They need a back up big like a nick colison robin lopez type of player, someone who'll bring engergy, grab some boards, play some defense, set solid screens, and whatever else. don't really know how much hawes helps them, though he does add alot floor spacing. Another thing they need is a young athletic 3 and d type guy on the wing. Matt barnes has provided the d, but he hasn't always provided the 3 part consistently.

He averaged 9.6 RPG and 1.5 BPG. And can shoot the 3 and make a free throw. Something there starting center could never do.

Broussard. What a clown this dude is.

It turns out that Derrick Rose was not a part of the Chicago Bulls' pitch to Carmelo Anthony after all.

Rose, Chicago's star point guard, happened to be in the middle of his daily workout routine when Bulls officials brought Anthony into the United Center on Tuesday afternoon, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Rose actually was surprised to see Anthony, one source said. He had no idea what time the Knicks' free agent would be visiting the Bulls.

Derrick Rose just happened to be at the United Center when Carmelo Anthony visited Tuesday and wasn't part of the team's official presentation to the free agent, sources told ESPN.com.
Rose broke up his workout to approach Anthony and said a brief hello, but that was the extent of his participation in the Bulls' recruitment.
So the 10-20 minutes Derrick talked to Melo everybody pulled out of their *** and Broussard has the real scoop? Doubtful.

One man's opinion. He'll be useless in LA. He's immobile and soft as cotton, what he does bring the clippers don't need. Spencer Hawes is about 2 steps above being a scrub
Am I trolling? Am I serious? Did Dennis Green and the Cardinals really "let them off the hook"? What about the children? Find out next week

You can't just say he will be useless and they don't need him. Everyone knows the clippers need a backup big. So someone who averages 1.5 BPG is soft. I mean I could understand if you would say that he's not the best fit there and they should have went after someone else. But calling him useless and soft when his numbers contradict that is just ridiculous.

Why would they need someone off the bench to do all the same things DeAndre already does? I would much rather have a skilled big guy to add another dimension to the offense. Hawes is an underrated passer as well, so he should be able to play well with either Blake or even DJ for short periods.
Looking at the free agent pool, they're aren't many reliable 3 and D guys at on the wings, so maybe they're trying to fill part of that by adding Hawes.

I did find it weird that rose randomly swallowed his pride but then again it is Broussard...who knows what to believe. Let's just stick with Woj and consider everyone else BS lol

Everything you mentioned that they need is something Jordan is already probably the best in the league at.

I think Hawes gives them a nice scoring/shooting big which is the only thing Jordan hasn't developed.

Much better than keeping Davis and playing him as your back up center, IMO.

Spencer Hawes is barely useful. He is soft. Just because he blocks a few shots doesn't change that. It's a reason he's going on what, his 5th NBA team? He's not bottom of the barrel trash but he's in the dustpan

Actually it's his 4th. He left Cleveland by his own choice, philly traded him only bc they were blowing the team up for cap space picks and younger players. He wasn't let go bc they thought he was useless.

Im aware jordan does this stuff. But to me hawes is just gonna give them floor spacing, something they have an abundance of already. And having a guy like the one i described in jordan is great. The problem is jordan is starting not coming off the bench. With hawes the clippers are on the right track, but hawes isnt the answer imo. They need someone to fill a void at that position when jordan is on the bench. Not another floor spacer that will get lost in the rotation like the other millions of floor spacer players they have on the roster now. Hawes is basically a slight upgrade to jamison, and the clippers got rid of jamison before the season was even over. I just dont think what he gives the clips is really what they need.
