Stephen Jackson and Scott Skiles? That should be interesting.

One of my favorite basketball teams ever...the Bobcats team of Felton, Wallace, Mohammed/Chandler, and Jackson is completely obliterated.

Like I said during the Wallace trade, this was way too early to give up on that core. Were they ever going to win a championship? Absolutely not. Were they a playoff team that full of character and brought it all every night? Absolutely. There is nothing wrong with that. I firmly believe that we would have been in the playoffs for the next 5 or 6 years with that core and some smart GM moves.

With Wallace gone, moving Jackson was the next logical choice. Maggette's contract is only two years and guys who were shunned everywhere else normally end up finding a niche in Charlotte. The rest of the trade depends solely on the draft picks.

Denver trades Felton for Andre Miller, the 26nd pick from dallas and a future second.

Portland trade Rudy Fernandez to Dallas

So who exactly are the Spurs gonna run at back up PG?

They plan on bringing back Neal?

I'm thinking yes. Or maybe Milwaukee gives them Livingston or former two time champ with the Spurs, Beno Udrih?

This trade was fantastic for Denver. Hamilton and Farried is a HUGE haul for this draft. Hamilton is a stud.

I never felt there was that big of a gap in skill/potential/etc between Thompson and Hamilton for one to go 4th and the other late-first.

my bad, haven't noticed they took dallas' pick.... great to know who they drafted also because i missed the draft....
I said it's bad because for Felton you can get more than a slow old guard (although the advantage - he never gets injured, great mentor for lawson) and a 2end round pick and a late pick in a very weak draft....

But all in all I'm more than delighted that we drafted really well in this draft

Wasn't Andre Miller a border-line all-star last year? The dude isn't fast, but he's damn good for his age and lack of athleticism and shooting. I don't know how he does it. And I don't think he has a bad contract IIRC

Dre's not a bad pickup to play with Lawson, at all. Andres a solid point guard, and with those draft picks, the Nuggets look even better. Worse case scenario they have some great pieces to start shifting.

Everyone's doing something, and the Suns are doing nothing.

Make it to the WCF in 2010, blow up the team.
Miss out on the playoffs in 2011, do nothing.

Someone needs to overthrow Sarver, Babby, and Blanks.

I wouldn't call him an allstar... He's a good player... very untraditional point guard due to his lack of speed, lack of jump and lack of range... but he can post up and pass really well so it's good.
I first wasn't pleased when I heard about the pieces Denver got (not who they drafted) because a slow point guard isn't a good piece in a team that likes to run... a lot
but again, he could be a great mentor for Ty and he never gets injured so it's hard to complain about that...

                              Regarding the Bucks trade:

Scott Skiles said that he's been in contact with Stephen Jackson and that they had a good talk and he thinks Jackson will be happy in Milwaukee and that he's just disappointed right now because he logged over 2500 minutes for Charlotte last year and was their leading scorer and then got shipped off without a word.

Skiles also said, regarding acquiring Jackson, Udrih, and Livingston, that the Bucks front office believes their biggest issue offensively was that nobody looked to create for each other (what I had been saying all year from watching them), and that that's why they're so happy to have these three guys. All 3 are willing passers that can also score (not really Livingston, but they also said Livingston is easily the best passer of the three).

On a sidenote, all three guys are on two-year deals, so it allows us to rebuild in a couple of seasons as well.

If Bogut manages to stay healthy, and Jennings is going to look to pass more than previous seasons, I expect the Bucks to be 5-6th seed in the east. They have made some really good off-season moves.
