I figured that was coming. What a mess.

At this point, who really benefits from Dwight looking bad, and has the ability to get these stories to the media? I think SVG is feeding a lot of this.

He is a loud mouth. But he also seems very petty to me. And knows it would be more damaging to Dwight, and be less damaging to Stan, for him to keep his mouth shut. I'm not saying he's the one calling reporters, etc. But I could totally see him feeding false info to team "sources". Pretty much every report that has come out of Orlando since last year has been refuted. It's a sloppy organization. To be honest, whether Dwight stays or not, I'm cleaning house this offseason. Otis Smith, SVG, every "source"; they're gone.

Stan might be petty but he's not sneaky. Neither of the Van Gundy brothers care to sit back and not speak their mind. Lets not pin stuff on Stan with zero evidence

What's that, Dwight? You don't want to play for your coach anymore? That's cool, you can play with the D-League squad for the rest of your time on our roster then. Have fun.

                    Re: The Dwight Howard Thread

Everyone take your fan caps off and put on your GM and coaching hats for a minute....would you want Dwight to be a member of your team or would you fallback after everything that took place this season?

Right now he's not a great go-to type of player on the offensive end but defensively no other big can match his rebounding and intimidation. If I have the right veteran leadership in my locker room then I can look past the things he said or may not have said because he never had a true veteran guide him on and off the court.

Seeing how mentally weak he is and how easy he can be swayed, I'd take him but it's not a lock for me like it was prior to this year.

I feel the same way. I can accept his unpolished offensive game and terrible freethrow percentage but I can't accept his lack of mental toughness. After everything that happened so far this year, I gotta start questioning how important it is for him to win a title. I could be wrong but I don't see that being a huge priority for him right now.

ORL was never winning a title anyway

I think he shouldve just went into Free Agency and had everyone bid for him, including the Magic

All this makes me happy that Orlando kept him, unless the knucklehead asks out this offseason and we start Dwightmare again. Now if it works out and he's here then cool I'm not going to complain as he's better than what's on the roster now.

He has no mean streak. He should be mean n nasty. He could be the most dominant big man ever but hes soft and a headcase.

#Orlando #Magic center Dwight Howard indeed will have surgery on his back to repair his herniated disk.
