As usual though they take it and now you in this post are talking some nonsense about me ****ting on LeBron. When did he become a flawless player? I have consciously tried to go easy on my posts where I've talked about LeBron's game and what he should do to help out the guys that everybody just ****s on as being **** help when they've actively shown themselves to be capable NBA players.

And no his style of play doesn't just boil down to not working against Golden State. He's 3-6 in the Finals, all 6 of those losses didn't come against GS and he was a boxout away from being 2-7. As for Boobie and Big Z, we really gonna pretend like that's the only caliber of player LeBron has played with? Really? If that's how we're going to do this discussion then there's no point in having it.
      Context my brother. Context.

      1st - against NBAs best franchise/his 1st finals
      2nd- Should have probably won
      3rd- Won
      4th- Won
      5th- Lost
      6th- Lost Kyrie for series
      7th- Win
      8th- Durant
9th- Just look at their squads/JR Smith

So you can't just say because he's 3-6 how he plays isn't working. I'd like to reiterate that he's gone to the finals 8 straight years. That's 24 straight playoff series he's won in his conference.

Here it seems you are knocking him for not winning MORE....just think of all the hall of famers that haven't even made the finals, let alone win one (Queue the TMac jokes). And here he's won three as the unquestioned best player on the team. But it doesn't work? How sway? Lol

And no...the Boobie thing was obviously a joke. The point is his teams haven't had players that elevate the play around them aside from Wade/Bosh in Miami...where he won two titles. So those four years don't really apply...because he won.

So aside from the Miami team, what are the other options? His first 7 years in Cleveland most can't even remember who was on their roster...these last 4 in Cleveland have been against a better team. So unless you think the offense is somehow better with the ball in LeBron's hands less and in Kyrie and Loves (who've never shown the ability to make guys around them better) hands more...I don't see how you could think LeBron's play hurts the team. That simply baffles me.

Can't believe you got me Stanning for LeBron King. [emoji849][emoji23]

Lmao, that's just how it goes once you have that association w/ each other. Never thought I'd be a f'n Lakers fan, but here I am. This ain't as bad as trying to be a Cavs fan was though cause I like Kobe (was a Kobe ***** though when I was younger, not gonna lie) whereas I am conditioned to hate Cleveland cause of my Cincy roots.

So to say he can’t switch his game up and adapt or that he can only win one way is utter bull**** and we have 15 season of evidence to back that, and statistics don’t even back up that he “pounds all the air out of the ball and that’s why he teammates don’t play well”... he only reverts to that when he actually needs to and when they need him to and when they are trying to control the pace. We saw so much of that in this years playoffs because without Kyrie they couldn’t score the ****ing ball, if they weren’t controlling the tempo teams like Indiana were busting their asses because LeBron was the only player on the floor who could play at that pace because Hood and Clarkson weren’t performing in the postseason. They had to slow the pace.

There is a reason the Cavs were the slowest pace team in this years playoffs despite T-Lue wanting to get them to be a more uptempo team the past two season. Despite them adding young athletic players to achieve that goal this season. It’s because they HAD to be. Made it all the way to the finals as the slowest pace team, despite being a 4 seed and ranked one of the worst defensive teams in the league. LeBron being able to always be the best player on the floor despite who’s on the floor with him, who’s coaching him, if he’s dominating the ball, playing without the ball, playing in the post, playing in the high post, playing fast, playing slow, is the reason he is who he is. It’s why there is nobody like him and arguably never has been.

The narrative draw up for how LeBron plays and approaches the game is FAR different from what he actually does on the court. Numbers back it, testaments from teammates and coaches back it, hell just watching a game backs it.

            Re: The LeBron James Thread

2007 and this year he had no business being in the finals at all. Not an excuse or anything, but both rosters were awful. In 2007 he could fall back on not having the influence he does now.

As for switching his style, he’s more than capable. Spoelstra had him mostly off ball, with Wade, Cole and Chalmers handling mostly. His assist numbers stayed high because he’s one of the best passers out of the post ever, but that relies on an offense which is heavy on passing and cutting, which Miami’s was and it was partly down to those that the Wade/LeBron lob became such a weapon. Trying to replicate it in Cleveland was never gonna work because of the difference in styles.

Other than I think 2009/10 I’ve never seen a more ball dominant LeBron than this past season. He had to be and now in LA he can allow others to do that for him. His turnovers will naturally drop back down to his career average of around 3 (I think they got as high as like 4.8 last season) and his assists will take a hit but no surprise at all if he stays around 5-8 a night just because of his elite passing ability.

I just hope for his and LA’s sake they don’t try to rebuild the Cleveland system. Constant movement can be tough on players and it’s why you need energy guys, especially wings and guards. who can play those roles. But constant movement is winning basketball, no matter who you are.

lakers have guys who are competent with the ball (3 of which probably need the ball in lonzo/rondo/stepheson) and suspect without it in most of their top rotation guys so i dont expect anywhere near as much hero ball from lebron this year.

                Re: The LeBron James Thread

This years playoffs and that first year back in Cleveland when Love and Kyrie went down were significantly different “styles” of LeBron than what he was with Kyrie on the floor, in his Miami days, or his first stint in Cleveland. His game has always been adaptive. Hell in Miami he played the 4 on offense and was the best post scorer in the league. He’s played PG, he’s played uptempo, he’s played slow paced, etc..

But even in ignoring that it’s tough to say his “style” doesn’t work. Dudes been to 9 finals in 15 seasons, won 3 rings when he’s only been favored to win 2, in 4th all time in win-shares and 1st all time in playoff win shares. His “style” arguably contributes to a larger portion of wins than anyone outside of Jordan, Kareem, Russell.

Dudes playoff win shares are 51, next closest is MJ at at 39. That large of a gap is in large part because LeBron has played more games, but for example he and Kobe are fairly close in that regard and Kobe is at 28, Kareem right next to LeBron in games is at 35, Duncan more games than LeBron is at 37. His “style” definitely works despite the fact that he’s lost against some teams that ranked better than his.

Come on Two Four. He's literally got AT LEAST one that we all know about. Plus side for him, it can't be any worse than Michael's turn as a leading man.

Yeah, I was talking moreso his actual performance as the lead man rather than his ability to snag a role, but your right, lol...

hey man, just some kind of Hollywood business because you know he's around for that. Remember they had his parking spot and Maverick's in the Warner Bros. parking lot.

You might bump shoulders with DeCaprio but not Al Pacino. In the least theyre give him good advice on how things work.

One thing I'm interested in seeing if LeBron playing on a team that actually has some depth and won't end up being so damn top heavy. They don't have the top level talent that some of the better teams in the West have, so Luke will have to figure out how to collectively get it done, but this is one of the deeper teams he's played on.

I'm assuming the 2nd unit will have Rondo, Hart, Lance, Kuz, Wagner? That's not a bad group.

Probably because they haven’t given up some of the depth for guys to be in win now mode like before IE stuck to signing some of the older FAs.

                                Hopefully they don’t either.
