Re: Dwyane Wade vs Reggie Miller?
Weird question but did Reggie cover Michael Jordan when they played him?
I was trying to post this the other day. But it didn't post for some reason. But I can't believe that Reggie Miller averaged only 3.0 rebounds for his career. And he was 6'8. I complain about Durant and B.Lopez not getting boards (more Lopez than Durant). But that just doesn't work for me. I don't know why. But I remember some games where Reggie would shoot poorly. I'm not even talking about rings. But Wade carried that Heat team on his back for a long time.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Dwyane Wade vs Reggie Miller?
Wade has only missed the Playoffs once in his career. When he came to Miami, we made the Playoffs that year. In the 2007-2008 season, when Wade was injured for 30 games, we went 15-67. Not to mention Shaq didn't play but 33 games.
We were easily the worst team in the league, I mean we had Smush Parker on our team! If you don't know how bad he is go to the NBA Off Topic thread, there's a discussion going on there lmao.
now after looking it up, i know why i remember feeling down about Wade back then. I, along with others im sure, believe both Shaq and Wade because the season wasnt going as planned both called it quits on the team and were shut down prematurely.
I know for a fact that during the 2007-2008 season shaq was milking injuries because wade called him out for it in the media. which was basically the end of the relationship as teammates and shortly after shaq was traded to pheonix. the day b4 shaq got traded to the suns he was to hurt to play. the day after he was traded to the suns he was completely healed.
tho it was said that wade was shut down prematurely so he could heal his injuries. i remember me not 100% buying that reasoning at the time personally. ive always felt that after wade realised the season was a lost cause, he shut himself down prematurely so he could make sure that he was ready for the olympics in china. whether thats true or not i guess only wade and the heat organizate know. but i now remember thats how i always felt about it. and i remember being down in my feelings about wade at the time.
but in general yes you were right in your rebuttal to my post.Last edited by TajDeni; 10-18-2012, 10:42 AM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: Dwyane Wade vs Reggie Miller?
Oh ok thanks! I couldn't remember if Reggie covered him most of the time.
I don't know if that's an excuse. But Ray Allen averaged 4.2 and he's 6-5. I know it's only a 1.2 difference. But I know this may sound messed up to some. But I consider Ray Allen a better SG than Reggie Miller. When I say that. I'm talking about basketball only. No rings or Finals appereances. Just as a basketball player alone. I'd take Ray Allen over Reggie Miller every single time.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

He's shown he can pretty much play any role at the top level of the league. For the Bucks he could attack and create using athleticism, in Seattle he became the go to scoring team carrying type of guy, in Boston he became the ultimate knock down shooter and played great in their defensive schemes. Throw in the fact that he does have a ring and became arguably the greatest shooter ever.
Not many players have a career like Ray hasComment

Re: Dwyane Wade vs Reggie Miller?
i can understand folks feeling that wade is a better all around player than reggie. but honestly im surprised so many ppl seem down on reggie.
guess i might be on an island with this one but id definately take reggie over ray ray. and if they were playing against each other in a game in their primes, sam cassell would be in ray ray ears. and mark jackson would be in reggies ear. but the difference is reggie would be in ray ray's ear telling him i hope you dont think your as good as me, you heard of baby jordan? well your baby me, then drain a 3 and pull out the pistols right in ray rays face. something crazy like that.
i guess as shooters there prolly as close as you can get, but the thing that seperates them for me is that reggie had a swag to his game that ray ray dont have imo.
seriously tho im suprised folks are this down on Miller TimeLast edited by TajDeni; 10-18-2012, 01:17 PM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: Dwyane Wade vs Reggie Miller?
Yea, I didn't want to say anything about the Swag thing. I was pretty much cracking up the whole time after that. I'm not even going to go down that road.
But again... I'm not shooting down Reggie Miller career. I think he is a great player. But I don't think he is in the same arena as Wade/Ray Allen as a overall basketball player. I've Wade/Allen take guys over the dribble, knock down clutch shots, make plays on defense, and rebound.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Dwyane Wade vs Reggie Miller?
and also saying that ray ray has a ring over reggie would be bosh saying to carmelo i have a ring and you dont.
my point is theres a big difference between being the best player on your team trying to win a ring but not being able to and being the 3rds best player on your team and winning a ring.
im sure reggie would say something along the lines of but how far were you able to take your teams when you were the best player on your team in milwaukee and seattle and rays rays response who be something to the effect of...you see what had happened was.
coming from kg or pierce maybe a comment like that would sting reggie alil, but coming from ray ray i highly doubt it would phase reggie very much at all.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: Dwyane Wade vs Reggie Miller?
but ray's bucks teams were >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than ray's sonic teams
-- ray's sonic teams were not the best of teams in the league i agree but at the same time he put himself in that situation by leaving a very solid team. also altho the sonics were not the best team, alot of yrs he wasnt even in the playoffs.
so we hold ppl like melo to such high standards but now we cant hold ray ray pre-celtics to those same high standards??
also to the other guy, reggie was in serious contention practically every year of his career, majority of them when he clearly was the best player. not really sure your point when by that time ha had already made it to the finals as the best player on the team. so why you singled out the piston's yr i dont really get.
and im not discrediting ray's ring, im simply saying if i was reggie him saying that to me wouldnt hold as much weight as kg or pierce saying it.Last edited by TajDeni; 10-19-2012, 03:23 AM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone
