Cavs #1 and #4 WOOT WOOT!!!
Kyrie at #1 no question...
What are we thinking with #4???
Is it realistic or even possible to package the #4 and the Trade exception to jump to #2 and draft Derrick Williams along with Kyrie???Comment

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Irving for sure.
As much as I'm against Euro bigs, I guess we go Vesely at #4?? Too bad we can't carry that #4 over to next year. That'd be really nice to get Perry Jones or a real scorer there.Comment

There have been several articles out lately on Kanter, and the other players, and so far the NBA and scouts seem to love him. The guy is a real real talent.#WeAreUKComment

Sounds like money to me. That's the best combo you can get. You take Kyrie you don't get Williams. Knight can be just as good imo. He'd be like a Jrue Holiday.Originally posted by J. Too much of a reach at #4?Comment

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Irving looks great, but honestly, if you're the cavs you might wanna consider taking williams with #1 and try and snag knight at #4. Knight has great potential and can sit under Baron until ready, and he is hyper-athletic. Almost reminds me of Russel Westbrook with a better outside shot. If you do take Irving #1, though, I say at #4 go with Jonas Valinciunas over Enes Kanter. I love Kanter, but with Hickson at the 4 already, You might really wanna consider Jonas. He measures up better for the 5 than Enes at 6'11 and doesn't have the knee concerns that Enes does. I love Enes, but i just think he is more suited to play the 4 while Jonas could handle the 5 better and I wouldn't wanna risk too much with injury concerns, nonetheless spending two top 5 picks on guys who have them and one that has only played 11 games and another who hasn't played any.
EDIT: Saw someone else with the idea of Williams and Knight and kudos to you.
Also, as far as Jan Vesely, Not too much of a reach really, but in this position, if they do take Kyrie, getting a C at #4 would be much better than getting Jan at the wing. What better way to create a foundation for a franchise than with a PG and C?Last edited by zacmonte; 05-17-2011, 08:48 PM.Comment

Knight: not even close to being one of the fastest players in college...
Westbrook: not much of a shot but excellent finishing skills
Knight: not that great of a finisher, but a very good shooter
They aren't that similar...NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Westbrook and Knight is a rough comparison, but how do you not notice knight's athleticism? He isn't as fast as westbrook, he's an athletic freak, but he is still extremely athletic and very fast. He definitely isn't as strong as westbrook though. He also has great PG size at 6'3, and isn't as bad of a finisher as you're making him out to be. I'm not saying he's gonna be what westbrook is, he's an elite PG, but that is who he reminds me of the most and is the best case scenario I can think of for the kid as far as comparisons go.Last edited by zacmonte; 05-17-2011, 09:08 PM.Comment

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
I would be happy with Knight. Knight is also a tremendous talent. Not as good as Irving in my opinion but still great. However, I'm not a fan of Williams. I think for him playing the 3 in the NBA his handles are God awful. He'll have to play a 4 and I don't think he's tall enough or has the polished post moves to do that. He has the ability to step out but down low is where he struggles (moves-wise).Comment
