Either go Hard Cap or eliminate the salary cap all together and do like they do in the Premier League in England in which you can spend how much you want to spend and honestly that last option, I would not have a problem with at all.

I would hate the Premier League solution. The last time a team other than Man U, Chelsea or Arsenal won the championship was 1994. IComment

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
I think Cv already brought that same point up already and he didnt like it either, and neither do I
It still doesnt benefit most teams in the league
Players dont want a hard cap, but still... the owners have one chance at this and they're going to go for what they can.Comment

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
Oh nah, I said that because I know it would be the one chance for my Nets to become relevant again and FAST LOL.
So if The Russian has to go into Dan Snyder mode to get us there, then damnit that's a risk I'm willing to take
But that's for selfish purposes of course. Realistically, I don't wanna go that route either because like you said, it doesn't benefit most of the teams in the league.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
I'm in the belief that the 'flex cap' will be back on the table before this thing is over. And once the owners bring that back, the player will cave into it and we'll start to see progress. I'm betting that the 'flex cap' will be in the new CBA.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
Once again I like the idea of a flex cap. With a ceiling and a floor. Start the cap around 65mil the floor would be at 55 and the ceiling of 75mil. With a luxury tax of 3 to 1 on every dollar over 65 mil. This way the large market teams still can go up and beyond, and forcing the lesser owner to spend money. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
Make it a ceiling of $65 Mil and I'll take that.
But then again, I'm no Math Major so what the hell do I know LOL.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
I don't really know what to think of the flex cap. Looking at it from hindsight, it seems like what the current model is like. And then you got the player saying that it's nothing but a hard cap in disguise. I'm not for it or against it BUT it does seem like the best compromise that the players and owners can have.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. It's clearly not a hard cap and there's a floor so bad teams will have to spend atleast X amount of dollars. The point is teams don't have to over pay out fringe stars out of fear that they will run to a large market. Will it happen sure from time to time, but not enough that smaller market teams can't compete or again where they have to back up the Brinks' truck for a guy who's not a superstar. Yet big market teams still can use their wallets to give their team an advantage. Prefect system for the league and great compromise between players and owners/small market teams and large market teams. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
But I don't see the Lakers, Mavs, Knicks, Celtics etc. getting under 65mil though. Plus the lower the ceiling the less likely the players are to agree. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
I say $65 Mil because it kills the chances of these "Super Teams" aka Teams with Stacked Superstar Rosters from happening.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
Even if it doesn't while a ceiling of 75 mil will allow super teams. These team will have no room for anything but the bottom of the barrel role/bench players. You looking at the Chair MAN!
