Re: 2014 Draft Class
Parker is not a good defensive player right now at all. In fact Duke as a whole is terrible defensively. He needs to improve on that side of the ball a lot. He's probably the most skilled offensively of the 3 "big" freshman. I still think Randle is the most ready to play from day 1 in the NBA. He'll be a double double machine in the pro's, especially if he learns to box out more often, considering he is missing out on probably 5 rebounds a game by not doing that.
Regarding the 2015 class, we have no idea who will be even in that class yet considering a lot of the top guys are still in high school right now. If I'd go with someone going #1 in that draft it would be Emmanuel Mudiay, I think he'll be an all star PG in the NBA.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: 2014 Draft Class
According to Ken Pom ratings, Duke is 175th in the country defensively. Parker and Hood are bad defenders, regardless if Parker is playing out of position. Duke just gave up 90 points (and almost lost) to a BAD Vermont team.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I know this kind of sounds dumb... But like turty11... I'm not going to sit here and judge a playing way out of position. He had 6 blocks the other day. And he gotten some hustle plays. I hate using stats to figure out if someone is a good defender or not. It's almost impossible in my opinion to get it perfect. I'm going to stick with the "eye test" on this one guys.
I've seen Wiggins make some very nice plays on defense. And he is super fastLast edited by jeebs9; 11-25-2013, 11:31 AM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

What happen to Duke's front recruiting this year. (I'm talking about Big men.) It's rare coach K ever plays this small. They don't even have a center.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Wiggins is going to be an elite defender. He already is the best perimeter defender in college right now imo. Like I was saying before, if he doesn't reach his "potential", I still think he'll be a guy that is a lockdown defender and a guy that will be great in transition.Last edited by redsrule; 11-25-2013, 12:51 PM.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: 2014 Draft Class
But give me more detail of what you mean he doesn't play good defense. But I've seen him make some very nice plays. But to say he is a bad defender. I don't agree. Especially in the college ranks. Playing super undersized in my opinion. I think we have to wait until he starts playing his natural position. Before we label him a bad defender. Because I've seen him make plays on the defensive end.
I think Wiggins might have the chance to be even better. He just really raw.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: 2014 Draft Class
Duke as a team is probably shell shocked because they have to change their 15-year-long strategy of getting bull**** charge calls a dozen times a game and considering that "defense". Now that they actually have to play defense instead of falling down, they're struggling.
Parker himself hasn't blown me away or done anything too egregious on the defensive end IMO but I only caught bits and pieces of the Vermont game."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
