I think he's saying the team as a whole only has one of those two factors.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: 92' Dream team vs 2012 USA team
This
I cant even believe people want to continue to argue this
I dont care how much speed the current teams have.. they simply couldnt keep up
They'd be essentially turned into a jumpshooting team, and with Chandler on the floor, they'd be playing 4 on 5 primarily. He's not a threat on either end to the dream team one bit
Then you have guys getting worn down from having to play defense. Jordan, Magic, Ewing, Robinson, Barkley, Malone would post the crap out of anybody on the floor... Kobe is a weak post defender, and so you have to look at all of the size advantages and the dream team is just far too much.
LeBron wouldnt be muscling his way through Barkley and Malone, and if he happened to get through Ewing and Robinson would be waiting... tough night for him it would be.
I just dont see the tactical advantage at all... all you can think of is run? Thats not going to work here, I think Pippen was right in saying about 25 and he was being nice...thrown in the mentalities and its all over because mentally Magic and Jordan and crew would chew Kobe and LeBron and the rest aliveComment

LOL, Dumars didn't slow down ish. Check the stats. MJ used to routinely light up Dumars. Dumars gets overrated in his defense of MJ partly because MJ gave him too much praise, but he had the likes of Rodman, Laimbeer, Salley and Mahorn to meet MJ when MJ blew past him.
And kill that talk about you being the biggest MJ homer you know. You know me now, and I'm the biggest MJ homer there is.
And you don't sound like a homer to me, you sound biased..
I never said Dumars stopped or that anybody would stop Jordan, but the bad boy pistons did slow him down and MJ praises Dumars because he actually played against him.. I've never heard MJ praise anybody else the way he does Dumars and HE would obviously know more than you do..Comment

Still say 92' by 15-20 with Bron having the most overall game, probably Robinson winning MVP, Kobe finally realized as how overrated he really is, and Pippen finally exploited as how overrated he is (always thought this, even when being a HUGE Jordan/Bulls fan through the 80s&90s).. Durant would in no way be able to hang with guys on the 92' he's not near physical enough for that, only chance he would have at being effective would be if the game was played under today's rules..
I think Drexler would be huge off the bench, and Barkley would have a big game as wellComment

and without looking through the entire thread, I don't think anyone has actually said that the 2012 team would win....but I think there would be some interesting match ups worth discussing...
but nostalgia always shuts down any logical discussion comparing today's game 80s-90s basketball....so I don't think there's much point to the thread either...Comment

My bad, read it wrong.
There is plenty of IQ on this years team...not sure what you mean

Re: 92' Dream team vs 2012 USA team
Stats, lucky for me I don't need those since I have all the Pistons/Bulls games from the early 90s recorded huh?
And you don't sound like a homer to me, you sound biased..

MJ also used to say he wasn't the greatest player of all time. It's called tact. Learn it.
I've got games on tape, too, bruh. MJ used to light up Dumars. Agreed, the Pistons as a team slowed him down some, but not enough to come close to stopping him. Matter of fact, once they set up the Jordan Rules and until the Bulls overcame that, the Pistons used to dare MJ's teammates to beat them. And until 1991, his teammates let him down."I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying."

You're under the impression you're the only one with YouTube. I also have a good chunk of full games from '85-today, you've probably watched some I've uploaded, so I think you'll need to come see me first my friend..Comment
