets mentioned in the same level as folks who have put in serious work.
i guess im saying at what point do we stop projecting what i guys going to do or become, and only give you praise for what you currently are doing or have actually accomplished. not what you may accomplished, because the OGs of the game have that love because of what they actually did acomplished.Last edited by TajDeni; 02-11-2013, 07:40 PM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: The LeBron James Thread
and im saying that if you look at the history of sports no other athlete, past or present, gets the love that lebron gets at this stage in his career.
do ppl say that adrian peterson is in the same class as barry sanders, no ppl dont even talk about stuff like that yet, because AP hasnt put in enough work to deserve that type of talk.
and im saying that lebron gets put in the same class as OGs of the game too much even tho he doesnt have enough earned stripes on his uniform at this point. and those guys who we now consider OGs had to climb so many mountains just to get their OG status.
and im askin why do folks think that that is. no other athlete is treated this way, not 1.Last edited by TajDeni; 02-11-2013, 07:42 PM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: The LeBron James Thread
i feel like that b4 lebron won a chip, he was being treated like he had already won a chip and now that he has 1 chip, alot of fans and the media treat him like he's won 3,4,5,6 chips imo.
and im saying that if you look at the history of sports no other athlete is gets the love that lebron gets at this point in their career.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Kobe definitely got treated that way. KD is already getting treated that way. How many stripes does LeBron really need? He's nine years deep into his career. Michael was getting put in the same class of the 'OGs' before he won his first title and he did that in year 7 which solidified his place amongst the greats.Comment

Your saying LeBron James has been treated like he won a ring before he actually did? LeBron "3 quarters, Loss of the Ring, Cell Phone on silent" James?
Then you use Peyton Manning, one of the most gushed on players (before and after the ring) in the NFL, as an example? He has been compared to Joe Montana repeatedly..
I'm just not following you bro....sports in general already has an unhealthy of comparing current stats to past greats...it's absolutely not exclusive to LeBron James...Last edited by The 24th Letter; 02-11-2013, 07:47 PM.Comment

b4 mike won his 1st ring, he got love, but ppl didnt dare ask was he already better than larry or magic.
maybe its just where i be and the stuff that i hear. but ppl across different platforms are already asking is lebron the g.o.a.t, i know i cant be the only 1 hearin this.Last edited by TajDeni; 02-11-2013, 07:52 PM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

@Taj - championships are not the only thing that define greatness.
LeBron has been considered great because he is great.
Hell even the logo was like 1 for 10 in the finals.
Winning a ring isn't the only way to reach the status LeBron reached.. He never had a team.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
i would agree that he lived up to and surpassed the coming into the league hype and thats why i said that he could never be considered overrated. so we are clearly passed that.

lol of course he's compared to some of the great of the game, look at his resume at his age, already has 20k points, 3 mvps, multiple first team nba selections, gold medals, hes not even 30 yet. With a resume like that you're definitely going to be compared to an "og" no matter who you areComment
