    Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga

I don't buy into anything yet.

    But a 4 team trade....

KMart/Billups/Smith/Afflalo all free agents after this year? Denver might start from scratch next year

I could see the Bulls trying to get another team involved to work out a deal that allows them to keep Noah. Would it work out? Probably not, but I wouldn't put it past the Bulls front office. Thibs has said he wants this team to be about defense and rebounding, giving away Deng, Noah and/or Gibson for Melo does not do anything to accomplish that.

        Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga

There is less than 0% chance Chicago gets Melo without moving Noah, so there's no use in even giving that thought one more replay through your brain.

        From Stein:

The proposed deal, sources said, also would involve the Utah Jazz and the Charlotte Bobcats. It would deliver Nets rookie forward Derrick Favors, Jazz veteran Andrei Kirilenko and multiple first-round picks to Denver in exchange for their franchise player, potentially bringing a resolution to Anthony's uncertain future before the Nuggets hold their first practice of the new season.

Sources told ESPN.com that the deal, which has yet to be finalized, also would send former All-Star point guard Devin Harris to Charlotte, with Bobcats forward Boris Diaw moving to Utah.

The four teams, said one source close to the talks, are "seriously engaged" after extensive talks Thursday.

Ex, would you consider Jordan Farmar starting PG material in this league? Because IF the report is true and that Devin would have to be moved, that would mean Jordan would become the starter.

Well, Thibs is delusional to think your going to win the NBA championship without a legit scorer. As much as you need rebounding and defense you also need scoring. The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent. Not who grabs the most rebounds in a game.

I'm not so sure actually. My gut would tell me he can be a suitable starter for a team who doesn't intend to make a deep playoff run.

But we never know what these guys are capable of after they've got a chip on their shoulder, and they dedicate themselves in the off-season.

Jordan has longed to prove he is worthy of a starting role, and he has the physical tools to achieve that. He's an underrated athlete, he's got decent IQ/feel, and has shown flashes of scoring from anywhere on the court.

His defense when focused has been more than acceptable.

I'm just skeptical due to his ceiling, I really don't think he has any sort of all-star potential, but then again you don't need an all-star PG to be a championship team.

Bottom line eventually he can be that guy if you have a great team around him, but right now, if he's your starter with Melo/Lopez, you will probably make the playoffs but who knows after that.

                2010 NBA Finals Game 7

                Los Angeles Lakers 83

                Boston Celtics 79

                Top scorers

                Kobe Bryant 23 pts

                Pau Gasol 19 pts

                Ron Artest 20 pts

                Kevin Garnett 17 Pts

                Paul Pierce 18 pts

                Top Rebounders

                Kobe Bryant 15 rebs

                Pau Gasol 18 rebs

                Lamar Odom 7 rebs

                Paul Pierce 10 rebs

                Kevin Garnett 3 rebs

Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying you don't need a big time scorer but a defensive minded team can and has won NBA championships before without a dominating scorer. Like I said I don't trust Rose's offensive output having to play second fiddle to someone. We already saw that movie with Ben Gordon. We've now seen it in the FIBA tournament. Rose needs and WANTS to be the guy. As the guy we saw his game flourish as soon as Gordon was gone. The Bulls as currently constructed are ONE piece away easy to find piece away from competing for championships, with Melo here they are at least one hard to find piece away.

Phoenix needs to be in on any multi-team deal for Carmelo to scoop up a PF out of it.

We have assets. A ton of them.

Try to move Richardson's expiring contract.

What kind of PF would you want, a defensive minded or a scorer? I would pick a rebounding/defensive minded one when you have Nash/Hill/Turk as your guards.

Someone who REBOUNDS. Ideally someone like Troy Murphy.

I don't see this deal going thru if its dependent on Melo signing the extension. Is Melo+Lopez really a title contender? Is a year in newark worth it? I say the deal breaksdown unless the nets take him with out the extension.
