Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but Bill Simmons is saying that if Joerger and Hollinger are indeed canned, that Memphis is planning to make a run for Thibs by giving him a Stan Van Gundy/Pistons kinda deal, and that would give Chicago another 1st round pick to potentially offer for Kevin Love. That would be an interesting wrinkle to the Love Affair.Fino Alla Fine

2. Memphis has a good team.
3. Thibs would be in control of operations instead of just being a coach with Chicago.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Is it me or does type of talk involving Thibs and him leaving pop up every offseason now? Didn't he just sign a new extension in Chicago not long ago?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Regarding possibility of Love to Boston.
No way Minnesota takes on that scrub Jeff Green. Likely Bradley and Sullinge with their cheap contracts. Boston obviously has the most to offer in terms of picks. If he does get traded here that means Rondo stays. Not sure how I feel about that. Kinda over the guy. Overrated in my opinion.
I hope Rondo stays for a long time.
Yeah, if anyone wants Green or Bradley please take them, they are meh. It will probably have to be Sullinger and Multiple Picks and I'm fine with that.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
espn boston has sully/bogans/fillers and picks for a potential trade. ive not seen a single one with bradley, thats just me thinking of what minny needs.
i missed that part he said about rondo...how do you not want arguably the best pure point in the nba on the team? if hes gone avery bradley becomes the PG...and we saw what happened with that
interested in seeing WHEN the trade happens though... according to espn radio updates love's reps are saying he wants out before the draft/summer activities start but on realgm the owner said hes not being traded before the draft (prob waiting to see who is going to offer them wiggins/parker?)Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Not even worth discussing seriously, but a radio team in DC threw out the question of whether or not people would get behind a trade of Beal for Love. Let's assume there are other moving parts to make it realistic, so feel free to factor that in but what do you think?
Love is a talent that's hard to pass up, but I think I'd rather see Wall and Beal grow together. I think as Wall develops, PF is a position that can be used for a good defensive big who crashes the boards and can set a good pick. I think if they were to have another star that could get them in a serious championship hunt, it needs to be a SF.
That's my initial, off the top of my head reaction though.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
The Bulls need to step up and put a stop to this ****. Thibs just signed a deal for four more years. He's not going anywhere. Basically this is lazy *** sports journalism at work. Derrick Rose got hurt and they've been pushing this Thibs vs management story every since.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
id not trade beal for anything short of a superstar wing player. nene is a perfect fit for that team at PF, but he has the injury concerns. Washington needs to get someone not named al harrington and drew gooden to come off the bench and they would be in the ECF right now taking miami to probably 5-6 games.. to bad their pick is going to phoenix though, they could get a decent prospect big from this draft in that slot (maybe go after blair, kanter, or ed davis this summer? not sure if they have the cap space **ofc this is after getting gortat resigned**)Comment

Archie Goodwin, Morris Twins, #14 pick assuming we don't move up, and the Lakers pick next year.
I think that's fair.Comment

5 year extension for Kevin Ollie at UConn, so he's out for NBA jobs.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
theyve gotta get either noah, taj gibson, sullinger, harrison barnes, or klay thompson back unless they are getting like 4 picks unless they want to continue to be an 8th-13th pick team...but even with those guys they still probably arent making the playoffs in the west, but if they trade with a team getting a top 7 pick they are in a better situationComment
