If the Nets get Augustine in this deal, losing Harris really isn't that bad. They can get by with Farmar and Augustine splitting time and having a frontcourt of Anthony, Murphy and Lopez. That's a real solid front court.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
Got to feel sorry for the Nuggets.
They are basically set to go from a potential WCF team....to the worst spot in the NBA, that being 'no man's land'. I.e. not good enough to compete / not bad enough to rebuild. They'd be looking at years of the 8th spot with any of these trades.
Better to blow the whole thing up and demand any team that wants Melo takes K-Mart / Chauncey etc with them and get tonnes of picks.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
Yeah, Denver does Chancey and KMart as expirings to trade away.
NY Daily News has reported that Melo has signed off on an extension with the Nets. Deal could come as early as tomorrow.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
OK so who thinks the Nets can reach the playoffs?
DJ/Morrow/Melo/Murphy/Lopez
Farmar/Williams/Outlaw/Damien James/Hump/Petro
I wouldn't be surprised. A lot of other folks on other boards think they have slim odds to reach the post season.
I have 6 locked in: Heat, Magic, Celtics, Bulls, Hawks, Bucks
Next group I have: NY, CHA, Washington
Next group: Philly, DET and NJComment

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I don't quite understand all this Joakim Noah hype. He's a career 8 and 8 guy and you're willing to keep him over Melo, a perennial all star and a future HOF? Noah is a more developed Serge Ibaka(I actually think Serge will end up being the better player, but I digress) and we're really sitting here arguing about whether or not you'd keep him over a top 5 player in the league? I don't quite understand the logic in that.
And for those claiming this league is point guard driven, how many of these great PG's have rings? Neither or the last two NBA champions won with a great PG, and the the Magic and Heat, the other two title favorites along with the Lakers and Celtics, also lack "great PG's". However, do you know what those teams do have in common? Superstar caliber players and great scorers.
I'll put it like this. If and when Oklahoma City wins a title, it won't be because Russell Westbrook was the best player on the team... For the Bulls to pass up a similar chemistry to keep Joakim is laughable at best.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
Agreed. I never liked Noah coming out of Florida. He has far exceeded my expectations for him as a player. I respect his game now ,but I would trade him in a second for Melo. Basketball unlike any other team sport is about talent and skill. All the intagibles are nice ,but you need scorer and Melo is a top 5 scorer and a Bulls team plus a Melo and minus a Noah is way better without a doubt.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
The Bulls will regret this once New Jersey picks up Chris Paul and are contending with Miami and Orlando for a trip to the finals every season.
On a side note, this has been a great off season for Oklahoma City and Kevin Durant. Their trip to the conference finals just got that much easier.Comment
