Seeing as how public Gilbert was in attacking him on so many levels, I don't see either of then ever wanting to deal with each other on that level again. The Sports Preacher

Re: The LeBron James Thread
It was the plan.. ALL ALONG.. HAHAHAHA, HAHAHA, MUHAHA.
LeBron leaves.. we suck for a little bit, sign and draft a couple good players.. HE RETURNS! THE KING OF CLEVELAND!
Kyrie Irving
Dion Waiters
LeBron James
Anderson Varejao
Andrew Bynum
But seriously, I don't see him returning to Miami after this contract is up. I just have that "feeling".--

But if Kyrie and Bynum stay injury free and Waiters continues to develop I like this team much better than the Miami team.. That is unless Miami adds some good reserves after this season when Battier, Jones, Anyhony, Lewis, and possibly Mario, Mike, Bird, and Ray are gone.Comment

How much cap space will miami have to retool after those contracts expire? And will miami have bird rights on the bosh and Lebron? The Sports Preacher

I would expect that they would all take less money. LeBron has basically already said he would take less than he makes now if he needed to, and Wade and Bosh should expect less after how they've played in the playoffs and with being headed towards their mid-30s with the next contract. And Wade with the injuries.
Battier was quoted saying that Miami has him for "one more year". So I assume he'll retire.. Jones and Lewis accepted player options to be back this year. They used a team option for Mario, and Miller I would expect to retire when his is up.. Not sure about Birdman or Anthony.. I would like to think Anthony will be amnestied before this season even starts but idk.. Ray Allen maybe retire? Idk but he's so damn old and can't do much outside of hitting the 3 ball at this point..
I think it basically comes down to how much money they spend on the big 3 if they all resign.. But I have no idea about the bird rights.Comment

I really despise how ownership and fan bases have this idea of loyalty that only goes one way, and the decision aftermath was the biggest example of that I've seen. From the jersey burning to comic sans (especially comic sans, Gilbert's a douche), I found it all a bit ridiculous.
I'd be bummed if LeBron went back to Cleveland after all that. From a basketball stand point however, it seemingly makes a ton of sense.Comment

If the Heat can get the big 3 to sign back. They will full the roster with quality vets every single year.
Unless LeBron is looking for a huge pay day. I don't expect him to go anywhere. Cavs would be a nice story. But he won't win there unless management changes. Basically Phil Jackson coaching.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
It's not impossible that it could happen (insert KG's "anything is possiiiiiblllllleeee" here), but I don't think it's very likely either.
I do think he has regrets about the way things went down on that day. I'm just not sure they're deep enough to truly consider coming back to the Cavs, and more notably the city of Cleveland.
Obviously how both Miami and Cleveland fare this season will play a factor into it all. If we still see a declining D Wade and they get bounced out of the playoffs early and the Cavs show some signs of life with Kyrie hopefully playing a full season and avoiding any major injuries, as well as Bynum, and the other young guys show growth and potential, then the door opens just that much more for it all to become a reality.
The other problem is though, it's not just going to be Miami and Cleveland vying for his services. The Lakers haven't really kept it a secret that they plan on going all-in when it comes to next year's free agent class and I'm sure there's going to be some other interesting opportunities that present them self, so I guess we'll see what happens.
It could be just as cut and dry as him re-upping with Miami with no hesitation, because really, why not? With Pat Riley Corleone running things, I can easily see that being enough to convince LeBron to keep his talents in South Beach.
At the same time though, I feel like now that LeBron has shaken the championship monkey off his back, it opens the door for more possibilities than there were 3 years ago. And if 3 years ago was any indication, I'm still going to have no idea what to expect.Last edited by BlueNGold; 07-11-2013, 09:28 AM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Anyway, depending on what they do with the big 3 it's going to be about the same as ever for Miami. Right now, for 2014/2015 season Bron, Bosh, Wade, Miller, Haslem and Anthony all have player options and you have to believe that Miller, Haslem and Anthony (unless they amnesty him) are going to pick up their options. There's a team option on Cole that you have to believe they'll pick up. If everybody picks up their options that's 76 million+ already in salary as the big 3 all hit the 20 million dollar mark. With his health, Wade would be a fool to opt out of 20 million next year and 21 the following to take the kind of paycut it'll take for them to keep things going.Comment

"Hey, come to LA. We have a legendary owner, who died, and a legendary coach, who retired, and uh...COME TO LA!"
Don't think the Lakers would be taken seriously. If LeBron wants good weather, he'll just stay in Miami and not pay an insane amount of taxes.Too Old To Game Club

I'm not sure what the Lakers pitch is...

I definitely don't think LeBron is going there as long as Kobe is still there. But again, you never know with LeBron. Had you told me years ago he'd be teaming up with Dwyane Wade I would have called bull****.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick.
