With what he has and the age of his stars I applaud him

Anyways, Pop deserved it. I know people like to pick their own coach, but I can't see an argument that anyone else is more deserving.

Why Scott Brooks? Have we not seen what the Thunder have done this year?

We've seen what Kevin Durant has done..Scott Brooks deserves no credit for their success.

What about Spo? Or Vogel? Or even McHale with the Rockets? Just because a team's record is good doesn't mean their coach should automatically be getting COTY votes.

We'll keep that in mind next time someone is talking about why Spo is interchangable with a number of coaches.

So why is Carlisle more deserving of votes than Brooks? Why is Carlisle more deserving of votes of any of them for that matter since you made the case for him and not any of them in the first place.

                Ok except Spo>>>>>Brooks.

Spo is just a Pat Riley lite, Brooks is just a guy who luckily had 3 great stars on his team.

Because of the situation Carlisle's team was in before the season. The only returning players from last year that played significant minutes this year were Dirk, Marion, Wright and Crowder. He has worked with an almost completely new team and has been pivotal in reviving both Dirk and Monta's careers.

But yes, it is also ridiculous that Brooks and Jackson got votes over Spo and Vogel.

Phil Jackson only won once. ONCE!

This is bs though. Players don't do it on their own. Brooks deserve some credit with the way he managed his team in WB absence. Everything good isn't only Durant and all the bad is Brooks... It's just unfair.

I don't think he's a good coach but he deserves some credit.

I think Phil was easily the best, or among the best, coaches in the league during his entire run with the Bulls and Lakers.. But the award has never really been about who's the best coach in the league. And as good of a coach as he is he always had Jordan/Pippen and then Shaq/Kobe. Phil set his game plan, didn't change much, and let his players make plays.

Not saying he's not deserving of more awards, but he's right on that line of how much credit do you give him vs. how much credit do you give the best player in the world.

Hey, why can we give Vogel, who's team is imploding credit and not give Brooks any? Brooks may not be the X & O's guy but there's a good culture in OKC

Is one vote really going to make THAT much of a difference for what people think of him as a Coach? Him not getting a vote doesn't take away that he's one of the 4-5 best Coaches in the league.

I sure hope you don't lose your mind(slight hyperbole) if Dirk doesn't even get an honorable mention for MVP.
