    Drummond- You're joking, right?
    Beal- see MKG

That's a selling point for AD. The fact that he has guard skills.
It's not a selling point in the least bit. If it was, Calipari could've used him at Small Forward, no? And should've lost his job if he thought of doing something so idiotic.

I think you answered your own question here.
    Fair enough.

The comparison isn't a slight to either Davis or Ibaka. I could see Ibaka as a top 5 pick in last years draft. Still not the consensus #1 overall pick and last year was a weak draft without a ton of depth.
Ibaka, Top 5? So you would take Tristan Thompson and the Toronto Euro before Ibaka. Okay...says alot about your argument right there.

Consensus #1 is a term that means clear-cut. Derrick Rose was not the Consensus #1. Greg Oden was not the Consensus #1. Dwight Howard was not the Consensus #1.

I think AD would be quite happy being considered the same as those guys.

Taking away from Davis' explosiveness as a leaper will definitly hurt him as a shot blocker. He'll most likely still be affective, but not what I think most people are projecting.
How high have you ever seen Marcus Camby jump on the defensive end?

B.Bass, Z.Randolph, D.West, G.Davis, D.Blair, P. Milsap, D. Favors, T. Booker etc.. Not only will he have to defend these type of guys he has to fight for rebounds night in night out against them.
    You're joking, right?

On that list, I'd give you Z-Bo and that's it!!! And even he prefers to hoist jumpers.

Bass trying to post up AD? Yes...he'd be able to back AD right down to underneath the basket because he has a strength advantage. And then what? Pump fake him 50 times before the shot clock runs out.

My focus isn't solely on his weight. It's an area that is a cause for concern. I'm more worried about his offensives impact and if he can defend the post.
You've mention his weight before and how badly he needs to add pounds and it would take away from his leaping ability (as if you have to be a leaper to block shots and rebound).

Look at his frame..shoulder area. He can put on weight. At most I think he'll have knee problems because he seems so awkward and that growth spurt and added weight was probably not good on his knees.

But come on man. You're going to be the only one in N.O. miserable about having a franchise player. Grumbling about how you wish they drafted Andre Drummond.

      Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion

You gotta remember this kid is 19 years old and just had a major growth spurt not but 2 years ago. I think he can add about 20 lbs at least on his frame without effecting his quickness too much.

His offense will develop enough imo to be effective, has the ability to hit some jumpers if need be, the quickness to drive to the hoop, already has that baby hook shot as mentioned. Anything else he develops in the post will be a nice addition.

I'm questionable on Beal, never was a fan of him. MKG is nice, but Davis is better. Drummond has 50 more question to him then Davis does

I think the N.O. GMs probably gave AD Ariza's jersey to wear for that photo shoot.

        They're trying to trade him.

I cannot believe that someone actually said that they think Drummond is a better prospect than Davis.

That's laughable on so many fronts.

When people are worried about you being the next DeAndre Jordan (horrible free throw shooting included) you know there's a problem.

We should be in rebuilding mode and instead he thinks that we are a year or 2 away from competing with Miami and Chicago. From what I have read, he is looking to get Rudy Gay or make a trade with any team that is willing to take Tyrus Thomas and Diop's crappy contracts. (by the way, he signed them to those contacts.

What we should be doing is looking for a way to make a trade with Portland to get their 6th pick. They need a PG, so trade DJ Augustine and Gerald Henderson for the 6th pick. Then you have a chance of getting a legit weapon in Bradley Beal. Cleveland will pass on him and get Barnes because he is best friends with Kyrie Irving.

If we could get the 2nd and 6th pick getting (Robinson and Beal or Lamb) we would have a great set of players to work with in the future. Imagine PG Walker G Beal F Maggette PF Robinson C Mullins/Biyombo.
That is a good step, we will then get a chance at the lottery next year and Shabazz Muhammad.

Bottom line is we are not ready to compete and we should attempt to follow the OKC, Spurs formula of drafting talent and building a team. Instead, Jordan really thinks that players want to play for him. They do not, if they did we would have some all star talent. Instead we have scrubs. If we build on our youth and start winning they will want to stay on board and compete when their contracts are up.

              Just my two cents...
I think the idea behind trading down is to accumulate more young talent and future draft picks... for instance if we make a trade with Portland, we could net the 6&11 picks in an extremely deep draft, and fill several needs as we look to build towards the future. Then, next year we could attempt to land that superstar, franchise type player (I.E. Shabazz).

Michael Jordan is not the GM and he didn't pick Okafor. Do some research before posting.

They said he really struggled with that in high school. Made him very shy.

He said being at Kentucky helped him out alot.

No one should hold that against him.

                          Cmon now throne.

Bass can't post anyone up. West is primarily a face-up shooter. Blair is purely a garbage player, same with Booker. Favors has no offensive game and length kills Big Baby.

I'll give you Milsap & Zbo although Zbo floats a lot to the perimeter.

Davis has to get stronger but he has the length, quickness to defend P&R, and instincts to be elite on defense. His motor and athleticism will help him as his skills mature on offense.
